Mrs. Robert Maack and in fant son, who has been named Warren Lee returned home from St. Catherine's Hospital Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Bailey honored their daughter, Martha Dean, on her birthday Wednes day evening when they were hosts at a picnic supper at their home. Their guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dean, Mrs. W. P. Bailey and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Dean and daughters. Mrs. P. R. Felker and her daughter, Mrs. Leonard Ham ilton, and children, Berniece, Phillip and Charles, all of Mis soula, Mont., were last week house guests bf Mrs. Felker's nephew and family, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Felker. Fairland Giants The Fairland Giants 4-H Baby Beef Club met at the home of Bernard Dill near South Bend, Sunday afternoon. The business meeting was held on the lawn under the trees where it was cool. A discussion on judging their calves was held. Later, they went on a hayrack ride north of the Dill farm to the river, where the boys explored the banks before having lunch. The next meeting will be July 22, at the Fairland school house. Groundbreaking Several from this vicinity at tended the regular church ser vices at the Christian Church Sunday and after the service went across the street from the present parsonage to the lot purchased last spring and a ground breaking ceremony for the new parsonage was held. Wayne Dale Wiles of Nehaw ka was a weekend visitor at the .Harold Kellogg home. Ad ditional Sunday dinner guest were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wiles all went to the Fred Rueter home in Alvo to visit Mrs. Grace Pollei and daughter, Car olyn, who came that day from Rosebud, Texas. Honor Their Father The Kolb families honored their father, Chris Kolb, urith a Father's Day picnic at the Memphis Lake Sunday. Those present were Oren Kolb, Del mer Kolb and Edgar Kolb fam ilies, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Timm and family of Elkhorn, Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Swanson and family of Ceresco and Miss Elsie Otto. A Father's Day dinner was held at the Martin Stenberg home. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Stenberg, Janet and Mary Jo of Council Bluffs, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Buckmaster, Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Hunt, George and Carol, Mr. and Mrs. Nels Stenberg and Kenneth Stenberg were guests. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nel son and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Richards went to the Orville Sandy home in Greenwood for a Sandy picnic for Father's Day. There were 25 present for the pleasant evening. Attend Funeral Mr. and Mrs. John B. Peterson attended the funeral of Mr. Peterson's aunt, Mrs. Addie Peterson in Omaha, Saturday forenoon. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Weston and Eugene and Mrs. Keith Weston and daughters spent Friday eve ning with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Roeber, John and Merry Sue. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Miller and family were Monday eve ning visitors at the Peter Stan der home. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Wescott of Lincoln were Sunday, dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.' Dave Parrott. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Lydiatt and Steve were Sunday eve ning visitors with Mr. and Mrs. John B. Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bontz and Mrs. Harry Farmer were callers at the Peterson home this past week. Asley Boiler went to the Vet erans Hospital Monday to visit Harley Mueller of Columbus. Mr. Boiler and Mr. Mueller were company buddies and re turned from overseas on the same ship. The DeFreece family had spent Friday night and Sat urday with Mr. DeFreece's father, Cliff DeFreece, and Mr. and Mrs. James Runnells and Jimmy in Omaha. Dies In Ashland Mrs. Maude Barrow, a long time resident of South Ashland passed away at the Ashland nursing home Thursday. The funeral was held Saturday aft ernoon. Several from this vic inity attended. Mrs. Barrow had been in failing health for some time.
