Several of the boys in the annual Cass County track meet at Nebraska Wesleyan won sev eral awards, including Don Al len, Arnold Shroder, Gene Rod- away, and Duane Umland. Visits With Friend Mrs. Sherman Hardaway of Wabash spent last Thursday at the home of her friend, Mrs. O. E. Underwood. Mrs. Laura West returned home last Monday evening after spending three weeks at the home of her son and family, the Richard West's, at Granite City, 111. She suffered the flu dur ing her last week's stay. Mrs. Arthur Reitter, sister-in-law of the Misses Caroline and Freda Reitter, accompanied Rev. and Mrs. Panzer of Sacramen to, Calif., to Lincoln to visit her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Ry- erson, at the city. The pastor continued on to Minnesota to attend the Methodist Confer ence and Mrs. Panzer will also visit relatives in Lincoln during his official duties at the con ference. Eagle Auxiliary Party Is Enjoyed: Women Top Men By Bertha Caddy Auxiliary Reporter EAGLE Eagle American Legion Auxiliary had its birth day party recently with eight members present. Six of them brought their husbands. A delicious supper was enjoy ed and iWhen everything was cleared away 12 of the party played cards, the other two sat and visited as they didn't know how to play. Two couples were high, so they played and the two women won, namely Evelyn Ransford and Nora Ketelhut. A. good time was had by all and all went home in the rain that was pour ing down, but it was welcome. The Athletic and Activities banquet was served by the Women's Society of Christian Service on Friday evening spon sored by the EagJe Lion's Club. Marion Wulf was toastmaster. Awards were presented the stu dents for music, Mrs. Stock; Athletic, Doyld Gump; vocation al Agriculture, Norval Utemark; special awards by Sup't O. L. Schmieding. Mr. George Binger was the speaker for the evening Eagle residents were sorry to hear of the tornado destruction at the Harry Frohlich farm near Cortland early Saturday morn ing. The Frohlichs are former Eagle residents living on a farm three miles east of Eagle. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Frohlich and other relatives live near Eagle. Mr. and Mrs. George Winkler accompanied their two daugh ters and their husbands, the Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fleishman, and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Gerhard to near Manley and spent the day at another daughter's home, the Mr. and Mrs. Lawerena Krecklow's, on last Sunday. En route home the above folks called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Brunkow at Alvo. Mr. Brunkow is ill at his home. A brother, Albert Brunkow from California is at the Brunkow home and assisting in the care of his brother, who has been ill for several months.
