H. Oehler king,; Elmwood, to Raymond Kuhlenengel, Syracuse, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Kuhlen cngel, Dunbar. Th3 8 ol'cock service was solemnized in the presence of 259 guests, by the Rev.-J. II. Oehkrking, Archer, ths bride3 uncle, assisted by the Rev. T. II. Kampman, pas tor, Elmwood. Miss Joan Backemeyer, Elm- j wood, played the wedding mu sic, and accompand Clark Marshall, Avoca, the soloist. The bride wore a gown of her own d3sign, floor length, long sleeves, fitted bodice of lace and irridescent sequins, styled with a standing V-shaped collar. The rest of the gown which featured a bouffante skirt, long torso, was I of antique taffeta, floor length. Her finger tip veil of French illusion was held in place with a cap, mada of lace and -sequins as the dress. She wore a pearl necklace, a gift of the bridegroom. She carried a colonial bouquet, blue painted daisies with a margin of white daisies. Bridesmaids were Miss Caro lyn Stock, Murdock, and Mrs. Melvin Kuhlenengel, Syracuse. All -the bridesmaids wore iden tically styled gowns as the maid of honor. Candlelighters were Miss San dra Manzel and Bobby Manzel, Bellevue. . In charge of the guest book was Miss Margaret Vogt, Wa bash. Miss Ardyth Oehlerking, Wabash, and Miss Sharon Fre denburg, Elmwood, helped with the gifts. After a honeymoon to Den ver, Colo., the couple will be at home June 25, on a farm near Syracuse. The bride wore for traveling an embroidered linen duster over a black sheath dress. Her accessories were black. She wore an aqua hat, gloves and a yel low rose corsage. The bride attended Nebraska Wesleyan University, and has been on the faculty of Bellevue Public Schools. The bridegroom has beent farming near Syracuse. Bible. School At Ch r 1st Luthera n Church Terminates Vacation bible school at Christ Lutheran Church closed June Sth after convening the past two weeks. Fifty-live students" were en rolled. The -theme for study was "Companions for Christ." Crafts were included with the studies. Teachers , were Mrs: Forrest Engelkemeier, Mrs. Gerald Mei singer, Mrs. DeLoss Bond and Dr. A. Lentz. Mrs. Glen Kraeger was assistant teacher. Helpers were Misses Janet Friedrich, Dorothy Stoehr and Janette Al bert. Certificates" of merit and per fect attendance awards of tiny crosses were given the closing day. The group was treated to ice cream bars. Avoca Girl Married At Lutheran Church AVOCA (Special) Miss Dar lene Carlson, Lincoln, became the bride of Warren H. Hagel Pitt of Syracuse in a ceremony at First Lutheran Church of Avoca Friday, June 8. Rev. Al vin Zeilinger read the lines be fore an altar lighted with white candled candelabra and ap pointed with bouquets of white gladioli and blue iris. The bride appeared in a gown of white imported lace fash ioned in a colonial mode. Shal low scallops of the lace edged the rounded neckline and long tapered sleeves completed the sculptured bodice. Her illusion veil trimmed with lace was held by a lace tiara. She carried a white Bible marked with a lav ender orchid and showered with stephanotis. The attendants were Mrs. Duane Sinn, Alexandria, sister of the bride, matron of honor; Miss Anna Mae Emshoff, Avoca, j and bridesmaids Miss Mary Jane Dickman, Avoca, Miss Shirley Mueller, Syracuse, were gowned in identical frocks of pastel blue lace. Miss Susan Carlson and Miss Marcia Conradi, cousins of the bride, were flower girls. Light ing the tapers were Sharon Lud wig and Betty Heiser. Jack Bassler was best man and ushering were Duane Carl son, Duane Sinn and Bill Tho man. 1 At the organ, was Miss Kath lene Leefers, Avoca, accompany ing soloist Gary, Danke of Syra cuse. r;-f- (' -;.. - Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Carlson, Syra cuse. The v bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Irene Hagel-Pitt. The bride is a granddaughter of Mrs. Henry Ludwig. The couple will make their home in Lincoln where they are both employed. 'Mission In Song" I Was The Lesson At Church Meeting Women's missionary society of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church met at the home of Mrs. Fred Wehrbein June 13. Mrs. John Hild presented the lesson on "Missions in Song" by Margaret C. Gold. She was as sisted by Mrs. Glen Kraeger at the piano. . The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Joseph Puis, president. ' Gifts amounting to $2,134.69 were received by Ta bitha Home at the shower given for the Home at the spring con ference at Omaha. Quarterly thank offering was observed along with the monthly offer ing. Offerings chairman .Mrs. Forrest Engelkemeier, was in charge. Visitors were Mrs. August Keil, Mrs. Gerold Keil, Dennis and Rodney and Philip Meisinger. The July meeting will be held at the church parlors with Mrs. John Fusselman presenting the lesson on "Wings, Wheels, and Bows" by Katherine Dietterle Benion. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess. Couple Honors Son And Nephew At Picnic Supper Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hild were hosts to a family and friend gathering at their home Wednesday evening. The occasion honored their son, Lieut. Gary Hild who is home on leave from Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and their nephew, Tom Livingston who is home from Texas A and M College. . The honorees will leave for Ft. Sill Friday where Lieut. Hild will resume his regular duties and Tom will train for ROTC Junior Summer Camp in Field Artillery until Aug.3rd. Tom will return to his col lege, after ROTC Training where he " will study with a fellow stu dent and prepare for a debate that, is scheduled for Aug. 27, 23 and 29th in Calif.
