Mrs. Louisa Burr and Nellie Tucker of Broken Bow were visiting for a few days last week at the home of Mr. and C. M. Read. Mrs. Burr and Mrs. Read are sisters. Ed Wehrbein left this morning for a short visit in Missouri. Mrs. W. E. Hoschar held a miscellaneous shower in her home last Sunday afternoon honoring Minnie Mae Hoschar. it was well attended by rela tives., Mr. and Mrs. Herman s Hen nings visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Trisch last Thursday evening. Sandra Sue and Kurt Schaef fer departed for their home at Ames, Iowa, Monday morning after a brief visit with relatives in Plattsmouth. They are grand children of Mr. and Mrs. James Bulin. Suzie and Gerald Switzer of Omaha spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wil don Switzer of Nehawka. Miss Switzer has finished school in Omaha and is leaving for Mad ison, Wise, Friday. Mrs. Charles Koke entered the St. Catherine's Hospital in Omaha, Thursday and submit ted to surgery Monday. Mrs. Doyle Foster return ed home from the Methodist Hospital Sunday. Mrs . Helen Murdick and daughter, Katy, departed for their home in Grand Haven, Mich., Monday after a visit here with Mrs. Murdick's fath er, E. H. Wescott. Mr. and Mrs. Harley Cecil and Mr. and Mrs. David Ruth erford departed Thursday for a two weeks vacation in Spokane, Wash. They will be guests of Mr. Cecil's brother, the Reverend C. I. Cecil and family. H, M. Johnson visited his fam ily at Centerville, Iowa ' over the weekend. His family will move to Plattsmouth in the near future. Mr. Johnson is the ad vertising manager of The Platts mouth Journal. Police Chief John Hob scheidt and wife were re cent visitors in Kossuth County, . Iowa, where they were guests in the homes of their sons, George and John Hobscheidt. The Chief re ports the crops in good condition. Mr. and Mrs. Don Seivers of Omaha were Plattsmouth cal lers Monday. Mr. Seivers cal- ed at the Journal office and informed us that his daughter, Mrs. R. R. Noble and son of San Francisco, Calif., will ar rive this weekend. Mrs. Noble is the former Donna Bea Seivers. Miss Ann Egenberger, Mrs. L. W. Egenberger ana Miss Minnie Guthmann were visitors in Omaha Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. J. Leonard Mei- smger oi uenver, uoio., ana Miss Laura Meisinger will be dinner guests tonight of Mr. Meisinger's sister and brother- in-law, Mr. and Mrs Ludwig Miller of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs J. L. Meisinger of Denver. Colo.. Miss Ann Egenberger of Omaha and Miss Margaret Scotten were dinner guests of Miss Laura Meisinger and Mr. and Mrs L. W. Egen berger Wednesday night. Ron Schneider is a patient at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, where he underwent an appendectomy this mornmg Mrs. Robert Mann and sons, Teddy and Charlie departed this noon by train to visit relatives in Chicago. Robert Mann and daughter, Ruth, and Nancy Hirz will at tend the Kansas Shrine picnic at Carter Lake, Iowa, this evening. Houseguests this week at the Les Niel home are their grand children, Scott Lynn, Connie Louise and Sharon Elaine, chil dren of Mr. and Mrs Leslie Niel, Jr., of Central City. The parents are on a trip,' while the children are staying - here. Mr. and Mrs. Niel will return them to their home Saturday. - Susan Hansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Han sen, has returned home after a visit with her grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Norvell at Auburn. "Lindy" Wolever has begun a three weeks course in Driver's Training at the University of Nebraska. Mr. Wolever has been assigned to. the. coaching staff at Columbus lor the coming term and will instruct m the Driver's Trainirje. r I Richard Cotner, patient at the Veterans Hospital in Houston, Tex., submitted to surgery Thursday. Mr. Cot ner phoned his mother, Mrs. Ida Cotner, of this city and also talked with the Estil Jenkins family. It was learn ed that he had a disc re moved and is feeling better. Mr. Cotner is in Ward 305, bed 21. Piano students of Mrs. J. A. Capwell will be presented in a recital at the Lions Community building Saturday at 8 p. m. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Capwell of Lincoln were recent guests of Mrs. J. A. Capwell. Miss Helen Warga recently ar rived from Pittsburgh, Pa., for a visit at the home of her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. War ga. Miss Warga will spend her! vacation visiting her parents, and brothers and sisters, Ruth and Arthur Warga; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer J. Buechler and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Don ald Warga. Mrs. Charles Wolever and her father, Joe Libershal, have re turned home from Marquette, Mich., where they were called by family sickness. They were houseguestss at the home of August Libershal, brother of Joe Libershal. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gordon and son, Gary, of Superior were Tuesday evening din ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold. Gregg and family. , Recent visitors of Mrs. Sybil Hetrick were Mr. and Mrs. Her bert Young and daughter, Bar bara Ann, who live in Brooklyn, N. Y. They have been visiting relatives in Concordia, Kans., and Colorado, stopping in Platts mouth before returning to their home. Mrs. Young is a niece of Mrs. Hetrick. Mac Heitzhausen who has spent the last five summers at the Charles Spangler home in Murray i now working in Port land. Ore. He will enter his second year at Oregon State . in the Fall. Hugo Heyn of Omaha, was an overnight guest of her sister, Grace Livingston, last week. Mrs. Heyn has just re turned from a two month Euro pean trip. John Frady was taken to the St. Joseph Hospital by Caldwell-Linder ambulance Tuesday where he submit ted to an appendectomy Tuesday night. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Williams and family of Omaha were Sun day visitors at the Harold Wil liams home. Edward Williams of Topeka, Kans., and sons, were Sunday callers at the William Williams home. The boys remained in Plattsmouth while their mother Mrs. Edward Williams is in the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tucker and children are visitors at the Roy Knorr home, arriving Tues day morning. Mr. ard Mrs Knorr just recently returned home from Minnesota where they spent some time at their summer cottage on Sandas Beach. Captain and Mrs. Ted Xiber shal and five children are Platts mouth visitors arriving recent ly from Germany where three years were spent in service with the U. S. Army. Captain Liber shal is awaiting an assignment in Maryland. . Janie Beverage, of Boise, Idaho, has been a. houseguest of her sister, Mrs. Carl Tie kotter and family. . Mr. and Mrs Ed Egenberger and daughter, Joan, will leave Saturday for California to visit relatives and friends. Ron Schneider, Janice Cald well and Barbara Sullivan at tended a wedding in Lincoln Saturday. Barbara remained in Lincoln to participate in a rush committee meeting, returning home Monday. Warga was pleas antly surprised on Tuesday afternoon when she received a brief visit from a girlhood friend, Mrs. Ruth Brintnall Pot ter from Shaker Heights, Cleve land, Ohio. Mrs. Warga and Mrs. Potter had been school friends in Val ley City, Ohio, and had not seen each other for more than fifty years. Mrs. Potter is on a mid-western auto tour with friends, and included this brief visit to Plattsmouth to say "hello" to Mrs. Warga and her family. Murray Girl Gets Prizes On New York Television Show MURRAY Although Nancy Boedecker did not win the top prizes of a mink coat and trip to Paris, she was presented with many other gifts during her appearance on a Monday tele vision quiz show. Bruce Martin, Miss Boedeck er's fiance, answered the ques tions for her. Among the gifts she won were a wedding gown, dinnerware set, matched skirt and blouse, watch and an automatic wash er. Miss Boedecker is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boedecker of Murray. She and Mr. Martin plan to be married December 29. Former Plattsmouth Couple Noted 50th Wedding Anniversray Mr. and Mrs. John Nelson ob served their golden wedding an niversary Sunday at the Have- lock Methodist Church. Mr. Nelson served as foreman of the C. B. and Q. tin shop in Plattsmouth for ten years With the exception of the years spent here, the Nelsons have lived all their married life in Lincoln.
