The Eagle fire department was called to the Eddie Weyers home Friday evening. The hay and barn suffered a slight loss, however, the department pre vented further building loss. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Sybrandt of Los Angeles, Calif., visited Mr. Sybrandt's brother. Mr. and Mrs. John Sybrandt and family recently. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Muen chau and family of Sioux City la., were weekend visitors of Mr. Muenchau and enjoyed a family dinner on Sunday. Mrs. Lena Gerdes of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Muenchau and family were also present. Frank Johnson of Weeping Wa ter was taken seriously ill Wed nesday and passed away at the Ebeier Nursing Home in Elm wood Saturday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson lived near Eagle several yeais ago, prior to mov ing to a farm near Elmwood. Funeral services were held Mon day afternoon. Elmer Frohlich was the driv er of a truck which was in in volved in the collision near Weep ing Water Friday. The dump truck was loaded with rock, driven by Vern Keedy of Lincoln. Both the empty farm truck of Mr. Frohlich and the loaded truck ended in the ravine, but, neither driver was injured, other than scratches and bruises. Mrs. Harry Rockenbach was called to Casper, Wyo., to assist her mother's trip to Denver, Colo., for further medical assist ance. She has been ill for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rockenbach are caring for the two young grandsons at their home in Eagle and the three older girls are assisting in the home duties, during the mother's stay of a couple of weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Garber of Nebraska City, called at the home of Mr. Garber's nephew, Superintendent and Mrs. Orville Schmieding and family on Sun day evening and enroute home after visiting their daughter and family at Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Anderson visited Mrs. Anderson's brother Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Stolz at Mil ford, Sunday. Mr. Stolz had re turned from the hospital and re covering satisfactorily from in juries received during the tor nado storm, April 25th. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Scatter good. Mrs. Laura West, Mr. and Mrs. John Fischer, Mr. and Mrs. Orin Lanning and Mrs. Elmer Frohlich attended the fu neral services of Frank John son at Weeping Water, Monday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Ketelhut and Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Schwen ker visited Mr. and Mrs. Orville Pitzer at Humeston, la., on Sun day. The latter are friends and former neighbors of the two couples. They report a fine trip and visit, with the Pitzers. The rain has been plentiful and ev erything looked especially fine. They have a well improved and prosperous looking farm, near Humeston and were so happy to have the Eagle folk visit them. Rickie, Ronnie and Pamela Sue were overnight visitors of thdr grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Henriksen, Saturday evening. Mrs. Altina Butt visited Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Glaser and fam ily at Lincoln, honoring her grandson's birthday. Fred Spahnle enjoyed a walk of two blocks to the stores of Eagle, on Monday, with the aid of his crutches, after having suf fered a broken leg for several weeks.
