There was an array of wall eyed pike that will equal any caught in Minne sota or Canada. They were caught in Lake Malonoy, near North Platte and are real beauties. Supreme Court Overrules $40,000 Damage Suit Friday The Nebraska supreme court Friday overruled a Dawson county district court decision in which Charles Terrance Egcn berger was awarded $40,000 dam ages in a personal injury suit. The case was remanded to Dawson county for a new trial. Egenberger, a minor, had brought suit through his father, Charles Egenberger, former Plattsmouth resident, against the iNauonai Auauu i:ujuiaiiny and Milling Co., and Leon Turn er, a company employe, for in juries he alleged resulted from a collision between a car in which he was riding and a com pany truck driven by Turner. The company appealed the case to the supreme court after district court jury awarded damages to Egenberger, who; had charged Turner with negli gence. The supreme court ruled that one of the instructions the judge gave me jury, regaruing me verdict to be -reached if it was found that Turner was negligent, was "incomplete, conflicting, and misleading." The plaintiff, Egenberger is a member of a pioneer Cass Coun ty family, his grandfather being the late F. G. Ebenberger of this city. Death of Mrs. Ruth Thomasort Supcrnau Monday Mrs. Ruth Thomason Super- nau, 65, died Monday at St. Eliz abeth's Hospital, Lincoln. She has made her home in Lincoln for several years. Funeral services are to be held in Lincoln Saturday at 2 p. m. at the Bethany Christian Church, the Rev. W. H. Hol verson, officiating, Mrs. "E. C. Wood, organist with Gerald Jones Jr. and Mrs. Esther Price as soloists. Survivors are the husband, P., E. Supernau, daughters, Mrs. Winona Fowler, Van Nuys, Calif. Mrs. Mary James, Lincoln; sis ter, Mrs. Carrie Hazelrigg, Los Angeles; brother. E. B. Thomas on, Plattsmouth; four grand children. Mrs. Clyde Meisinger of this city is a cousin. Burial at Fairview Cemetery. Life Story Of Late Henry C. Backemeyer Henry C. Eackemeyer was born August 25th 1875 near Greenwood, in a sod house on the farm homesteaded by hs parents, Caroline Heier Backe meyer and Charles G. Backe meyer. He died at Murdock, Nebraska on May 28th. 1957 at the age of 81 years, following a long illness Funeral was Friday, May 31, at Murdock with burial at Calla han Cemetery. ' He accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Calahan Evangelical Church where his parents were charter members. During his lifetime he held many official positions in the church including Treasurer of the Church Board. On June 12th, 1902, he was united in marriage with Louise Miller of Murdock. Six children were born to this union; one son, Edgar preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Louise, three sons; Walter and Carl of Murdock, and Alvin of Greenwood; two daughters, Grace Wark of Sioux City, la., and Lucille Fleming of Fairport, N- Y. There remain six grand children; Karen and Charles! Backemeyer and Joan John of Backemeyer and Joan John of Elmwood, Sandra and Kenneth Backemeyer of Murdock and Gene Backemeyer of Greenwood. There also remain two great grandsons; Scott and Stc,ve backemeyer of Elmwood. Other survivors include two sisters: Emma Hornbeck of Lincoln and Mary Fulmer of Greenwood, and one brother William of Bostwick, Neb. Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Oak Hill Cemetery, Rev. G. E. Seybold officiating. She is the widow of the late Peter Hild, who passed away in 1949. A member of the pio neer Hansen family," she was born in Cass County, in 1901, where most of her life was spent. She is survived by two sis ters, one residing at Niobrara and another at Bloomfield, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. L. A. Mei singer of Plattsmouth. City Resident Dies Following Long Illness M, Ff1n T,irior!1 Melsineer. resident of Cass County and Ph,ttmtll fnr . mnv years, died Wednesday night in Omaha following an illness that has covered a number of years. She was born April 28. 1380, in Iowa, daughter of Charles Allen and Sarah Poisall Harvey, com ing here as a child with the parents. She was educated in the schools in this city, and during her lifetime was an ac tive ligure in the community life and an untiring wortcer in the First Presbyterian Church of this city. On February 18, 1903, she was married in this city to John Mei smger, Jr., member of one of the pioneer families of the com munity. The ramiiy circle was broken by the death of the hus band in March 1951. In addition to her church ac tivities Mrs. Meisinger was ac tive in the Navy Mothers Club, Auxiliary of the Eagles Aerie 365, was a charter member of the Auxiliary of Lepert-Wolever Post No. 2543 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors are the children. 'Ray mond, El Cajon, Calit.; Harvey, of Plattsmouth; Morgan. Bruckcr with a ship mate, Kernnt Schmidt, was kill ed Saturday on the outskirts of Phoenix, Ariz. The two young 'sailors were killed as the result of a car accident. The two sailors were enroute to Globe, Ariz., to attend the wed ding of a shipmate at the time of the accident. They were as signed to the USS Dorado at San Diego, Calif. Rev. Lorcnz returned home Thursday from Crete where he was called by the death o'f Jo seph Lorcnz, a brother. Services were held at Crete with burial at that place. Deceased was the eldest son of Vaclav and Anna Lorcnz, born in Bohemia, Feb. 5. 1871. When ten years of age he was brought to the United States, the family settling in Saline County, farming at Wilber and Tobias. With the passing of the brother, Mr. E. A. Lorenz of this city, is the only survivor of a family of nine children.
