Piper and Mr. Russell Men ges, son of Mr. and Mrs Louis Menges, of Plattsmouth and Mrs. Russell Paine of Omaha, were married Saturday July 14 by the Reverend Roy P morris, of the Murray Presbyterian Church. The wedding music was play ed by Mrs. Charles Spangler of Murray. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a street length white lace dress and hat, with all white acces sories. She carried a colonial bouquet of white gladioli and lily of the valley. Her bridesmaid, Miss Wanda Litle, wore a ligh blue street length dress with harmonizing accessories. Her corsage was Elna Bomberg Is Recent Bride Of Mr. Hodge: To Live in Omaha Miss Elna Bomberg, daughter! Mrs. George Jacobs, organist, of Mr. and Mrs. Tinus Bom-: accompanied Mrs. Richard Dyk berg, and Merlyn Hodge, son of j mann, soloist, offering the Mr. and Mrs. Jess Hodge, were married July 15 at the Presby terian Church in Plattsmouth. Reverend Keith Delap officiat ed at the double ring ceremony at two o'clock in the presence of close friends and relatives. Baskets of pink and white gladioli banked the church al tar. Three Couples Were Married Here Recently Cass County Judge Raymond J. Case read marriage lines at the court house in Plattsmouth, uniting the following couples. George W. Rice, Jr., 50, and Lula G. Thorsen, 49, both of Omaha, were married July 19. Witnessing the ceremony were .Thelma Kruger and Mrs. Es tella Rutherford. Also Roger A. Paul, 20, of Lincoln and Norma N. Winget, 16, of Alvo, July 21. Witnesses were Mrs. Arthur Paul of Lin coln and Mrs. Carl Winget, Alvo. Another couple married this week were John W. Rush, 33, of Waterloo, and Bonnie L. Can arsky, 24, Omaha, July 23, by Reverend G. E. Seybold. Wit nesses were Marion H. Loge mann and Jean Logemann both of Omaha. Larry Griffin Had 9th Birthday Here Larry Griffin noted his ninth birthday Monday at the W. E. Bayly home where he with his mother, Mrs. Harry Griffin, and twin sister and brother, Jerry and Janis Griffin are visiting from their home in California. Invited guests included Rich ard and Danny Haecke; Scott, Larry and Craig Smith and Mrs. Gertie Dill. Birthday cake and ice cream were served following a play period. The bride's mother and the bridegroom's mother wore white carnation corsages with lily of Ihe valley. The bridegroom and his hest man, Mr. Wayne Elders, were attired in blue suits. Mrs. Wayne Elders was in charge of the guest book and thai gifts. A reception following the cere mony was held at the home of the bride's parents in Platts mouth. Miss Wanda Litle and MLs Sharon Kneer cut the wedding cake and Mrs. Eieanor Ham served the ice cream. Mrs. Clarence Akeson poured coffee. After a trip to the Lake of the Ozarks, the couple will live in Plattsmouth. They are em ployed in Omaha. "Wedding Prayer." The bride, given in marriage by her father, appeared in all white, wearing a street length eyelet pique dress, princess style; a small hat, mitt gloves and she carried a, colonial bou quet of white carnations and lily of the valley. Pearls, the gift of the bridegroom ,was her only jewelry. Miss Pat Bailey, the maid of honor, wore a pink dress, styled as that of the bride, a pink hat and matching accessories. She wore a pink carnation cor sage. William McCormick, best man was. attired in a blue business suit, as was the bridegroom. Mrs. Bomberg chose a' blue linen dress with white accessor ies for her daughter's wedding. Her corsage "vas blue carnations and lily of the valley. The bride groom's mother wore a navy blue dress with white accessor ies. She wore a corsage of pink carnations and lily of the valley. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's par ents, where pink and white gladioli decorated the receiv ing room. A four tiered cake, baked by Mrs. Harry Porter, aunt of the bride, centered the pink satin with net overlaid decorated ser ving table. Mrs. LeRoy Mei singer served the ice cream; Mrs. Chester Lagerstrom pour ed coffee and Mrs. Ivar Bom berg cut the cake. Guests attending were : Mr. and Mrs. John Speck and family; ' Mr. and Mrs. Lester Gansemer and family Mr. and Mrs. Joey Haswell and Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Rhoden and chil dren. ; ; Also Mr. and Mrs Lyle Mei singer and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. Karl Senf and family; Mrs. Blanch Rhoden, Mrs. Annie Gansemer and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gansemer. Mynard Club To Have Picnic August 14th The Mynard Community Club members will hold their annual picnic August 14. The first picnic was held 28 years ago, the year the club was organized, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Wiles, west of Mynard. At this gathering it was voted to have a picnic the following year, but receive1 paying guests. ' That year the picnic was held in the grove of Mr. and Mr3. Ed Spangler, south of Platts mouth, where their son, Rich ard, now resides. The Platts mouth Ad Club attended as paying guests. From this time on the picnic was looked for ward to by; those wanting "their fill" of a great variety of foods to choose from served with the kind of hospitality special to summertime and country liv ing. On August 26, 1952 the mem bers held' the picnic at the My nard Community Hall celebrat ing their 25th year. More than 250 guests were served. A special invitation is always extended to the Plattsmouth Rotary Club, but everyone is welcome. Christ Lutheran Married Couples Form Church Club A married couples club was organized at the Christ Lutheran Church and selected the name of "Mr. and Mrs. Club." The following couples were elected officers: President Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Hennings; vice president Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hild; secretary and treasurer Mr. and Mrs. Tom Meisinger; program committee Mr. and Mrs. Bob Gay and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hild. Other members include Dr. and Mrs. Lentz; Mr. and Mrs. Er nest Bond; Mr. and Mrs. John Fusselman; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Puis; and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Parkening. The meetings will be held the third Sunday of each month at 8 o'clock. This includes a de votional period, program and social hour followed by refresh ments. Oehlerking Married IVIr. and Mrs. Myron Miss' Marilyn Louise Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. El mer D. Miller, of Murdock and Mr. Myron E. Oehlerking, son of Mr and Mrs. Alvin A. Oeh lerking; of Wabash were mar ried' July 19 at the Evangelcial United Brethren Church at Murdock. Reverend Richard A. Heim performed the eight in the eve ning ceremony before the church altar that was banked with large baskets of gladioli and majestic daisies and a flurry of candelabrum, in the presence of 300 guests.- , . - Mrs. Donald Boom of Naper- jville, 111., organist,' accompanied the soloist Roger Withee of Le Mars, Iowa. " The bride, given in marriage by her father, entered the i church gowned in chantilly lace and tulle spread over satin. Tulle banding edged with hand clipped lace scallops accented the decollete portrait, and the long sleeves smoothed to bridal points "Over the wrists. :The elongated lace bodice dramatiz ed the skirt of tulle froth fash ioned into alternating tiers of petite pleats and lace bands which fanned into a peacock train repeating the ruffled mo tif. A lace ruffled shell held her silk illusion veiling and she carried a white orchid on a white Bible. The maid of honor was Miss Rosalyn Miller of Murdock, sis-, ter of the bride. Bridesmaids were the Misses Eunice Oehler-i king and Ardyth -Oehlerking; both of Murdock and Mrs. Wal ter Zobel of Le Mars, Iowa. The bride's attendants wore identi cal waltz length gowns in white; lace over heavenly blue taffeta. The gowns featured scooped necklines falling over the shoul- ENGAGED - Mr. and Mrs. James Bole have announced the engagement of their daughter, Barbara Gayle, of Bellevue and Harold G. Wagner, son of Mr. ( and Mrs. Joseph E. Wagner of Plattsmouth. Miss Bole grad i uated from the Bellevue High School in 1956. Her fiance grad uated in 1953. The couple plan a November wedding. CALENDAR Thursday, July 26 American -Legion Auxiliary will meet Thursday, July 28 at 8 p. m. at the 40 and 8 Club room. Tiae Mae Henry "Girl Stater" will give an account of her week at Girls' State. Wednesday, August 1 Women's Association of the Presbyterian Church will meet Wednesday, August 1 at 8 p. m. Dr. Heineman will show pic tures of the work at Ganado. An offering for medical mis sions will be received. ' W - ! v f - - - E. Oehlerking ders and the full skirts fell from a wide cummberbund of taffeta which ended in a wide sash at the back. They wore matching picture hats and car ried cascade bouquets of, blue daisies. ,V The flower girl, JoAnn Luet chens of Wabash and the ring bearer, Janette Schrpeder of Kearney wore identical blue ny lon .tulle over taffeta dresses and matching picture hats. Mr. Marvin Oehlerking of Wabash was best man for his brother's marriage. Groomsmen were Elmer H. Miller of Mur dock, Walter. Oehlerking, Jr., of Elmwood and John Westphal of Aurelia, Iowa. Ushers were Verle Rieckman of Murdock and El don Oehlerking of Alvo. A reception following the ceremony was held in the church parlors. Assisting were Mrs. Ray Veach, Ella Delaney of Lincoln; W. M. Meier jurgen, Janet Kup ke, Mrs. Carl Meier jurgen, Mr. and Mrs. August Wilkens, Mrs. August Rieke, Mrs. Lee Rikli of Murdock; Mrs. Donald Freden burg of Elmwood; . Mrs. Wayne Swartz of Ashland; Beverly Buttermore of Le Mars, Iowa; Elizabeth Herman of Palmyra and .Jeanine Schliefert of Wa bash. The; Misses Maxine Miller of Murdock, Jo Ann Backemeier of Elmwood and Mary Swartz of Climbing Hill; Iowa, took care of the gifts. ' The bride is a graduate of Westmar College, Le Mars, Iowa. The bridegroom is attending the same college after service in the Armed Forces. After a trip to the Black Hills and Yellowstone Park' the cou ple will be at home after the first of August in Le Mars, Iowa. Daughter To Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sharp, a girl, born July 25, weighing six pounds, four ounces at St. Catherine's Hospital, Omaha. Grandparents are Mrs. Cora Smith of Watson, Mo., and Roy E. Sharp of Plattsmouth. Daughter To Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Propst of Kansas City, Mo., July 13, weighing six and one-half pounds. The girl has been named Laurie Sue. Grandpar ents are Mr. and Mrs. A. W.
