The bride wore a pink silk gown fashioned with a square neck line decorated with bands of em broidery, with a sleeveless, fit ted long . bodice on a full bal lerina length skirt. She wore a small white chappea on her head, and carried a.sr .all white Bible, a white orchid, and long white satin ribbon . streamers tied with white carnation buds. The .bridesmaid was Charlene Mcller, who' wore a pink and white checked silk gown with square neckline, sleeveless and long fitted, bodice on.full length ballerina skirt. She wore a small white hat -Her corsage was of white carnations.. ' Jim Stock served as best iman, like the " bridegroom, wore the conventional black. The ceremony took place in the presence of members of the immediate families of the bride and groom. The mother of the i bride, also the mother of the bridegroom, wore a corsage of white carnations. The serving table was set with a white linen cloth, centered with a three tier "wedding cake decorated with pink and white roses and wedding bells. Light ed candles were at both' ends of the table. The bride cut the cake, and Mrs. Clarence Rueter served. Mrs. Arthur Norris, sister of the bride, poured the coffee, and Mrs. Frank Turner served ths ice cream. Also assisting with the serving was Mrs. Emil Rose now. Mrs. ' Grace Blessing and Mrs. Arthur Norris had charge of the gift table. Guests were a group of ladies that were members of the same bridge club as the out-of-town guests when they lived iri Platts mouth. t ' Bridge 1 was the diversion of the afternoon. Carlburg have just completed the resale of their' property to Mr. and Mrs. Donald L. Christensen of Toepka, Kans. Mrs. Christensen is the former Janice Yardley of Plattsmouth. Mr. and Mrs. Carlburg are for mer residents of this city, now of Omaha. Mrs. Carlburg was a caller at The Plattsmouth Journal and re ports her daughter, Mrs. Edna Hansen, is enjoying her vaca tion in Denmark. Because of the dock strike they had to land in Sweden. They covered 3500 miles by boat, having a rough voyage all the way. They find! the. weather foggy and rainy. Mrs. Hansen and her husband plan three months trip abroad visiting relatives. Kindergarten Glass Gives P-T.A. Program The morning and afternoon Kindergarten classes of the First Ward School opened the pro gram of the Parent .Teacher As sociation meeting Tuesday evening.- ; The morning class presented the story of the "Little Red Hen" and the afternoon class "The Modern Peter Rabbit" and both classes offered songs and verses under the direction of Mrs. Dick March. Kindergarten room won the, March award for attendance. They also thanked the parents and teachers for the new drapes. A short business meeting fol lowed with Mrs. Al Hansen, new ly elected president, in charge. Mrs. Forest Carper was elected as a representatve to the Coun cil; Chairmen were named to various committees. Lunch of chicken salad, hot rolls, relishes, lime chiffon and coffee were served from a decorated table appointed with Spring flowers. Josephine Brennen of Omaha was endorsed as a candidate by the local salon for national con cierge to be held at the conven tion in California. Mrs. Violet Attebery gave a report concerning the tuberculo sis meeting, held recently in Murray. Discussion followed the report. Mrs. Vera Warga, child wel fare chairman, announced that- acknowledgement received o i gifts sent at Easter time to the Tuberculosis Hopital at Kearney and Denver. Other reports were heard from chairman of proj ects. Meeting adjourned with the re tiring of the colors and a social hour conducted with Mrs. Vera Warga in charge of games. Prizes were won by Mrs. Elsie McClintock, Mrs. Ann Zastera, Mrs. Mary Gobelman, Mrs. Elva Inman, Mrs. Vera Warga and Mrs. Annette Fitzpatrick. Hostesses Mrs. Cora Baum gart and Mrs. Helen John serv ed cream puffs, ice cream cake and coffee to members seated at an attractively arranged table centered with a decorated cake in observance of the birthday of Mrs. John-of Weeping Water. Carol Davis New President, Elected At District Rally During the business meeting of the west sub district of Oma ha held at the Methodist Church in Plattsmouth recently Carol Davis was elected president. Fifty were present for the Rally with registration begin ning at three, followed by wor ship service by the Papillion Youth Fellowship. The Weeping Water group had charge of the program. A dis cussion followed. The evening meal was served by" the Gleaners Circle of the local church. ' - Others elected to office during the business meeting that follow ed the evening meal were Vic e-i President - Dave Thimagan o f Ashland; Secretary - Treasurer Sarah Jensen of Weeping Water and Reik Fred Gardiner of Weeping Water was. elected Sponsor. During the evening Rally a short hymn sing was enjoyed and a message by Rev. Gard iner. Mrs. Farnum'Taylor To Head Schbol P-T.A. Election of officers was the highlight of the regular meeting of the Wintersteen Hill Parent Teacher Association held Tues day at the school. Mrs. Farnum Taylor is the new president. Other officers elected were Warren Mammoran, vice presi dent; Eugene Exline,' secretary and Melvin Dittemore, treasur er. President Mrs. Helene Mc Graw installed the new officers. The meeting was turned over to the program chairman, Mrs. Nita Capwell, who presented pi ano selections by Tommy Ditte more and David Gochenour. Hall, Fri day May 4 at 3 p.m. Relatives Attend Funeral At Oxford Mr. and Mrs. James B. Cook returned Thursday from Oxford where they attended funeral services for Clifford Dusenber- ry Wednesday. The - deceased died of a heart attack. Inter ment was at. Beaver Crossing. Mr. Cook was a brother-in-law of the deceased. Other, rela tives from this area attending the services were Roy Cole, Mrs. Robert Patterson of Platts mouth, Raymond Cook and Mrs. Nita Kroll of Omaha and A. W. Leonard of Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Cook visited at the home of her brother R. p. Marshall and her mother Mrs. Mary Marshall. Grandson Winner in Oratory Contest Steve Swatek; 15, of 2007 North 56th St., Omaha won the Opti mist boys oratoi-ical contest, Wednesday, . The son of Mr. and Mrs. George Swatek, the Benson High School sophomore will compete in the district contest Thursday and Saturday in Lincoln. The twins were born May " 1 thirty years ago and were the first pair of twins that Dr. Westover deliverd. They are the children of Mrs. Elsie McClintock.
