Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lowe or Havelock, were Sunday after noon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Klyver. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Buck nells of Elmwood were Monday night supper guests of Mrs. Edith Braun. Mrs. Arthur Skinner of Alvo and her aunt, Mrs. Blanche Swackers of Lincoln left Friday by train for Los Angeles, Calif., to visit relatives and friends for a couple of weeks. Mrs. Anna Hardnock spent Wednesday with Mrs. Amanda Snavely. Jerry Hardnock had the mis fortune to break her elbow while playing at school. It was a bad break and he had to have sur gery. His parents visited him at the hospital Sunday and he came horn Monday. Born to. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Halvorson, September 10th, a baby boy, weight seven pounds, and one-half ounce. He has been have a little girl. Mrs. Mabel Elliott of Alvo is a grandmoth er. Mr. and Mrs. Don Elliott and children entertained at Sunday dinner honoring the wedding of Mrs. Elliots parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Roelofsz. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Winget and family and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Roger of Lincoln. In the evening Mrs. Roelofsz and Ms. Ester Clark went to Omaha with Mrs. Clarks son, Dick, and his friend and attended a show. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sutton had as their guests Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Williams and grandma Brunner of Prairie Home, Mr. Henry Dettmer and sister, Miss Martha of Have lock, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kly ver. The evening was spent play ing pinochle. Mrs. Sutton served lunch. Mrs. Iva Scott of Merna, sister of Mrs. Walter Nickle, who has spent the past ten days at the Nickle home, left Sunday for her home. Mrs. Lydia Bockelman was a Sunday forenoon visitor of Ralph and Mabelle Winn. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jensen, Sandy and Randy, entertained at dinner Sunday honoring the wedding anniversary of Mrs. Jensen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Schuelke. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Reber and Terry Henning, granddaugh ter of the Rebers, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Mickel drove to Steinhart Park at Nebraska City, Sunday and spent the day. Mrs. Hazel Roelofsz and Mrs. Esther Clark was among those giving blood for the Red Cross at Elmwood. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Don Wymore of Beatrice, a baby boy They have another son, thirteen years old. They are former resi dents of Alvo. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stewart were Sunday dinner and supper guests of the latters brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Campbell. In the after noon they visited Mrs. Dave Campbell, who is in the Bryan Memorial Hospital with a brok en hip. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cain and daughter of Walton were Mon day night visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stewart.
