Mrs. Robert McDonald, Mrs. Edward Nelsen were at the serving table. " The lace covered table was decorated in lavendar and yel low centered with garden flow ers. Mrs. Hans Jensen had the guest book, Mrs. Ted Wilson, the gifts. Helping with the serving were: Mrs. Rasmus Jensen, Mrs. Arthur Hansen, Mrs. Harry Crit ser,' Mrs. Walter Kusuli, Mrs. Tony Nielsen, Mrs. Ernest Jen sen, Mrs. James Jensen, Mrs.. Jukliul Nielsen, Mrs. Carter Nielsen and Mrs. Henry Dank leff. Mrs. Lackey was the former Lenora Nelson. They are living at 3330 "P" Street in Lincoln. ... Miss Bernice Cole of Great linger, Iowa, has be.en visiting at the Willis and Clyde Fletch er homes. Baptismal services were held Sunday for Debra Kay Koester, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clar ence Koester. Rev. -A. Zeilingar officiated. Sponsors Were Mrs. Wilbert Koester of Wateska, 111., and Mrs. George Wessel of A voca. Holy Trinity Guild met Tues day with Mrs. Carl Zaiser. Mrs. George Meyer, Mrs. Emil Lutz and Mrs. Oscar Zimmer er gave a report on the register. Mrs. Zimmerer also gave the national message. A committee ws appointed to get material for surplices for the altar boys. Green Thumbers Garden Club met Tuesday at the home of Mrs. William Dettmer. Pictures of the Schlifert gardens near Manley were shown. The I AH club met Thursday evening with Bonita Johnson. The picnic that was to have been Sunday was postponed. Mrs. Henry Dankleff led the devotional period. A mem orial , was held for a former member, Mrs. Robert Mickle. Mrs. Henry Smith led rith a fitting tribute. Mrs. Henry Mase man read the scripture. A miniature-garden was placed on the altar by Mrs. Albert Sill. Mrs. Caroline Marquardt read a poe,m, "Flowers For The Mas ters Bouquet." "la the Garden" was sung by Mrs; Calvin Car stens and Mrs. ,;Roy Ruhge. A poem, "Fern" was read by Mrs. Calvin Carsten. Prayer was given by Mrs. Henry Dankleff. The afternoon was spent in quilting. Mrs. Clarence King and Mrs. Marion Sutton honored Mrs. Fred Ruhge and Ronnie - at a pink and blue shower Sunday. Mrs. Ruhge and son received many gifts and a lunch was ser ved. Guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. John Wolph and children were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wills and family of Syracuse, Wayne Maddocks and Bill and Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Maddocks. Monday evening supper guests were Mr. and Mrs. Pete Krause and fam ily. ' Miss V-slIa Buckholz was honored at a miscellaneous bri dal shower Saturday at the Louis Allgayer home. Miss Carlenc Allgayer and Miss Marianna Linhardt were hostesses. Miss Buckholz will be wed Septem ber 15 to Richard Meyer. Mr. and Mrs. John Neumeister of San Jose, Calif., revealed their wedding January 4. She was the former Virginia Phil lips and he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Neumeister of San Jose. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ott, Richard Place of Nebraska City and Glen Place of Lincoln were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ruhge for a birthday sup per honoring Mr. Ott. Mr. and Mrs. John Emshoff sold their farm west of Avoca to Ralph Lindsay of Weeping Water. The Lindseys will move as soon as arrangements can be made. Rev. and Mrs. J. E. Aesch backer left Tuesday for a va cation v in -WVarsailles, Mo, to visit " relatives. Mrs. Dena Ruge and Frances returned Saturday from Bert- rand where they spent a week with relatives. Oswald Baier came home Sat urday from Bryan Memorial Hospital where he had surgery Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Will Baier re turned Tuesday after visiting at the home. of their son, Dwight and family at Kearney for sev eral days. They also attended a Jones famly reunion at Ogallala. Mrs. Elmer Kepler and iam ily visited at Harrison last week where he is employed. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Marquardt Robert and Ann were Sunday evening guests of her mother, Mrs. Bedelia Stander at Louis ville. Also present were Mrs. K. V. White and sons of Spring field, Mo. Twenty Nine Attend Tolhurst Reunion At The Hansen Home ELMWOOD (Special) The Tolhurst family had a reunion and picnic Sunday, August 5, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hansen in Lincoln. Mrs. Hansen is the former Bobby Tolhurst. There were 29 presenCwhich included Harry Tolhurst and family-. All.'Bxcept a sbnuvlaw who is in military service, were present. There was one marriage the past year in the Tolhurst family and one in the George Blessing, Jr., family. Also recorded was one birth. ' Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gonzales of Silver Springs, Md., and their four, children were,, also present. This was their last gathering before they left for home after a three weeks vacation. Mrs. Gonzales is the former Mary Tolhurst. The present year to date has surpassed even 1955, the most prosperous year the United States ever had, Commerce Sec retary Weeks declared.
