Donald Fujeyashi of Wailua, Oaha, Hawaii was guest speaker Sunday morning at the First Congregational Church in Weeping Water. Rev. Fujeyashi is minister of New Daughter Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Knott are the parents of a baby girl, Roxanr.e Marie, weighing five pounds, 15 ounces, born Thurs day morning at St. Marys Hos pital in Nebraska City. Grand parents are Mrs. Grace Harter, of Weeping Water and Mrs. Em ma Knott of Omaha. Mrs. Knott and daughter arrived home from the hospital Sunday afternoon. Ramona Gardner, Charles Se eger, Irene Johnson and Sara Jensen spent last week at the Methodist Youth Fellowship camp, Camp Comeca, near Co zad. He plans to attend the Western Pastors School in Colorado Springs, Colo., this month. A twilight covered dish sup per was held Sunday evening with oriental food featured. The supper was prepared by Mr. Fujeyashi. A worship service and camp fire was held following. Approximately 30 were in at tendance. Sponsor was the Pilgrim Fellowship. Is Discharged Jack Norris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Norris, arrived home Friday night after receiv ing his discharge from the ser vice. Clarence had returned home Thursday from Rochester Minn., where Mrs. Norris has been hospitalized. Saturday they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wood and daughters. On Sunday Clarence and Jack re turned to Rochester in hopes that Mrs. Norris could return home with them this week. a . ' I . - ; ' - ' kZi ' I ; . h . - ill Picnic Supper Mr. and Mrs. Fred Old's and sons, Alan and Gary of Stockton, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rice and son, Marty, of Dodge City, Kans., and Mr. and Mrs. William Winters and son, Bil ly, of Eagle enjoyed a picnic supper at the Billy Ketelhut home Monday evening. Mrs. Rice is the daughter of the late Rhynard Ketelhut, a former Eagle resident. Mr. and Mrs. August Schweg man were honored Sunday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church basement, following the morn ing worship services, June 24 for the Schwegman's twenty fifth weddins anniversary. The Dorcas Society members and families were nresent. They al so honored the fifty third wed ding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schwegman. Rev Hackman spoke in the after noon. Thursday, July o, iyoo &ecuon o jtkj Mr. and Mrs. Pat Wade are the parents of a baby daughter born Sunday morning at Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln. She weighed six pounds and 11 ounces, prandparents are Mrs. Lelia Fitzpatrick of Lincoln and Mrs. Wade of Weeping Water. The Wades have another daugh ter, Patty. Mrs. Ethel Hermann and chil dren, Betty, Ruth Ann and Leo nard arrived home Friday eve ning after spending two weeks in Phoenix, Ariz., visiting Mr. and Mrs Wilmer Hermann and Rocky. While there they drove to Mexico for a day. They saw many beautiful sights around Phoenix and had an enjoyable time. READY TO MARCH Plattsmouth Navy Mothers marched in a recent parade of the Dis trict Encampment of the Navy Mothers Camp No. 42 of Omaha. The ladies are members of the Navy Mothers Club of Plattsmouth and were invited to participate in the parade by the Vet erans of Foreign Wars. Homcmakers Club Hears Discussion On Readers Meet EAGLE! O' Street Homemak ers Extension Club met at the home of Mrs. Clarence West lake recently with 10 club mem bers present. Home Extension Club Creed was read by all, followed by singing "My Nebraska." President Ula Westlake con ducted a short business meet ing and tie meeting was turned over to Olive Westlake who gave a very interesting talk on Rural Reader's Conference in Lincoln. Refreshments were served by the hostess. Next meeting to be July 16 at the home of Mrs. Laura West. Dorcas To Meet The Dorcas Society will meet at the church basement Wednes day afternoon with Mrs. Or ville Schmieding and Mrs. John Schroeder, as co-hostesses. Con ducting the lesson with topic discussion, "What Independence Day means to the Christian", will be Mrs. Claud Gerhard and Mrs. .Morris Snavely. There were approximately 35 persons attending the 6:30 p. m. picnic with a visiting hour held following. WEEPING WATER (Special) The Cascade Charity Club met Wednesday, June 27, at the home of Mrs. William Erhart with 12 members present and one guest, Mrs. Bertha Kunz. Just following the business meeting a silent auction for the contents of a sewing basket was held, with the proceeds going into the club treasury. The rest of the afternoon was spent visiting with the hostesses serving refreshments. The'next meeting will be Wed nesday, July 25, at the home of Mrs. Henry Irons. WEEPING WATER (Special) An annual picnic was dis cussed by members of the Ruth Circle of the Methodist Church during their meeting June 21. The nicnic is planned for 6 p.m. July 15 at Steinhart Park in Nebraska City. President of the circle, Mrs. Don Rutledge, presided at the meeting. Mrs. Richard Laurit zen presented the lesson and devotions were led by Mrs. Phil lip Dwinnel. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. Earl Cook and Mrs. Bernard Johnson. Mr. and Mrs Charles Gibson of Weeping Water, Mr. and Mrs. George Gregory of Fairbury and Mrs. Thessie Adkins of Lincoln were Sunday dinner guests of Miss Amana Hiatt of Lincoln. The shower was honor ing Mrs. Chris Salberg, nee Karen Gess. A small table was centered with a cake shaped as two baby booties. Games were played. Mrs Salberg received many lovely gifts. It was planned that the Al bert Kirkhoff 's will be in charge of the meeting place for the famUy gathering in 1957. The Evening Eagle Extension Club met recently with Mrs. Donald Schmidt. Mrs. Norval Utemark, one of the members of the club, is moving soon and the members honored her by eivine her a farewell gift. The lesson on "Accessories with Dis tinction", was demonstrated and conducted by Mrs. Orville Schmieding and Mrs. Morris Mueuchau. The club will omit the July meeting. They plan ned a family picnic August 26. Week-E Serve As Stewards Susan Wood and Maribelle Elliott are stewards at the Nat ional Pilgram Fellowship Coun cil which is being held at Doane College in Crete. They left last Wednesday and will return home this Thursday. The Kirchhoff family reunion was held June 24 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Kirch hoff and Diane. In the after noon they drove to Omaha where they visited with Mrs. Mary Linder and Susan Mr. and Mrs. Fred Muenchau attended the Robeler family re union ar Bethany Park in Lin coln Sunday. M Sgt. and Mrs. Gayle Mueu chau of Washington, D. C. are the proud parents of a baby girl, Debra Lynne. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mueuchau are the pater nal grandparents. The baby's weight was 4 pounds, 11 ounces and was advised that she re main at the hospital a few days longer, when the mother re turned to her home. Both are doing fine. Attend Funeral Mr. and Mrs. Harold French and family and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Ketelhut of Eagle and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ketelhut, of Lincoln, parents of Mr. Ket elhut, and Mrs. French attend ed the funeral services of Mrs. Henry Ketelhut's sister, Mrs. Emma O'Brien, 74, at Geneva, Tuesday. Mrs. O'Brien is the former Emma Spratt, and lived near Elmwood and Palmyra prior to moving to Geneva. The Pleasant Hill Club mem bers met Thursday afternoon at Mrs. August Schwegman's home The club will not meet again until September. The John Stoltz family of Elmwood visited at the home of Mr. Stoltz's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Anderson, Tuesday evening. The Women's Society of Chris tian S e r v ice met Wednes- dav. Mrs.- Walter Jacobmeier and Mrs. Sherman Henriksen were co-hostesses. Mrs. Freda Wall conducted the devotionals and Lucille Westlake led the les son. Mrs. Henry Wulf injured her arm and was attended by the doctor for several days. Mrs. Bertha Wulf and son, Aaron Vance and family, return ed to their home in Sherman Oaks, Calif., Wednesday.
