Greenwood Opens Basketball Season With Win Over Walton WALTON Greenwood high school was the first basketball team from Cass county to see action this year and they did it with a win over Walton 40 to 35 here. It was also the first outing of the season for the Walton team. Greenwood shook off a 9-7 first quarter lead by Walton and went ahead 18 to 13 at halftime and carried the game by nine points by the end of three quar ters, 25-34. Larry Warren led Greenwood .scoring with 17 points. Doeden l:d Walton with 14. Greenwood got the season underway with three lcttermen Larry Warren, 6-2, junior; Lyle Comstock, 5-19, senior, and Jim Casey 5-6, sophomore. Other squad men include Jim Merritt, 5-10, senior; J3ob Buck ingham, 5-6 junior; Gene Wright, 5-5, freshman; LeRoy Merritt, 5-4, 5-4, freshman; Joe Wiles, 5-8, sophomore, and Gary Maughan, 5-5, sophomore.
