August Stohl- man, Jr., and family visited Sunday evening at the J. H Albert, Sr., home. About 30 relatives and friends gathered at the Victor Stoehr home Sunday to help Mrs. Vic tor and Mrs. George Stoehr cele brate their birthdays. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Bain and family of Nebraska City visited Sunday afternoon and evening at the Melvin Reed home. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Thorton visited Saturday evening of last week at the Dayton Hennings home. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Albert visited Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Al bert Sr , Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Dayton Hennings and family called at the Arnold Bogler home honoring Arnold's birthday Friday evening. The boys of the Ashgrove H's 4-H Club met with their leader, Mrs. Victor Miller Monday aft ernoon, Jan. 7, to work on their bird feeders, which will be ex hibited at the Cass County fair. The boys munched on cookies also. Mrs. Minnie Wilson- and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Richards spent last Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nelson. A few days later Mr. and Mrs. Nelson went to Omaha to see their aunt, Mrs. Wilson, when she left by plane for Pine Crest Farm, near Doswell, Va. Mrs. Wilson makes her home with her daughter, Mrs. Wendell Sanderson and Mr. Sanderson. Word has been received that Mrs. Wilson ar rived there safely. Mrs. Blanche Schildmeyer of Lomita, Calif.,' spent the week end with her niece, Mrs. Cortis Lemon, Mr. Lemon, John and Larry. . A fish fry was held at the Al Backemeier home Saturday evening. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. John Jones and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Long; and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Jones and Mr.and Mrs. Larry Cline. 1 Friday evening supper guests of Mr.and Mrs. Milton Bochman were Mr. and Mrs. Russ Lydiatt and Mr.and Mrs. Forrest Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Richards were Friday v evening dinner guests at the Glen Fosnot home in Lincoln. Jim Fosnot came home with Mr. and Mrs. Rich ards for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Richards and the Fosnot family went to Crete Sunday for a birthday dinner with Dr. and Mrs. W. E. Ziegenbein and sons. The group was helping Mr. Richards celebrate his birthday. Mr. and , Mrs. Dewey Moore had dinner Monday with Mrs. Gerald Wiles in PJattsmouth. Mrs. Lyle Bailey and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan E. Armstrong attend ed the Evangelistic Institute held at the Ashland Christian Church Thursday evening. Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. Armstrong as sisted with serving supper to 120 guests at the institute who came from Christian churches of surrounding towns. Lynn Eugene Roeber, the in fant son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo nard Roeber was christened at the Trinity Lutheran Church near Murdock Sunday. The spon sors were Mrs. Clyde Jones of Ashland and Bill Mooney of Omaha. After the services, Mr. and Mrs. Roeber were hosts at din ner. Their guests were the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Roeber and Herman Gakemeier Mr. and Mrs.Lawrence Sten berg, Janet and Mary Jo of Council Bluffs, were Sunday dinner and supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Stenberg and Mrs. Emma Olson, . additional afternoon guests were Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Hunt and Carol and Mr. and Mrs. Nels Stenberg. Marsha and Mona Mason spent Saturday with Mrs. Milton Boch man. Sunday afternoon, Mrs. William Mason and the children were at the Bachman home where the children enjoyed rides on their sleds behind the car driven by their mother. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wells and Mrs. Anna Bloom and Al ton visited with Mr. and Mrs. Arley Barger Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Mc Crory of Murdock spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. John Jones and sons. Mr. and Mrs. Geoge Moomey of Elmwood were Friday eve ning visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Art Box. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Buell and Raymond were Wednesday sup per guests at the Martin Sten berg home. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan E. Arm strong visited Roy Everman at the Veterans Hospital Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Roy Everman was also at the hospital that afternoon. Mrs. Everman and Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong call ed at the Keith Everman home that evening. Mr. and Mrs.Ray Bower were Friday evening visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stickney and family.- Mr. and Mrs. Bennett Born man and daughters of Omaha, were Saturday overnight and Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. George Bornman. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Swarts spent Monday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mansfield. . Mrs. Ashley Boiler and her mother, . Mrs. Olive Whitlatch and Mr. Boiler's mother, Mrs. Gertrude Boiler, attended the funeral of Mrs. Eva Gray at Ashland Monday.
