Eagle folks will remember Miss Cape's mother, Lois Lean, of Elmwood, teacher in Eagle schools in 1S25 and 1927 in the elementary grades. The bride-to-be is a student nurse at Lincoln Gen eral hospital school of nursing. Eaase Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Bird and neighbor, Den Halvorsen, left Friday for a trip to California. Mr. and Mrs. Silas Cantley attended the funeral services for Robert Lageman at Cook last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Fischer and Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Schweg man left Wednesday for a visit with relatives in California dur ing the Christmas axd New Year's holiday. The Schweg man's will remain for a more extensive visit with both son and a daughter and their fam ilies. The Fischer's will visit their daughter, Wilma, the Dan Lazier famiiy for three or four weeks. Eaglt 0. S. C. Plans Party OSC club members planned a turkey dinner and Christmas party with an exchange of gifts for their families, at the Ameri can Legion hall in Palmyra on Thursday noon, Dec. 15. Eagle Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Wenzel attended funeral services at Lin coln last Thursday for Albert Kendle, father of Ester Kendle. Hp nnpmtfrl a sptoipo stntinn J i here several years ago. Mr. and Mrs. William Meyers bought a property at . Green wood recently and were there on last Thursday getting it in readiness for renting. David Schmidt, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Earle Schmidt, took ill last Friday with a throat and lung infection. The doctor was called and at this time is some improved at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Carrie Schmidt. . Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Wenzel are looking forward to this weekend of Dec. 15 whrn their daughter, Helen, will be home from college at Nevada, Mo., for a visit with her parents and brother, Richard, and grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Wenzel. Mrs. A. H. Siekman received word that her cousin, Ernest Home had died in Portland, Ore., where he and his wife moved from Lincoln a couple of years ago after retiring as a station operator at Lincoln. John Meyers was ill last week :with a kidney infection, caus ing high fever and considerable pa2n, but is much improved. Mrs. William Bohn had sur gery one day last week and is slowly improving but will be at rthe Clarkson hospital in Omaha for several days. Eaqle Masonic Widows A group of ladies, wTho have titled themselves "Masonic Wid ows," enjoyed a get-to-gether -at the H. D. Fischer home last Saturday evening while their husbands attended lodge at Elmwcod. Those present were Mrs. A. F. Schwenker, Mrs. O. E. Underwood and Mrs. Pearl Adams. Mrs. O. E. Pitzer, who usually attends, was visiting in Iowa last weekend. Eaale Mrs. Dwight Earl has an in fected thumb which has caused her considerable pain for sev eral days. The "O" Street Homemaker project club will have a Christ mas party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Westlake, Fri jday, Dec. 15. The Camp Creek club mem bers and families had a Christ mas dinner and party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. LaVelle Swarts last Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Earl and Gary visited at the home of Mrs. Earl's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dcnison, near Cheney last Sunday. Mrs. Chas. Edwards returned to her heme in Alvo Monday. Mrs. Fifer will again assist in her care. The Methodist education com mittee "met on Wednesday eve ning at the parsonage. Anna belle Althouse is chairman, Laura Lanning, treasurer; Lxiel la Fischer, secretary; Howard Root and Olive Westlake, junior and senior superintendents. Eagle Christmas Trees A Christmas tree has been placed in the town square by Howard Root and Johnny Sy brandt, members of the town beard. The large tree was do nated by Robert Walker. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Koutsky are giv ing a tree for the Methodist church Christmas services. it w Cattle Association Plans Spring Show The Old Reliable Hereford As sociation plans a big spring event, included in the program will be a 4-H and F. F. A. judg ing contest, 4-H and F. F. A. steer show and an open steer show open to the world along with the Polled and Horned Re gistered Hereford Show and Sale These events will be held Feb. 1 through Feb. 3, 1956, at Fonner Park in Grand Island. Entry fee in the steer show is $5 per ani mal. Plans call for the steer show to be held Feb. 1 follow ed in the evening by the steer sale. Entry in the Polled and Horn ed Hereford breeding classes Ls open to members of the Old Reliable Hereford Association and must meet Standard Show Classifications. Any breeder in the State desiring to enter cattle in the sale will contact R. Clare Clemont, Ord. " Entries for the show and sale are due Dec. 23 and may be sent to R.
