Monte Hayes of Marshalltown, la., came Saturday to Ret his sons, Monte, Greg and Roger. They have been spending a couple of weeks at the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Ward. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wilson and Juanlta of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Squires of Omaha were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Woolhiser. In the afternoon they all journeyed to the home of Mrs. Lois Davidson in Weeping Water to help her celebrate her 81st birthday. Mrs. Andrew Landgren spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gottsch and family In Burr. While'there she attend ed the baptism of her grand children, Mary Alice and Val Gene Gottsch at the Hope Luth eran Church in Burr. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Oest mann and family, Auburn, were Sunday dinner guests nt the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Doermann. In the evening they were joined by the Leonard Vaughn family. Dr. and Mrs. Robert Brockley and Bobby of Lincoln were week end guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. La Rue Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Duvid Ziers are parents of a daughter boi:. Sat urday, July 27, at St. Joseph Hospital, Omaha. The little miss weighed nine pounds and three ounces and has been named Sha ron Kay. Mrs. Zlers was form erly Luclla Gakcmeier. Grand parent is John Gakemaier of Louisville. A picnic supper was held at the City Park honoring Miss Joyce Tlustos of Dallas, S. D., who has been visiting relatives here for the past few weeks and also the birthday of Miss Elaine Tlustos, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tlustos, Plattsmouth. The 4-H Helpers Club accom panied by the leader attended the Fun Festival recently held in Weeping Water. The club pre sented a musical skit and were awarded a red ribbon. Mrs. Laura Stohlmann is leader. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kile of Chicago, 111., and Mrs. Lloyd Gould of Davenport, la., are visiting this week at the home of their sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stohlmann, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sluy ter and Raymond of Manley were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mrs. May Baker in Elkhorn. Lloyd Anson of Nehawka was a caller Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Char les Sluyter and Raymond of Manley. Miss Marlene Duerr was a weekend guest of Miss Janet Sluyter. Mrs. Fred Marquardt and daughter Ann of Avoca were Saturday afternoon callers at the home of Mrs. Bedella Stander. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene May field of Omaha were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Theo Wilcox. Saturday evening callers at George Bauers were Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Dunn and family of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. LaRue Urwin and family of Garibaldi, Ore., arrived Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Urwin and are visiting for a time with his brother, Don, and his mother, Mrs. Susie Urwin. Mr. and Mrs. Irus Gerdes and family attended the wedding dance of Mr. and Mrs. lorn Johnson in Plattsmouth Satur day evening. Navy Officer Visits Kin In Elmwood Mrs. Dudley J.eavitt Phone 42417 Lt. Commander W.S. Cates arrived Thursday in Elmwood at the home of his mother in-law, Mrs. Blanche Kuehn, where his wife and family, Marybelle Cates, have been visiting for two weeks. He is just returning from Newfoundland en route to the family home in San Diego. He will visit in Elmwood with their relatives for a while. Mrs. Linda Gustin is rcportd as recovering as well as can be expected from her case of shing les. She is with her daughter. Miss Belle Sutherland is spend ing her summer vacation with her mother, Mrs. Laura Suther land, Elmwood. She is a teacher at Price, Utah, and will return there bctore school opens. Mrs. William Bornemeir had the cast removed from her right wrist and arm Tuesday. It will be some weeks before the cast can be removed from her right leg and ankle. Miss Linda Husar, Ft. Collins, Colo., arrived in Lincoln Satur day evening where Mr. and Mrs. O r v a 1 Miller met her and brought her to their home. Mr. and Mrs. Tyler Parrish of Lincoln had been visiting friends in Ft. Collins , and she accom panied them back to Lincoln. She will spend two weeks or longer visiting schoolmates and friends in Elmwood. L. Whitt more and Judy Coatman are two of the girls. Lynn had visited Linda at her home in Ft. Coll ins. Mr and Mr. George Eldmiller returned Wednesday after a ten day trip to Delta, Colorado, Den ver and their daughter at Over ton. They spent a week at Delta visiting their daughter, Joyceola and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Clark and family. A new baby had arrived on July 18, which weighed 7 lb 11 ounces; and named Randall Joe. He has an older brother Robbie. They then drove to Denver to visit Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Serk Mrs. Allie Eidemiller, who is her mother and lives with them. Mrs. Allie Eidemiller is George's sister-in-law and Mrs. Serk his niece. They stayed overnight in Denver and then drove to Over ton where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Grant Gard, Jr., and sons, Gregg and David. Mrs. Gard is their daughter, Marlene. They stayed overnight with them. Danny Fentiman is visiting at the home of his aunt and unc le this week, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Miller. His home is in Unadilla and he is the son of Mr. and Mrs Glen Fentiman. Mrs. Pat Gorrie of Philadel phia and two childern recently spent three week as house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Brockman. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hollcn beck and family entertained for Sunday dinner, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hollenbeck of Hickman Mr. and Mrs. Jack Robinson and children of Nehawka and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hollenbeck of Elmwood. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Thomas and family moved to their new ly purchased home in Lincoln. They had it redecorated and in readiness before moving. So far they have not sold their Elm wood home. Mardelle Miller is enjoying a vacation trip to Hackensack, Minn., for two weeks. She accom panied Mr. and Mrs. John Nor row, Lincoln, at whose cabin they are vacationing. Raylene spent 10 days vaca tion with the family of Jack Highland. Lincoln, at Rose re cently. Marilyn Mendenhall and Joy ce Miller worked one week in the office of Easter Seal, Lincoln. Marilyn has also been working part time in the Weselyan Uni versity Coachs office, Lincoln. Otherwise she reports she ha , been spending her vacation from college at home. Miss Minnie Kunz entertained for dinner Tuesday. Mrs. Angle Loaver.der, Milford. and Mrs. Louise Kunz. Mrs. Leavendrr is visiting other relatives hero. Georg and Dick H.iith from California are spending most of their vacation on their uncle and aunt's farm, Mr. and Mrs. Vic tor Shoemaker. The mother, Mrs. Golda Haith, is spending most of her time with her mother Mrs'. Louisa Kunz who is not so well at present. She has also visited other relatives. Mrs. II. G. Baust. Lamont, Kan., has been visiting Mr. and and Mrs. Everett Brockman for the past week. Mrs. Baust is Mrs Brockman's sister. Overnight guests Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Brockman were James Dringer, and Neil Whirman. Th 1 latter is Mrs. Brockman's bro ther. Both men are from Hast ings. Westslde Rooters 4-H Club of Elmwood met recently at the park with Donald Fredenburg Leader and Morris Mendenhall co-leader. Three girls gave demonstra tions Fredine Engelking demon strated on an Exhibitor: Sarah Albers gave a demonstration on Swine. While Sharon Fredenberg demonstrated on beef. The Club voted to have a float at the Cass County Fair to be held Aug. 8. They also decided to go on a swimming party at Nebraska City.
