Mrs. Anton Johnson Correspondent A:::v:v:W& Mrs. Charles Dsisher of Odessa, Mo., is visiting her sister, Mrs. Chris Murray, and Mr. Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Gilliam Myer spent the week end in Omaha with their daughter, Mrs. Tony Ingalise, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Beck en tertained a family group on Sunday honoring John Schoe man and Miss Wilma Schoeman on their birthdays. Those pres ent were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Salsberg and Sherman; Mr. and Mrs. August Wendt; John Schoe man and Miss Laura Schoeman; Arthur Schoeman, Mary Borne meier, Dan Schoeman and Miss Wilma Schoeman. Mrs. Dale Steinkamp enter tained three little boys honoring her son, Terry, on his eighth birthday Saturday afternoon. The afternoon was spent play ing games and opening his many gifts. A lunch of ice cream and cake were served to the group. Mrs. Audrey , Steinkamp and Jane; Mrs. Thelma Heilig and Alan spent Thursday with Mrs. sterling Amick, Jr., in Weeping Water. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Mason had a birthday dinner Sunday hon oring their grandson, Terry Steinkamp. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Steinkamp and family, and Mrs. Thelma Heilig and son, Alan. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Masters are visiting their daughter and family, Sgt. and Mrs Earl Drumm and children in Lawton, Okla. Mary Ileil spent last weekend with the Drumm fam ily. Miss Jennie Stiffler and her roommate, Miss Jackie James, of Lincoln, were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stif fler. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wildrick and family were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Deal and family in Omaha. En route home they called on Mrs. Harold, Lancaster in Platts mouth. Mrs. Lancaster sprained the ligaments in . her foot and has been unable to work. Mr. and Mrs. William Dunn of Leigh were week end guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eu gene Dunn. They were all Sun day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Morrisson of Lincoln. Mrs. Morrisson and Mrs. Dunn are sisters. Mrs. S. J. Edgerton spent sev eral days last week with her daughter and family, Mf. and Mrs. Walter Fornoffand chil dren in Silver City, Iowa. They spent one day in Omaha; shop ping. . . Fouchek-Garnel. Lawyers Bonded Abstracters Mr. and Mrs. Bob Crueber and daughter, Barbara Lynn, of Wellsville, Mo., are visiting with his sister, Mrs. Richard Frede rickson, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Johnson cf Bristow are spending this week with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Fus selman and children. Willard Mason called Wednes day evening to tell his parents that he would make the trip to Tennessee with the Peru State Teachers football team for their game Saturday. Mrs. Irus Gerdes spent Friday in Omaha and visited with Mrs. Ralph Gerdes in Plattsmouth. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Payton and family spent Friday, evening with Mr. and Mrs. Irus Gerdes and family. Louisville - Baptism Given - Jimmie Dale Gunnels, son of Mr. and Mrs, William Gunnels, was baptized Friday evening at the First Methodist church by Rev. Blough. Mrs. Evelyn Ridd ler was chosen as Godmother and James Anderson stood in proxy for Luther C. Gunnels, as Godfather. Luther is a twin brother of William Gunnels and was unable to attend the serv ices. Louisville Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hennings and family spent Sunday in Plattsmouth with Mr. and Mrs. Vernor Hild and family. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Hennings and fam ily of Lincoln were also guests. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hurlbut and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Heiers were Saturday evening visitors in Plattsmouth. Frank and Richard Koterzina of Lincoln spent the week end with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Koterzina, Sr. The Friendly Fourteen club met at the home of Mrs. Gen Schmader Thursday evening. This was a combination card party and birthday party for Mrs. Schmader. Secret pals ex changed gifts. The evening was spent playing pinochle with Mrs. Eva Blair winning high prize, Mrs. Ruth Woolheiser, second high and door prize. Mrs. Dolly Mason had low score. Mrs. Aud rey Steinkamp was a guest. A lunch was served by . Mrs. Schmader. The next meeting will be December 14 with a Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Therasa Gess. Miss Barbara Brock and Lynn Martin were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Tlustos and son. Mrs. Lenhard has been confined to her bed for about a month. South Ashland Kansas City Flight Mr. and Mrs. William Bell of Austin, Texas, were members of a group that drove from Austin to Kansas City to attend a pub lic health association meeting the week of Nov. 14. From 5, C00 to 6.000 people attended. Mrs. Bell flew from Kansas City to spend the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hoffman, and sister, Lucille. She returned by plane Sunday after noon. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Figg of Gretna were also Sunday afternoon visitors at the Hoff man home. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mansfield called at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Metheny in Lincoln Thurs day afternoon. South Ashland Fairland Giants The Fairland Giants Baby Beef club met at the home of Gene Backemeyer Wednesday evening. Election of officers for the coming year was found John Earl Jones, president; Eugene Wills, vice-president; Carylin Bond, secretary; Gwendolyn Wills, treasurer, and Larry Roe- ber, news reporter. Plans were made for a Christmas party at the next meeting Dec. 7 at the Fairland school house. Names were drawn for a Christmas ex change. After the meeting games were played. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Long and family attended a Farm Bureau oyster supper at Weeping Wa ter Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ike Chase and family ,of Waverly visited with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vir gil Simpson, on Sunday. Addi tional supper guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Rowrell and family of Waterloo. Herman Brunkow was taken to the Lincoln General hospital last Wednesday, with his left arm in very bad condition from cancer. His son, Ivan, from Tulsa, Okla., is here to be with him. Mrs'. Minnie Johnson, who is staying in Lincoln for awhile, was home over the weekend and called on Mrs. Anna Hardwick. She likes her work real well. Mr .and Mrs. Henry Vander- beak from Bennett and Mrs. Peutico from Lincoln were Sun day, Nov. 6, visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Nickel, Keith and Mrs. Fenner. Tuesday evening Mrs. Grace Copple entertained the follbw ing at a six o'clock dinner: Miss Alice Saunders and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Saunders from Lincoln; Miss Saunder's friend, Douglas Fords from Omaha. Miss Saunders is the music teacher at Alvo and gave a musical at the school house Friday night. Mr. Fords was the music teacher at Alvo two years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Copple at tended an oyster supper at Weeping Water Saturday night. Mrs. Copple kept the children. Sunday dinner and supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dinges were Mrs. Dinges sisters, Mrs. Nyder and Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Thompon and daugh ter, Kay and Roger Brown, all from Lincoln; Mrs. Dinges fath er, George Bray; Emma Hahn from Syracuse. Mr. and Mrs. Dinges drove to Syracuse to get Mr. Bray and tcok him home Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bennett took care of the Grocery store at Prairie Home from Friday morning until Sunday noon, while Mr. and Mrs- Garland were on a trip to South Dakota.
