Todd, 85, member of one of the territorial families of Cass County, died early Tuesday morning at Bryan Memorial Hos pital, Lincoln. Mr. Todd, a resident of Green wood, had been at the hospital for a week being taken there following an accident at his home, that resulted in a ..frac tured hip. Mr. Todd was born west of Plattsmouth on March 22, 1371, son of Mr. and Mrs. E R. Todd, settlers here in territorial days. He spent his youth in this vicinity, being engaged in farm ing for the greater part of his j lifetime. He was one of the best known residents of the territory north west of this city where his iarm ing interests were located. In 1920 he moved west to the vic- ; inity of Greenwood, where., he I has since resided and continued his farming activities as long as his health permitted. Surviving are one son, Ches ter Todd, Greenwood; one daugh ter, Mrs. Emil Meisinger cf Greenwood; seven granddaugh ters and one grandson; one brother, Russell Todd, of South Gate, Calif. Funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon .. at ' 1:30 at the Marcy funeral chapel at Ashland. The service at the chapel were conducted by Rev. Buckley, pastor of the First Methodist church. The body was brought . to Plattsmouth for interment 'at Oak Hill cemetery in the family plot. Dick Maybcc Dies At Home In Kansas Mr and Mrs. LeRoy Covert and Mrs. William Bashus,- and son, Earl Bashus attended' the funeral services at Horton, Kans. for Dick Maybee, who passed away Jan. 11, following a heart attack. Services were conducted bv the Reverend Arthur Forrester, minister of the Baptist Church. Mr. Maybee was born "May 19th, 1883 at Bellevue, lived in Plattsmouth, until his marriage to Mrs. Lena Richardson in 1912, and moved to Kansas. The couple had three children. one son deceased at the age-of . no Surviving are the widow, -one son, Kenneth Maybee of St." Jo seph Mo., daughter, Mrs. Tnei ma Kuchta of California; three stepchildren, Hershel Richard son, Cheyenne, Wyo , Orville Richardson, Atchison, Kans., and Mrs. Hazel Rhodes of California. Two sisters also survive, Mrs. LeRoy Covert of Plattsmouth and Mrs. William Bashus of Omaha. Brothers, Charles May bee of Nebraska City and Ser geant Edward Maybee in the Air Force at Blythville, Ark., eight grandchildren also survive. Funeral Service Of Harry Hauschild North Branch Church Funeral services were held at the North Branch Lutheran church, near Avoca, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Harry H. Hauschild, lifetime resident of that community. Rev. A. Zeilinger conducted the services and burial was at the North Branch cemetery nearby Casket bearers were Maynard Hauschild, Allen Haus child, Dale Stubbendick, Clar ence Rottman, Harry Rottman, Donald Grant. Mr. Hauschild died Saturday morning at his farm home near avoca of a heart attack at the age of 61 years. He was born August 14, 1895 near Avoca, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hauschild. On June 14, 1916 he was united in mar riage to Emma Rottman at A voca. Survivors include his wife. jEmma, two daughters, Mrs. ! Floyd Mohr, Avoca, and Mrs. i j- in. - s i i jjoren omim, uouncu .uis,; one son, Harold of Avoca; 9 grandchildren, and two brothers, Otto of Syracuse, and William of Salt Lake City, Utah, three children preceded him in death. Funeral Services For R. Thayer Propst Funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon at the Grace Methodist Church, 25th -and E. Sreets, Omaha, for Rob ert Thayer Propst, former resi dent of this county and long time merchant in Omaha. The burial was at West Lawn Cemetery, Omaha. The Sattler Funeral Home of this city was in charge of the services. The National Education Asso ciation reported a teacher short ages had deprived 840,000 chil dren of normal full-time school- rtjiil :: r ' -Ok. A V " A S N
