Mr. and Mrs. William Jor penson were puests Friday at the Wilmer Martin home In O maha. Mrs. Martin recently re turned home from the hospital where she was a surgery patient. Sunday evening the Jorgensons were puests of the Karl Scharps near Nebraska City. MIhs1 Evelyn Wolph visited Mrs. Addle Conklin of Nebras ka City Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sand and family, Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Art Zeeh and family, Douglas were dinner puests Sunday of the P. O. Sands. Mr. and Mrs. Mallory Jones, Los Angeles, Calif., were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Waldo at the William Waldo home last week. Mrs. Roy Waldo accom panied them to Auburn where they visited friends. Mrs. Waldo and Mrs Jones are sisters. Maple Orove Extension Club will attend Feeders Day at the University of Nebraska Ag campus on Friday, April 26. Mr. and Mrs. Marlon Tucker attended redisricting meetings at Elmwood and Alvo the past week. Mrs. Tucker Is a member of the committee. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Chappell, Nebraska City, were guests Sun day afternoon and for lunch at the Clifford Trotter home. Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Associ ation held the annual meeting at the auditorium Saturday aft ernoon. Alvln McReynolds was re-elected president. Plans were made to survey the new addition on the west. Thirty were pres ent at the meeting. Nehawka will be host to the Cass County Historical Society on Wednesday April 24. There will be a noon luncheon at the Methodist Church dining room. The public Is Invited. Dorothy Sand, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Sand re cently spent a weekend at Wash ington, D. C, to see the cherry blossoms. She spent some time at the tidal basin where many nationalities were represented. All seemed to be taking pic tures. She attended the Modern Dance which was very Interes ting In the patterns formed by the dancers. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Van Horn, of Tabor, la., and niece Patty Hubbard of Shenandoah, were guests for the day Sun day of the Ed Stanleys. Mrs. Henry Swartz returned home Friday from North Platte where she spent two weeks with and family. They brought her Free Lunch back and spent the weekend with her. Miss Evelyn Wolph was a re cent dinner guest of Mrs. Emily Olive of Weeping Water. Other guests were Benje Olive, Ann Arbor. Mich., Mr. and Mrs. David Olive, Mr. and Mrs. John Woodward and family, Lincoln. Larry Whlttlngton jyid Bill Jameson are spending vacation from the University with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Meredith and son. Auburn, Mr. and Mrs. Arley Schomaker and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Oene Lyons and family were guests Sunday at the Fred Schomaker home. Mrs. Jim Atteberry and Mrs. OUie Atteberry entertained twenty guests at a miscellaneous shower Wednesday evening at the home of the latter for Mrs. Ronald Mead of Nebiaska City, formerly Franclne Jones. Robert Atteberry Is home on his vacation from the University of Nebraska. He will spend the latter part of the week at Kan sas City. Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Pol lard and family and Mr. and Mrs. Oren Pollard were guests Sunday afternoon of Mrs. Jose phine St. John and Leonard and Mrs. Ruth B. Pollard near Ne braska City. Mrs. Ned Nutzman recemtly attended the Alpha Omicron PI luncheon In Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Ned Nutzman and family later visited at the Ed Scho maker home. On Terry Pollard's fourth birthday his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pollard entertained the following guests, Mr. and Mrs. John Chieppa and family, Chicago; Mrs. Josephine St. John and Leonard, Mrs. Ruth B. Pollard, Nebraska City; Mr. and Mrs. Merrltt Pollard. Phil and Mary Owen of Lincoln are spending their spring vacation with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Walter Power. Mrs. John Chieppa and chil dren of Chicago left Thursday for their home after spending almost two weeks with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Merrltt Pol lard. Tuesday the Merrltt Pol lards, Chleppas and the Harold Pollard family were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Burbee of Union. Mr. and Mrs. Nell Pierce and Nella were dinner guests Sun day of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wun- derllch. Elmer Krebs and Nell Pierce attended an all day meeting of the Phillips Oil Co. in Omaha. Monday. The chlldrens choir of the Methodist Church gave several numbers at the morning ser vice Sunday. Mrs. Ivan Hansen Is organist and director. Duane Everett Sang. The birthday of John Tyson was observed Sunday with a dinner at the Malcolm Pollard home. Guests were Mrs. Arnold French and children, Platts mouth, Mr. and Mrs. John Ty son. Mrs. Pollard spent two days the past week with Mrs. French and the children. Mr. and Mrs. Bob High and family of Nebraska City were guests Sunday at the Elmer Ross home. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Ross en tertained their card club Sun day evening. Mr. and Mrs. John Foster held high score and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ross, low. Mrs. Mark Wleckhorst received the traveling prize. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ross at tended church services Sunday at the North Branch Lutheran Church, and were guests at din ner which was served to 300. Mrs. Amelia Balfour, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ross and Mrs. Em ma Nutzman attended the sil ver wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Nutzman of Unadilla, Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Ander son have moved from Omaha to Nehawka and live in the Carl Wessel house. Mr. and Mrs. Wassel have moved to their home in Union. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Romans and family of Nebraska City were supper guests Sunday of the Dan Andersons. ' School Notes At a Mother-Daughter Tea Tuesday at the school the of ficers of the Future Homemak ers of America were installed. Sue Johnson spoke on "What Is F. H. A.?" Mary Lou Briley gave a report of the state con vention she attended in Lincoln recently. The Girls Glee Club sang two numbers, Gladys Nix on, Bonnie Lacy, Sharon Ehlers and Rose Stoll sang "Easter Parade." Refreshments were served in the Home Ec room with the teachers as guests. The Junior - Senior banquet will be held at the school on April 26. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Willis were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Willis of Union. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Plunkett were guests Sunday and also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ed ward Ruggie and daughter of Lincoln, at the Enos Plunkett home, in Weeping Water. Nella Pierce was an overnight Louisville Mother Honors Son On Fourth Don Wildrick hone 2511 Mrs. Thelma Helllg entertain ed 14 little friends of her son Alan April 14th, honoring Alan on his 4th birthday. The hlgh light of the afternoon was an Easter egg hunt in the back yard. Alan received many nice gifts. After an afternoon full of fun, each child was present ed with a little Easter basket. The birthday cake was made guest Wednesday of Jolene Mey er. .Mr. and Mrs. Oren Pollard called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Pollard Sunday afternoon. Ollie Atteberry returned home Friday from St. Mary's Hos pital of Nebraska City. He was hospitalized for ten days. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Anderson spent Tuesday evening with the Bob Romans family at Nebras ka City. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence James of York spent the day Sunday with the Otto Schafers. Those present beside the host and the guest of honor were Steinkamp: Dick and Keith Dennis and Debra Erhart; Doug las Alley; Sandra and Randal Baker of Weeping Water; Linda Alda, and Tommy Gardner of Lincoln. They wished Alan a happy birthday before they sll went home. Willard Mason of Calloway visited for a few hours at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Mason, and his sister, Mrs. Thelma Helllg and Alan, Sunday, April 14. Mr. and Mrs. Irus Gerdes celebrated their 16th wedding Anniversary Friday April 12. Guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Payton and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Pay ton and family, all of Platts mouth. A lunch was served late in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Irus Gerdes spent Sunday eve ning in Omaha. They had a wonderful time and all enjoyed their tour. The Senior Class play has been postponed until May 3-4. We hope you will take heed of the time change. We are still work ing on our class play, "You Can't Take It With You." Theodora Wilcox received word early Sunday, April 14th, that his brother, Alton Wilcox, had passed away at his home in Portervillo, Calif., that morn ing. Mr. and Mrs. Wilcox left for Porterville, that afternoon. Mr. Wilcox will return home Friday, April 19th, but Mrs. Wilcox will remain for an ex tended visit with her daughters, Mrs. Lillian Scott and Mrs. Sena Pyror. Mr. and Mrs. Gene May field of Omaha are staying at the Wilcox home this week look ing after things until Mr. Wil cox returns home. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Craw ford were in Omaha Saturday.
