Bag Over Past Week: 4-H Club Met By Mrs. Henry Maseman AVOCA (Special) Pine Ridge 4-H Club met with Beverly and Ronnie Wohlers Saturday. The leader, Wayne Pederson, told them about the 4-H Sunday. The club will have to do judg ing at the fair. Mrs. Wohlers served a tasty lunch. Henry Oldenberg entered St. Mary's Hospital Sunday to be under medical observation. His mother, Mrs. Dora Oldenberg, was also ill. She was taken to the Albert Bose home for a few days. Among those attending the annual spring convention of Federated Garden Clubs at Ne braska City Monday were Mrs. Hans Jensen, Mrs. Albert Sill, Mrs. J. H. F. Ruhge, Mrs. Paul Linhardt, Mrs. Kenneth Wessel, Mrs. Will Baier, Mrs. Ernest Emshoff, Mrs. Caroline Mar quardt, Miss Bertha Neumeister. The ladies took part in a tree dedication to Mrs. Ernest Over ton of Nebraska City. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Ruhge were Rev. and Mrs. N. F. Horn, Elmwood, Mrs. Roda Erns, Elmwood, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dumke of Avo ca, Danny Stohlman of Louis ville. Several guests visited at the Lee Hauftmans Tuesday and Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs Ernest Hauftman and Mrs. Fan nie Hauftman of Auburn. Thurs day guests were Mr. and Mrs. Herb Koerwitz of Deshler. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hallstrom spent the weekend at Mitchell, South Dak., with relatives there. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stubben dick are the parents of a daugh ter born at Syracuse Memorial Hospital April 23. Mrs. Stub bendick is the former Evelyn Stovall. Mrs. Laura Stovall of Kearney is the grandmother. Wedding Of Son Mrs. Hattie Ehlers and Mrs. Katie Opp of Weeping Water ac companied Mr. and Mrs. Allen Ehlers to the wedding of their son, Allen Ehlers, Jr., to Carol Blessing Sunday. Woman's Fellowship of the Congregational Church met with Mrs. Fred Marquardt and Mrs. Caroline Marquardt Thursday at the church parlors. Mrs. Hen ry Dankleoff led the devotional period. Mrs. Floyd Mohr entered St. Marys Hospital Thursday for medical observation. The I.A.H. Club met Thurs day evening in the church par lors. Mrs. Henry Maseman and Mrs. Martha Ruge were hostess es. Allen and Gary Hennings, Omaha, spent several days last week with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hennings. On Sunday their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Hennings, came to get them. Visit In Lincoln Mr. and Mrs. Myron Shroder were Saturday evening guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hen ry Maseman. Mrs. Paul Straub, District 80 teacher, and parents of her pu pils went on a tour to Lincoln where they visited Morrill Hall, Penitentiary and the Capitol. Mr. and Mrs. John Compton, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Ruhge visited at the Herman Brun kow home near Alvo Tuesday evening. Mrs. Walter Noerrlinger en tertained her club Tuesday. They did fancy work for the hostess. The Green Thumbers Club visited the pottery plant at Louisville Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Freeman visited his mother, Mrs. Ed Free man, at Weeping Water Thurs day night. Mr. and Mrs. John Lingle, Sr., visited at the Louis Carsten home Thursday evening. Returns Home Mrs. Caroline Marquardt' was able to return home Sunday. She has been ill at the home cf her son, Fred. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mather and family. of Calhoun were Satur day supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Freeman. Thursday eve ning Glen Place and Robert Pfann of Lincoln were supper guests. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Meyer and son arrived here from In diana Tuesday where he has been living. He will work in Omaha. Miss Evelyn Freudenberg took her pupils of Pine School on a sight seeing tour to Nebraska City Thursday. They visited Acoma Foods, News Press, Ar bor Lodge, Otoe Foods, Coca Cola and the greenhouse. Mr. and Mrs. William Bergas- traesser of Lincoln were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Silas Everett. The bake sale Saturday of the Guild was well attended in spite of bad weather. Mrs. Nancy Carsten received the cake on which numbers were sold. Mr. Rue- melin and Mrs. Cordes are brother and sister. Mrs. Elmer Sprieck and daughters -called at the Elmer Johnson, home Friday morning. Airplane Rides Mr. and Mrs. Richard Whit- more and family of Crete vis ited over the weekend at the Ervin Albert home. Together, they drove to the Weeping Wa ter Airport where the scouts were taking plane rides. Mr. and Mrs. John Ritter and Mr, and Mrs. Melvin Reed and Rita spent Sunday at the Frank Teijs home north of Omaha. Dr. and Mrs. Donald Jackson and family of Omaha and Mrs. Schrader Rhoden spent Sunday at the Floyd Gauer home. Mr. and Mrs. Errett Wiles and Mr. and Mrs. Lestor Tennant called at the George Baur home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hlavac and family were among those accompaning the cub scouts at the Airport at Weeping Water where they were taken for rides.
