Following the luncheon a iihort program was held with Mrs. Harold Domingo as toast mistress. Mrs. Claire Beach gave the mother's welcome, with Miss JoAnne Bender, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Bender, giving th Mrs. Lynn Roth Is Elected Head Of Weeping Water Ladies Unit The Junior Christian Womens Fellowship met Thursday after noon with Mrs. David Baxter. Mrs. Lynn Rothe conducted the business meeting. Nine members answered roll call by repeating a verse of the Bible learned that month. The nut cups were tiny bird houses with re movable tops which disclosed the mints inside. The centerpiece on each table was a story book doll under an archway covered with tiny flowers. Other decorations on the tables were miniature bird baths with birds, flower trellises, bird houses, gazing globles on ped- estals, flower carts, small lily ! pond and bird figurines. All I decorations were made and ar I ranged by Mrs. Murray Mutter. writh the senior group for ser vice projects. The members voted to buy another folding table and also to send money to Cotner Col lege in Lincoln. Each member voted to pledge $5 each. Tables were also bought, one each by the Crusader Class and the Christian Endeavor. A Thank You note was read from Janey Schroeder, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Schroeder who is con vale sing at her aunt and uncles at Couquillo, Ore., for gifts sent by C. W. F. Lunch was served after fel lowship prayer. Family Reunion Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Ed Van Horn and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Freeman, Mrs. Ed Free man attended the Thompson family reunion at Auburn. About 60 attended the picnic dinner and supper. Weekend Visitors Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Peck and family of Blair visited Saturday night and Sunday with. Mrs. Vesta Baker. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Taylor and family of Lincoln visited with Mrs. Hattie Taylor, Mrs. Baker and the Pecks. Sunday evening they enjoyed a picnic in the park. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Baker, Sandy and Randy, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nor ris, left Friday afternoon for Estes Park, Colo. They spent Saturday driving through Rocky Mountain National Park and Forrest, staying that evening in Colorado Springs. They arrived back home early Sunday eve ning. Approximately 30 attended the wiener roast for the members of Christian Endeavor held Sun day evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ehlers. Sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Liv ingston, Elmer Terry and Ray Ward. Christian Church Farewell Luncheon Features Hymnals WEEPING WATER (Special A farewell basket dinner was held Sunday afternoon at the Christian Church honoring Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kafoid. After the meal, musical -numbers-highlighted the afternoon. Mr. Kafoid accompanied by Mrs. Maurice Hammons at the piano led the group in hymn singing. Other musical numbers were sung by a quartet which in cluded S. H. . Harmon, Cyrus Livingston, Harrison Livingston, and Ray Ehlers. They were ac companied by Mrs. Harmon. A womens sextet consisting of Mrs. Kafoid, Mrs. Leon Bond, Mrs. Lynn Rothe, Mrs. Maurice Hammons, Mrs. David Baxter and Mrs. Ray Ehlers was ac companied by Mrs. Harmon. A mixed quartet consisting, of Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Harmon, Mrs. Kafoid and Cyrus Living ston also sang. Mr. Leon Bond gave a short talk which was responded to by Mr. Kafoid. The afternoon was closed with everyone singing the Doxology. Rainbow Girls Meet To Plan Family Picnic WEEPING WATER (Spceial) The regular meeting of the Rainbow Girls was held Tues day evening. Plans wrere made for initia tion to be held at the next reg ular meeting, July 3. Plans were also made for the annual family picnic to be held July 8, at Steinhart Park in Nebraska City. They will swim in the after noon, with a picnic supper fol lowing at 5 pm. Mr. and Mrs. Don Livingston and girls spent Sunday in Au burn with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stodderd. They spent the day picnicking, fishing and swim ming. She is getting along as well as can be expected. Her husband is with her and will remain there to bring her home. Delmar and Verna Neeman, son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. U. Bowman of Weeping Water, were examined and ac cepted as members of Lutheran Missouri Synod in the Soloman rite confirmation at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Weeping Water on Sunday, June 24, by Pastor Carlton C. Spatzek. This was the first confirmation serv ices to be held in the new church. Eighty-one persons were present to witness the cere monies. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Strack and family of Omaha spent Sunday afternoon and evening with Mrs. Arthur Schmidt and boys. A group of young mothers turned out for the Sew 'n Sews meeting last Wednesday eve ning at the home of Mrs. Ar thur Schmidt. An enjoyable eve ning was spent sewing and vis iting, followed by a delicious lunch. WEEPING WATER CSDecial) Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knaup left Wednesday for Chicago where they will attend the graduation of their son, Rodney Knaup, from Worsham College of Mortuary Science. They will return home Satur day. Rodney graduated from Weeping Water High Schoo and also attended Peru College for two years. He will take his apprenticeship at the Hobson Funeral Home here Women's Fellowship Chooses Officers At Plunkett Home WEEPING WATER (Special) Thursday afternoon, Mrs. Vic tor Plunkett was hostess to the Senior group of the Christian Women's Fellowship. Mrs. Leo Christensen opened the business meeting with Mrs. Mable Breckenridge calling the roll and reading the minutes. Mrs. Cyrus Livingston, assist ed by Mrs. Henry Knaup, led the devotions. The group set their financial goal for the com ing year. They voted to buy a case to put the new tables in They also voted to send mon ey to Cotner "College. New officers voted on at this meeting were Mrs. Leo Christen sen, chairman; Mrs. S. H. Har mon, secretary and treasurer; Mrs. Henry Knaup, worship chairman; Mrs. Ralph Lindsey, music chairman. The afternoon was adjourned with the CWF prayer. The hostess served a delicious lunch. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Derby and family were visitors at the Arthur Derby home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Beauford Clink- enbeard and David joined them at supper. Undergoes Surgery Mrs. Harry Reed underwent surgery last Wednesday at St. Josephs Hospital in Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Darreld Reed visited - her Saturday evening. She was doing very well. Visit Over Weekend Mrs. Willis Rhodes and child ren of Kearney spent the week end at the Elmer Johnson home. While here Mrs. Rhodes and Mrs. Johnson visited Nancy Gauer who is recuperating after an appendectomy performed Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Beauford Clink- enbeard visited Mr. Clinken- beard's father, Ira Clinkenbeard of Plattsmouth, at the hospital where he underwent an eye op eration Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Stoehr were among those to help Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Meisinger cel ebrate their anniversary at their home. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Tennant spent Sunday night and Monday ! at the M. K. Schroeder home in Syracuse last week. Mark Heil spent Sunday after noon with Steve Group. Air. and Mrs. C. Wilsons and family of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ramge and family of Plattsmouth, Mr. and Mrs. Or ville Cordes and family were guests at a family dinner at the Fred Cordes home Sunday.
