Following the storm, Mrs. II. D. Fischer's ekle.'o sis ter, Mrs. Emma Crablll was un injured, but her home was dam aired considerably. Her other sis ter and husband who live at Milford, were visiting back east at the time, but their home was left undamaged. Mr. Anderson's gle People rd Tornado nephew. Dale's house was con siderably damaged and was a- mong the pictures shown on TV. Mrs. Anderson's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. AWin Stol?, were botn lnlured and Mr. Stolz was hospitalized for concussion, having been struck by a 2' x 4' board with a nail, piercing his head. He was hoping to leave the Seward hospital on Sunday. Gail Lanning. son of Mr. and Mrs. Orris Lanning. who at tends Milford Trade School, was at Lincoln with other school stu dents visiting University of Ne braska and when they return ed to Milford found his rooming house completely damaged. His picture also appeared with the other fellows and the house In the World-Herald. Mrs. Howard Rudolph and In fant daughter, Sheryl Lee, re turned home from the hosptal Friday. Mrs. Nita Wilson of Lincoln called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Fischer on Thurs day afternoon. Mrs. Wilson is enjoying a vacation from the office, where she has been em ployed 35 years. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wulf and the latter's sister. Mrs. Emma Wulf of Chicago, 111., visited a niece and husband, Mr. and Mrs. William Ryans at Gate Center, Kans., Wednesday and Thurs day. The above folks also visited Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wulf and daughter at Ralston, before re turning home. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Muenchau were Plattsmouth vistors Mon day morning. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kirch hoff and Mr. Klrchhoff's brother. Mr. and Mrs. George Kirchhoff and family of Weeping Water, journeyed to Minden. Sunday and visited the Pioneer Village during the day. The Senior Methodist Youth Fellowship members, pastor and wife, attended the District Rally at the Wymore Methodist Church Sunday afternoon and evening. Krnndparents. Mr. and Mrs. C. Q. Anderson, Saturday. Mrs. Vernon Vioux's sister of Palmyra, who was to undergo surgery on Friday was advised to return home and the surgery was postponed for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Dorne meler and family of Elmwood, spent Sunday at Mrs. Porne meler's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Orris Lanning and sons. Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Mc kay and son, Ellis of Palmyra, called at the Lanning home in the afternoon and all enioyed lunch together before the guests returned home. Mrs. Casper Spohn of Beav er Crossing, spent a few days at the home of her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. How ard Rudolph and family last week. Mr., and Mrs. Dallas Fifer of Lincoln, visited at the home of Mr. Fifer's mother, Mrs. Anna Fifer, Sunday afternoon. The Camp Creek Project Club members will meet next Thurs day afternoon, May 9th, at Mrs. Glen Burge's home Mrs. Anna Kitzel of Alvo call ed at Mrs. Anna Fifer's home, Monday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Fischer assisted with the needs of rela tives and friends Friday and Saturday at Milford. Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Anderson also went to Mllford and spent the day with relatives and friends and also called at the Seward Hos pital, to visit Mrs. Anderson's brother, Avin StoLz, who was injured by the tornado, Thurs day evening. They also report the destructive isights of the farm homes, equipment, wind mills, stock, trees and brush piled up against the standing trees and buildings, similar to a flood destruction. Fred Root, who underwent surgery several weeks ago, has been convalescing at the home of his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Rnssell Moore, 950 Furnas St., Lincoln, before returnng to his home, southeast of Eagle. Mr. and Mrs. O.E. Underwood visited at the Hobart Hansen home at Wabash Sunday. They enjoyed an afternoon of fishing. On Saturday evening1, Mrs. Hardaway of Wabash, Mrs. Al va Reld of Elmwood and Mrs. H. D. Fischer spent the evening at the home of Mrs. O. E. Under wood while the men foks attend ed lodge at Elmwood. John Stolz of Elmwood. broth er of Mrs. C. Q. Anderson. Eagle underwent surgery at Lincoln hospital, on Monday morning. The "OSC" Club members will meet next Thursday afternoon at Mrs. Charles Scatter good's home. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Adams entertained with a family dinner Sunday, celebrating the birth days of Mr. Adams. Those pres ent for the occasion were the honoree's mother, Mrs. Cassie Adams of Eagle, a sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Manners and three daughters of Palmyra; Mrs. Adam's mother, Mrs. Esther Clarke and sons, Carl Lee and Dick and Charles Rosenow, all of Alvo; Mrs. R. H. Norris and daughter Joan And erson of Eagle, called in the afternoon. Mrs. Floyd Althouse has been called to Lincoln schools at sev eral different times recently, as a substitute teacher, in the ele mentary grades. Leroy Folken has returned to Odessa, Tex., after enjoying a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Folken during a vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pluck nett, of Lincoln, visited their fellow comrades, while in the armed services in Honolulu. Rev. and Mrs. Donald Christen sen. Both attended the Metho dist Church on the islands. Mr. Plucknett is completing his Uni versity of 'Nebraska Agriculture college course and will be em ployed as an Agricultural en gineer in Hawaii. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Scatter good and Mrs. Edward Porter of Eagle, and Mr. and Mrs El don Sorensen and family of Rus kin, attended the wedding of a niece, Janet Axe at Omaha, Fri day evening. The Sorensen fam ily visited during the weekend at Mrs. Sorensen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Scattergood. The newly weds. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Dickens, will live in Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. John Beery are soon moving Into their newly built home at Bellevue. Mrs. Beery is the former Carolne Ronhoode, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. John Wlllams of Hickman, visited their daugh ter and family Mr. and Mrs. John Ronhoode, Jr. Thursday. Mrs. Williams has recovered quite satisfactorily from major surgery of several months ago. Oail Lannng spent the week end at his parents home, the Orris Lannings. Due to the Mil ford tornado, the Trade School was closed .Monday. His car was considerably damaged by the storm' and has been taken to Lincoln for an estimate and re pairs. He plans to ride to school with other students from Lin coln for a short time during the housing difficulties at Milford. Mr. and Mrs. John Ronhoode and family and John Ronhoode Sr., visited the latter's daughter, and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Her man Caskey at Omaha, Sunday afternoon. They also visited Jill Ronhoode, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ronhoode at the Children's hospital In Omaha, where she has been several weeks, recovering from polio She now can breathe more eas ily and is relieved of the iron lung during the day tine, how ever, it is used at night. The back muscles are very weak and therapy treatments are be ing given. It is thought she will be able to return to her home in Fremont in June. The Annual Athleic Banquet was sponsored by the Eagle Pep Club at the Eagle High School auditorium Friday evening at 6:30 p. m., served by the Metho dist Women's Society of Chris tian Service. Toastmaster, Superintendent O. L. Schmiedlng; Medley of Songs, by Girls Trio, (Mary Wey- ers, Marilyn Bird and Lois Er skine;; Address by Bob Taylor, news caster. Presentation of Awards fol lowed; Boy's Awards by Coach Doyle Gump; Girls' Awards by Mr. Rumbaugh; Music Awards ,Mrs Stock; Activities Awards, by Mr. Gump. Seniors presented a program with the "Senior Class Poem", Kaye Umland; "Sen iors Will," Gene Rodaway; "New Rules and Regulatons," by Lar ry Walberg; Class Prophecy by Kathryn Stubbendeck. Several Eagle friends and for mer neighbors enjoyed a basket dinner and get-together on Sun day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Denison near Cheney. Those present from Eagle were Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Earl, Mr. and Mrs. Orin Lanning, Mrs. Laura West, Mr. and Mrs. H. D Fischer, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Umland and Mr. and Mrs. John Fischer. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Scattergood were unable to be present. Former Eagle residents present were Mr. and Mrs." Fred Rudolph and Mr.and Mrs. Orill Allen of Malcolm and Lincoln. The latter en joyed hearing of the California trip by the Muenchau's this winter, where they visited the Norris Luebtke family at San Diego and also other places in California. Major Robeler and family of Lincoln, visited his sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Muenchau Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Wall spent Sunday at the home of their son, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wall and family a Lincoln. William Bunten is consider ably improved following his re cent illness and able to be a bout again. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Muen chau spent Easter day at Mrs. Muenchau's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Meyers, at Sta pelhurst. Her sisters and famil ies, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Rein miller and Dick, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kinnamon of Sew ard were also present for the family dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Griep enstroh and family of Lincoln were dinner guests of Mrs. Grieponstroh's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Youngqulst, Sunday.
