Land County Clerk No. 3081 Dec. 15, 1955 MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL Plattsmouth, Nebraska November 14. 1955 The City Council met in re gular session at 7:30 P.M. with the following present: Mayor Leo R. Meisinger, Councilmen Robert T. Whelan, Douglas T. Wotier, Wm. G. Highfield and James F. McMillian, and City Clerk Albert Olson. Absent none. Minutes of. last meeting read and approved.' Petition read for installation of a street light and drainage tube at 3rd Avenue and Hillcrest Drive. Motion carried that street light be installed and matter of drainage tube be re; ferred to the Street & Alleys Committee. - Motion carried that a street light be installed north of Thay er. Street at the foot bridge of the sidewalk west of Highway No. 75 leading to Valley View Addition. Request of Forrest Carper granted to cut the curb on the west side of Highway No. 73-75 for a driveway to his property subject to requirements and ap proval of the State Highway Department. - Resolution adopted authoriz ing the Mayor to execute an agreement with the Missouri Pacific Railroad Corporation permitting the City to keep and use its own water line in 18th Street. Report of the Board of Public Works for the six months period ending October 31, 1955 read and placed on file. Report submitted by the Fi nance Committee showing the total costs in the amount of $1,895.39 for application of as- phaltic oil and work incidental , there to in m Street improve ment Districts Nos. 116, 117, 118. 1 120. 121. 122. 123, 124 and 125. Resolution accepting work and ordering plats and schedules prepared showing property sub ject to assessment for the cost' of the- improvements in the above districts. Assessment Dlats and schedules were pre sented and ordered placed on file in tne ottice 01 tne city Clerk. Notice of meeting of the City Council as a Board of Equaliza tion to be held December 27, 1955 at 7:00 O'clock' P.M.' -for the purpose of equalizing and adjusting the special assess ments for benefits for street improvements in the above dis tricts read and ordered publish ed as provided by law. Motion carried that 'two signs be placed on Lincoln Avenue one at the junction of Lincoln Avenue and Highway No. 73-75 and one at the junction of Lin coln Avenue and 6th Street, de signating speed limit of 25 miles per hour and no trucks over 5 tons permitted. Reports of the Police Judge for the weeks ending October 29th, November 5th and 12th read and placed on file. Parking meter . receipts for the weeks ending October 31st. November 7th and 14th were reported as $213.00, $229 00 and $203.00 respectively. Official bond of Wayne Schneider as policeman approv ed. The City Attorney reported that the suits instituted by Frank Krejci et al against the City have been dismissed in District Court. Motion carried that l parking signs be placed on the follow ing streets: North 6th St. from Avenue A to Avenue G- parking on west side only; First Avenue from 7th St. to 13th St.- parking on south side only; south 9th St.; from Chicago Avenue to 7th Avenue- parking on east side only The City Attorney reported that the petition filed for as phaltic oil treatment of No. 15th Street from Atenue D. to Ave nue B, and Avenue B, known as the Cemetery Rwad, from 15th Street to the west edge of the City limits was insufficient for lack of required number of sig natures of abutting resident property owners.
