Smith. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Kdilh L. Beverage, a for mer Plattsmouth resident, now of Boise, and the bridegroom's parents, are Mr. and Mrs. Paul O. Smith of Boise. The bride was Rownedin satin and ehanally laee. The satin bo diee featured a stand-up lace collar; satin covered buttons fas tened to the waistline with the bodice styled redinote extend ing into a cathedral train. The sleeves were of satin, long and tapered. Her lace tiara, trim irrcd in pearls, held a double tiered veil. She carried a bouquet of red roses. Mrs. Len Brown was matron of honor. Other bridal attend ants were the Misses Shirley Williams, Donna Gates, Jeleno Clemments and Mrs. Charles Aitchison. Larry Monroe was best man. Mrs. Wayne Riekc Honored Recently At Baby Shower Twenty-six friends recently at trnded a baby shower for Mrs. Wayne Rieke held at the homo of her sister, Mrs. Dick Tineher. Independence Day Visit Ends 23 Years Of Separation Twenty-three years of separa tion for two sisters ended In dependence Day when Mi Ameiica Miseear visited Mr. and Mrs. Leon Griffin. Mrs. Mesccar is from Port land, Oie., and was accompan ied to Plattsmouth bv her son, Roderick, and Ids wife. Roderick uraduated this sum mer from the school of encineer ing at Oregon State College, Corvallis, and will be on the school's teaching staff this fall. Other houseeuests at the Grif fin home were Mr. and Mrs. William Junke and two children, Shirley and Billy, Omaha. Junke is a half brother of Mrs. Griffin. Mrs. Alice Pankonin Entertains Guests Mrs. Alice Pankonin of Louis ville entertained guests last week, honoring her aunt, Mrs. Edna Flack of Auburn, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Lee Sluyter of Omaha and their two grand children from Denver; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sluyter anil family of Manley, Mrs. Kenneth Miller and family of Rapid City, S. D., Mr, and Mrs. Robert Meyer and family of Plattsmouth, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Pankonin and fam ily of Plattsmouth. All of the group were nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews of Mrs. Flack. Mrs. Ralph Cansemcr To Visit West Coast Mrs. Ralph Gan.semer is spend- i ing a short time on the west coast with her sister. Mrs. Jan et McMaken at her home in San Diego, where she is residing with her son, William Stewart McMaken and family. Mrs. McMaken and son were at Kansas City, Mo., to attend the marriage of her grand daughter, and on the way home stopped for a short stay and Mrs. Gansemer accompanied her home. Cering Home Scene Of Pleasant Event - The lovely Gering home on North 6th street was scene of a very delightful beefsteak roast Thursday evening. The repast was served on the attractively arranged grounds of the home amid the beautiful surroundings. Miss Barbara Gering with Mr Henry Herold served as hosts. Guests included member of the "Jolly Six", well known soc ial club of the nineties, which Miss Gering, Miss Verna Leonard and Mrs. Dora Frieke were mem bers. Other guests comprised Mrs. Mabel Cummins, T. II. Pol lock and H. R. Johnson. Elburn Covert Famliy Visits Parents Here Technical Sergeant Elburn Covert, wife and daughter, Lu ella, are spending their vacation with the parents, Leroy Covert, and William Suangler, and oth er relatives. Sgt. Covert lias been at Malm strom Air Base at Great Falls, Mont. He has completed D'j years in the Air Force, and just recently re-enlisted for six years and will go to Wright Patterson Field near Dayton, O. Covert is a Radar Technician in the .Weather Squadron. Other visitors at the Covert home Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Dave Goeden, the former Lela Mae Covert, and family of Lor ton. Monday, another son, LeRoy, Jr., and family arrived from Michigan to visit the parents and other relatives for a week. This was a happv reunion for the brothers, as they had not. been together for some years. Sharon C. Hill Is Wed, Will Live In Chicago Sharon C. Hill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hill of Omaha was married recently to Lawrence William Witt, of St. Paul, Minn. haron is a former Plattsmouth High School graduate. Crand Island Visited By Couple Mr. and Mrs. Charles Koke have returned home after a weekend trip to Grand Island, returning Mrs. Jennie Busier to her home in that city. Mrs. Busier, an aunt of Mr. Koke, has been a guest in their home for the past month, also visiting Mr. and Mrs. Max Val lery. and the Charles Koke, Jr., family. Mr. and Mrs. Koke enjoyed the Centennial in that city on Saturday. '.InJ 4 i Mrs. Keith Miss Joanne Elizabeth Bender Married At Lincoln Chapel Marriage vows were read at the Westminster Presbyterian Chapel in Lincoln uniting in holy matrimony Miss Joanne Eliza beth Bender and Mr. Keith Gary Bauman. Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Ed ward J. Bender of Weeping Wa ter and Mr. and Mrs. Gary P. Bauman of Tilden. Miss Donna Rae Sawvell of Sioux City, la., and Miss Joan Norris of Weeping Water light ed the tapers at the 4 p. m. ceremony, Sunday, July 7th. The church was decorated with large baskets of white glad oli and white majestic daisies back of the communion table. The bride was dressed in a peau de soie gown, very simply but elegantly styled in the prin cess lines. The full gathered skirt fell into a short train in back. The bodice featured a scooped neckline and cap sleeves. Her fingertip length veil of net fell from a crown of embroidered pearls on net. She carried a white orchid on a white Bible. Mrs. Ronald Schneider of Omaha was matron of honor. Shari Lewis of Daykin, Karen Dryden of North Platte and Car olyn Williams of Ashland were bridesmaids. They carried bou quets of pale green carnations and huckleberry. Their dresses were white embroidered nylon over pale green taffeta and they wore matching picture hats. Connie Sue Taylor of Tilden was flower girl. Ronald Yost of Lincoln was best man and ushers were John! Guardian Council Of Job's Danghters Installed Here New Guardian Council of Job's Daughters was installed June 22. The new Grand Guardian, Mrs. Dora Eckert took charge of the Installation. The new Guardian Council members are: Guardian, Mrs. Ruth Ramge; Associate Guardian. Mr. Shel don Smith; Secretary, Mrs. Mil dred Stones; Treasurer, Mrs. Virginia Study and Directress of Music, Mrs. Evelyn Morris. The New Associate Council members are; Director of Finance, Richard Spangler; Ritualistic Director. Louisa Vallerv; Social Director, Louise Tritsch: Directress of Paraphanalia, Elizabeth Born and Promoter of Fraternal Re lations. Maynard Ramge. Installing officers were: Guide, Ruby Lancaster; Mar shall; Raymond Lancaster; secretary, Harriet Burch; and Musician, Marilyn Morris. Retiring Guardian and Assoc iate Guardian, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lancaster gave their farewell speeches. Mrs. Pauline Lynn, Past Grand Guardian and Past Guar dian of Bethel 13 was a visitor. Coffee, cake and ice cream were served to the council and guests. Airman First Class Donald Harper, stationed at Enid, Okla., came home for the Fourth and visited with his mother, Mrs. E. W. Harper, until Sunday. Air man First Class Gary Anderson of Charb'xton. W. Va a buddy, was also a guest at the Harper home. 1 1 ... The church parlors, decorated with large baskets of garden flowers and white gladioli, was the scene of the reception im mediately following the cere mony. In charge of the guest book was Miss Marv Susan Hob son of Weeping Water. Serving at the reception were the Misses Bettv Barnes, Cor rine Ekstrom. Mary Susan Stone Roberta Holt, Ellen Mahoney, Lynne Meyers, Jean Berger, Marilce Phymale, Lee Wallin, Marilyn Waechter and Mrs. Leo nard Wilhelm. Mrs. Henry Knaup had charge of the reception; Mrs. George Domingo cut the cake; Mrs. Harold Domingo and Miss Kath ryn Ellis served punch and Mrs. Harold Elliot and Mrs. Frank Cook served coffee. After a short wedding trip the couple will be a home at 1529 Burr Street, Lincoln. The bride is a senior at the University of Nebraska where she is a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority; Alpha Lambda Delta; Delta Phi Delta and Mor tar Board. The bridegroom is a June graduate of the University of Nebraska where lie is a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and Al pha Kappa Psi. Eagle Auxiliary Taps Delegates To Convention EAGLE (Special i -- Dele gates to the state convention Aug. 2-3.4, at Omaha were named by Eagle Auxiliary Unit 197 of the American Legion at a recent meeting held in Legion Hall. Named to represent the local auxiliary were: Elsie Althouse, Nina Frohlich and Wihna Har rison. Alternates include: Nora Ketelhut, Phyllis May and Min nie Bird. Newly-elected officers of the unit presided over the session and named the following com mittee heads: Executive Hazel Porter and ! Ida Oberle; rehabilitation j Phyllis May; child welfare Ida j Mucnchau; legislative Nora j Ketelhut; .membership Car rie Schmidt; cards; flowers and publicity -- Minnie Bird. A special meeting has been set for July 15, in order to receive all members' dues prior to the state convention. Mrs. Bill Worthan recently were ' hosts in their Seattle Wash., home to visitors from Weeping I Water and Omaha. Visiting the Worthans were Mrs. Vernon Dettmer, Billy and Nancy, Weeping Water, and Mr. and Mrs. Lorenze Roloff and Charles of Omaha. While in Seattle, the guests were taken on several tours by the Worthans and found Mt. Ra nier and the Pacific Ocean of special interest. The Nebraskans also were din ner guests one evening of Mr. and Mrs. James Pollard and Shirley Hild. The Pollards are former residents of the Nehaw ka community. Worthan is employed as a ma chinist with Boeing Aircraft in plant No. 1. While in Seattle. Mrs. Roloff's brother, William Dunkak and family, San Francisco, joined the group for a short visit. Plattsmouth Couple Enjoys Mexico Trip Mr. and Mrs. John L. Had raba departed Friday night for an outing that will take them down into old Mexico, enjoying the sights of our neighboring republic. They are traveling by bus to San Antonio. Tex., and from that point will be a part of an escorted party for the re mainder of the trip. The chief objective of the tour will be a sojourn in the City of Mexico. They will have a full opportun ity of seeing this great city of the southern remiblie as well k the cities and scenic spots in that part of the country. Janecek at 10:30 a.m. in a civil ceremony held in Binsfield, Germany, by the jus tice of the peace, only the Ger man interpreter and two witness es were present. Botli wore gray business suits at this ceremony. At two P. M. a church cere mony was held in the chapel at Spangdahlen Air Base with Chaplain Taylor performing the ceremony in the presence of a small group of friends. M-Sgt. Bill Lindsey acted as the laiher of the briae and gave the bride away. Mrs. Jean Lind sey was matron of honor. A-lc Lyle Scott was the best man. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Isaac of Louisville, and was a graduate of the Louisville High School in 1956. Before going to Germany she was employed for a year at the Carpenter Paper Company in Omaha. Dona Is is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Janecek of Spring field, and is a 1953 graduate of the Springfield High School.
