Thursday, August 167 156 Joan; Pink Engaged To Wed This Month Mr. and Mrs. George Troop announce the engagement and .approaching marriage of her daughter, Joan Marguerite Pink to Merle Dean Meisinger, son of Mrs. Dorothy Meisinger, all of Plattsmouth. The bride-elect is a graduate of Plattsmouth High School and is presently employed at Offutt Air Force Base. Mr. Meisinger a graduate of Plattsmouth High School and is employed at Allied Chemical Plant. The couple will be married late this month at the Saint Johns Catholic Church. A Bridal Shower -Held Here Sunday Mrs. Franklin Lamascus en tertained Sunday at a bridal shower honoring Mrs. Wilbert Zoulanek of Holyrood, Kans. Guests included Mrs. Rudy Iverson, Mrs. June EggertMrs. Lyle Montgomery, Mrs. Paul Kirsten and daughter, 'Mrs. Vir gie Kaffenberger and son and Mrs. Irene Smith. Mrs. Iverson and Mrs. Smith were winners of the prizes in the game played. Refreshments were served following the opening of the bri dal gifts. Bride-Elect Honored At Personal Shower Beverly Meisinger honored Joan Pink, bride-to-be, at a per sonal shower at the Meisinger home recently. Those attending from Platts mouth were Pat Hutchinson, Gayle Fitzpatrick, Peggy Rog ers, Alice Haaase, Marvedine Shown ,the honoree and the host esses. A number of guests from Omaha were unable to attend. Miss Pink received many use ful gifts. Hoschar, bride-to-be, has been honored at recent showers, receiving many useful gifts. Miss Hoschar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hoschar, will wed Havley E. Sayers, August 24, at the Murray Christian Church. A miscellaneous shower was given at the Murray church. Hostesses were Mrs. Paul Weible Betty June Morris, June Wag ner, Doris Ehlers and Shirley Sudduth. . Invited guests were classmates of the honoree. The hostesses served lunch following the gift receiving and entertainment. Relatives of the pre-nuptial couple held a miscellaneous shower given at the home of Mrs. W. E. Hoschar. "' Games were played with pri zes awarded to Mrs. Curtis Faris and Mrs. Nelva Wander. Hostesses served lunch. .. A miscellaneous shower was given Friday night" honoring Miss Hoschar. Local Druggist Attended Display Fred Feldhousen attended the gift and toy exposition in Kan sas City, Mo., selecting gifts for the holiday season for Feld housen Drug. Mr. Feldhousen states that the display was one of the best. Robert Davison, pharmacist, looked after the store during Mr. Feldhousen's absence. Mr. Davison is known by many Plattsmouth people, having ser ved as pharmacist during Mr. Feldhousen's recent hospitali zation. " On Sunday the famiy enjoy ed a picnic dinner and reunion. The day was spent visiting and taking, pictures. ' Those present other than the Wisconsin visitors and the hosts were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dalbow and Kris Newville of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs Ralph Pay ton and daughters; Mr. and Mrs. Joy Haswell; Mr. and Mrs Dale Bruns; Gene Haswell and Ruth Bruns. Callers at the Bruns home over the weekend were Mrs.; Nellie Parker, Mrs. Mildred Young and Mrs. Gillispie from Nebraska City; Mrs. Maude Smock of Plattsmouth; Tommy Johnson pf Nehawka; Mr. and Mrs. John Martens, of Otoe and Mr. and Mrs. Ike Gerdes and family of Louisville. ' Daughter Visits Parents, Husband To Camp Ripley ' Mr. and Mrs. Harold D. Schwab and son, John Robert, have been visiting, with the par ents of Mrs. Schwab, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Patterson. Mr. Schwab will leave the first of the week to attend Nat ional Guard meeting at Camp Ripley, Minn., serving as a Lieutenant. The Schwab family will return to Daykin, August 25, and re sume his school work as prin cipal and coach. Shower Honors Mrs. McCollum Mrs. Chester Jenkins and Mrs. Wyant entertained at a pink and blue' shower ' Sunday for Mrs. Cecil R. McCollum. Guests played bingo and pri zes were awarded. Following the gift opening and the games, refreshments were served to fifteen guests. Neighbors Honor Departing Family Neighbors of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Burton of South Chicago Avenue gathered Tuesday evening at a farewell picnic for the couple and their daughter, Elizabeth Ann. - The Burtons will leave for the East over the weekend. Mr. Burton, Journal managing editor, has accepted a position as outdoor editor of the Balti more Sun, Baltimore, Md. MARRIED Jacklyn Lu Ann Hilt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph P. Hilt, became Hie bride of Philip T. Larkin, son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Larkin. The ceremony was performed at the Sacred Heart Church by Monsignor Joseph Osdick of Omaha. After a reception at Immaculate Conception Hall, the couple left on a ten day wedding trip to Colorado Springs, Colo. The ' bride with her parents are former Plattsmouth residents. The Mynard Merry Maids Win Ribbon the Mynard Merry Maids won a purple ribbon Friday evening at the Fun Festival at Weeping Water. They used the theme "Animal Parade." Mrs. Arnold Meisinger, pianist, accompanied the girls. This honor entitles them to go to the district contest at Te cumseh, Saturday. Mrs. Marion Wiles is the lead er of the 4-H club and was as sisted at the festival by all of the mothers of the girls. Mrs. Glen Wetenkamp is the assistant leader. r Members, of the club are 12 to 14 years old. They are: - Carolyn yinduska , Karen Till son, Patty Tomen, Dianna Wiles, Linda Abel, Patty and Janice McKinney. This group toured in Omaha recently ending the day with a theatre party. Many Visitors Here With T. H. Pollock Mrs. Lulu Patterson Nicker son; Mrs. Ralph Nickerson, her daughter, Mrs.' , Boiling, ' and grandson called at the T. H. Pollock home. The Nickersons formerly of Papillion, now of Omaha, were well, acquainted here. Mrs. Lulu Nickerson is the daughter of J. D. Patterson, founder of Naomi Institute at Rock Bluffs in the early days, whose written account of his life and .travels in Indian Terri tory and in Brazil are most .in teresting. Mrs. Virgil Perry, her daugh ter Mrs. Dean Morrison t and granddaughter, Laurie, were i' al so present, making the gather ing a double four generation party. Daughter Born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Benoit, a baby girl, August 14, weighing 9 pounds, 4 ounces, at the Methodist Hospital, Omaha. She has been named Paula Rene'. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Long cf Plattsmouth and Mrs. L. L. Benoit of New Iberia, La. Mrs. Ada Newton of Omaha and Mrs. A. B. Knight of Lake Charles, La., are the great grandmothers. Daughter - Born to Mr. and Mrs." Earl Larsen, the former Shirley Kou bek, a daughter born August 13, 1956 at St. Mary's Hospital in Nebraska City. Daughter To Mr. and Mrs. Lee Glenn, a baby girl, weighing 7 pounds, Trounces, August ' 12, 1956 at the Methodist Hospital, Omaha. She has been named Jeanne Marie. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Levi Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn of Texas. Two Permits To Wed Issued In Cass Court .
