I. Friest, Plattsmouth, will sing with the University of Nebraska Madrigal Singers on two ccast-to-coast broadcasts during the Christ mas season. The two Christmas programs will be broadcast nationally by the Columbia' Broadcasting Sys tem. The first broadcast will be Dec. 22nd from 9:00 p. m. to 9:15 p. m. CST and the second program, "Ceremony of Carols," on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, at 11:05 a. m. CST.. The programs will be record ed at the University of Nebras ka. Dr. David Foltz, chairman of the Department of Music, is the conductor of the Madrigal Singers. Madrigal singing is one type of chamber music that origi nated m England about the time of Shakespeare. Madrigal groups were thought of in that day as radio and television are thought of today. The singing which traditionally takes place after dinner is in harmony rather than in unison.
