The DeFreece family and Mr. and Mrs. Armstohg, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Roy Everman of Wann, went to Peru Sunday where they attended Sunday School and church services and had a. basket dinner with Mr. Willis James and family who are attending school in Peru. Mr. James of Grand Island was also there for the day. Lynn James accompanied the Arm strongs home for a weeks stay. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne French and family of Grand Island were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Bower and family. Mrs. French and Mrs. Bower are sisters. Mrs. Oscar Laughlin was a Fourth of July guest of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Keller and her son, Wayne Laughlin, at the Keller home. Go To Quarry City Mr. and Mrs. Sam Long and family went to Weeping Water Fridav where Mrs. Long and her girls of the Sew and Sew 4-H club attended Judging Day. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Moffitt and family of Louisville sere Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Liles and family. Mrs. Emma Calder was a Sunday dinner guest of Mr. and Mr. John Jones and sons, Mrs. W. A. Jones spent the evening there. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Wescott of Lincoln were Fourth of July guests of Mrs. Wescott s uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Parrott. Anton Fisser of Hallam was a Sunday overnight guest of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klipp. Mr. and Mrs. John Raymond and sons spent Sunday evening at the George Eornman home. Wilbur Laughlin of Shenan doah, Iowa, and Miss Ruth Ful lerton of Omaha spent Sunday afternoon with John Laughlin and the Arthur Laughlin fam ily, t Visitors at the Harold Buell Home this past week were Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Hauschild and family of near Manley on Mon day evening. Lloyd Ansen, , Chalk Carter and Milton Cole of Nehawka on Tuesday evening and Thursday evening the Ben Buell family were there. Kathy Behrens of Omaha is a guest of Charlene Kolb this week. Mr. and Mrs Johnny Budd cf Sekiu, Wash., were Tuesday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Moore and sons were visitors at the Virgil Wriles home near Weeping Water Sunday. Mrs. Moore and Dewey spent Tuesday with Mr. and Mr. Fred Rueter. Dr. and Mrs. W. E. Ziegen bein and sons of Crete were Fourth of July guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Richards. Area Farmers Sell at Omaha Five Cass County farmers sold their stock on the Omaha Market this past Monday as hogs were lower in price and fat cattle held mostly steady. Area farmers selling were: Ted John, 11 steers and heif ers, average weight, 848 pounds, at $21.50 a hundred pounds. Bob Jameson, 10 heifers, aver age weight, 899 pounds, at $21.25 a hundred pounds. Charles Hoeke, 32 heifers, weight, 822 pounds, at $20.75. Tritsch and Meisinger, 20 steers, average weight, 1,362 pounds, at $22. L. B. Mougey and Son, 24 sows, average weight, 365 pounds, at $15. Practice Judging Is Carried Out at Recent 4-H School By Pearl L. Groesser Extension Agent WEEPING WATER One hun dred ten 4-H'ers and leaders at tended a practice judging school held in Weeping Water July 6. Three schools were in progress at the same time. Mrs. Ervin Albert assisted with the be ginning sewing group. They se lected material for aprons, judged hand towels, pot holders and grouped aprons. The 4-H ers in skirt and blouse projects selected mater ials for skirts and blouse com binations. They judged skirts, blouses and grouped skirts and blouses. The advanced clothing 4-H'ers selected materials to go with patterns and told of their se lections. They judged pattern lay-outs, school summer clothes and school winter clothes.
