Klemme Rites Held Saturday At Murdock MURDOCK Funeral for August Conrad Klemme, 84, of Weeping Water were at the Evangelical United Brethern church here Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Richard A. Helm of ficiated. Burial was in Callhan cemetery near Murdock. Mr. Klemme died at his Weep ing Water home Feb. S after a short illness. A quartet composed of Mark Rikli, Verle Stock, Reuben Stock and Donald Rikli gave three numbers, accompanied by Mrs. Donald Rikli. Mrs. Eldon Pan- ska was organist. Bearers were August Rleke, Emil Rieke, Henry Knaup, Reu ben Knaup, John Beck and Lieut. Kyle Klemme. Hobson Funeral Home o I Weeping Water was in charge. Among those from out of town attending the funeral were Mrs. Charles Seba and Mrs. Ervin Rodenberg, Drummond, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Sheldon of Big Springs, Neb. Mr. Klemme was born June 5, 1871, at Hensdorff, Germany. At the age of 15 he came to the United States, in 1886, and set tled at Murdock. He became a member of the Callahan E.U.B. church about 1S88 and held var ious offices in the church. He was married March 9, 1899, to Minnie Rodenberg. She survives him. Besides his widow, he is sur vived by seven children: Lena Remaly of Elmwood; Leonard Klemme of Wabash; Walter and Edgar Klemme of Big Springs; William Klemme of Nehawka; Dorothy Sowards of Ashland; Emily Beck of Engelwood, Colo. Heart Fund Gift By Mail Is Asked NEHAWKA '(Special) The Nehawka Heart Fund Chairman Esther Barkhurst today invited rural residents with a Nehawka postal address to mail their con tributions. They should be mail ed to the local Heart Fund, care of the chairman. Miss Barkhurst also pointed out that there is an opportunity for town and rural residents alike to give memorial gifts in memory of a loved one who died of heart disease. The Nebraska Heart Associa tion will promptly acknowledge the gift, sending an appropriate card to the family and a re ceipt to the donor, the chairman said. Money from memorial gifts and the Heart Fund support the work of the Nebraska and Amer ican Heart Associations. The local Heart appeal, spon sored by the Nehawka Woman's Club, will run through February and has a goal of $50. Serepta Crabtree Buried at Douglas WEEPING WATER (Special) A former Plattsmouth and Weeping Water woman was bur ied at Douglas Feb. 5. She was Serepta Ann Crab tree, 87, who moved to Platts mouth from her birthplace in Ohio at the age of nine and later moved to Weeping Water where her parents built a one story house, now occupied by Mrs. Ben Olive. Serepta taught school 15 years in Nebraska and 28 years in Denver. John Hammons, a student pas tor at Cotner from the Univer sity of Nebraska, officiated at the funeral.
