Oct. 21, at the Eagle Methodist church. EagTp . Mr. and Mrs. Richard Weyers of Lincoln visited Mrs. Weyer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walker last Sunday. Mrs. Dudley Allen of Omaha visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Everett Morton last weekend. Mrs. Allen is the former Kaye Morton. Mr.' and Mrs. William Bohn and grandson, Jimmy Cooper, visited at the home of Mrs. Bonn's niece, and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Schroeder and family, near Palmyra, Sunday honoring them on their 17th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Glendon Bohn and family left on Monday mor ning for Houston, Texas, to visit Mrs. Bohn's parents and other relatives. Eagle- Calls on Aunt Mr. and Mrs- O. E. Underwood were Weeping Water visitors last Saturday. Mrs- Underwood called at the home of her elder ly aunt, Betty Johnson, while her husband attended some business matters during the af ternoon. Mrs. A. H. Siekman visited her sister-in-law, Mis. Julia Palin, at Lincoln, Monday. Eagie Family Nitc Held A family night at the Metho dist Church Sunday -. evening honored the instructors of the Eagle schools, with a basket supper meal, followed by an educational program and with colored slide, pictures, taken, shown and explained by Mr. and Mrs. Stone of Syracuse. The pictures were taken while they were on their trip abroad, in cluding pictures of England, France, Switzerland, Germany and Italy. N. Ers kine Jr., Saturday evening and Sunday, before returning to their home at Columbia. The Wibble's also visited at the Ers kine home on their way to Wa bash. Eagle The Fander's family have moved to the Clyde Wenzel pro perty, recently vacated by the Harry Simonds faculty, who have moved to Nebraska City. The Fanders were employed at the Art Handrock farm. Miss Betty Jo Frohlich of Fre mont, who is teaching the 4th grade in Fremont elementary schools this year, spent last weekend at her parents home, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Frohlich. Eac,le' Dinner Honors Mr. and Mrs. Keith Muenchau entertained with a dinner at their home, honoring the birth day of Grandpa William Muen chau, on last Sunday. The for mer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Muenchau, of Eagle and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest May of Walton were dinner guests and Mrs. Walter Weyers and bro-th er, John Walker, were after noon callers. The latter are a sister and brother of Mrs. Wm. Muenchau. Eagle Mr. and Mrs. George Kirchoff of Weeping Water called at the home of Mr. Kirchoff brother, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kirchhoff one day last week enroute home from Lincoln. , Mr. and Mrs. Chester Som mers and family of Pleasant Dale, visited at the home of Mrs. Sommers parents, Mr. and Mrs. Silas Cantley, last Sunday. Mrs. Sommers is the former Melba Irene Cantley. Mr. Som mers is employed with the Civil Service at the Airbase near Lin coln. Mrs. Robert Adkins entertain ed with a dinner for a few young folks, honoring the birth day of Gracie Phillips at the Adkin home last Sunday eve ning. Eagle Butts Memorial On last Sunday Mrs. E. G. Glaser of Lincoln went to Eagle and invited her mother, Mrs. Tina Butts, to her home for a dinner in memoriam of the 49th wedding anniversary of the late Dick Butts and Mrs. Butts. On last Wednesday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Melvm Butts and fam ily of Lincoln, visited at Mrs. Butts mother's home the Mrs. Tina Butts. Eat;le Mrs." Marion Wulf and infant son, dalen Lee, returned home, , from the hospital, Saturday evening. . Both are doing fine. Mrs. Wulf's mother, Mrs. Kru ger of Sterling, Nebr., is assist ing at the Wulf home. The baby was born Sept. 26 and weighed eight pounds three ounces. Mr. and Mrs. Silas Cantley went to Cook, and visited Mr. Cantley's cousin, Mr. and Mrs." Robert Lagemann, last Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Phillips visited at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Dwayne Novak, and with her husband and fam ily near Crete. The three grand sons came home with the Phil lips returning home on Monday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Wilber Valentine of Kearney, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fleish man enroute home from at tending Ak-Sar-Ben at Omaha. Mr. Valentine graduated with the Fleishman's son, Dale, from Kearney high school. Eagle Birth Announcement Mrs. Hubert Stewart receiv ed a birth announcement from Mr. and Mrs. Charley Hobbs at Strang of a baby girl, born Sept. 30, weight 9 pounds 82 ounces. Mrs. Hobbs is the former Ruth Bunting, the 2nd grade teach er of Eagle Schools, a few years ago and roomed at Mrs. Stew art's home. The baby has been given the name Joanne Kay. Eagle Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Besides the trophy and purple ribbon for showmanship at the King Korn Karnival, John picked up a purple and blue ribbon for market hogs; purple and blue ribbons for Duroc gilts; purple and blue for Hampshire gilts; purple and blue for Hampshire boars and a blue ribbon for a Hampshire litter. Champion Market Hog Parents Honored Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Wall were honored on their wedding anni versary Sunday evening, when their son, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Wall and family of Lincoln and daughters and family, the Ar thur Thomson's of Palmyra, an other daughter family, the Paul B. Johnson's of Alvo, brought filled baskets and enjoyed the evening together at the honor ed couple and parents home. Eagle George Peckham recently re turned to his home in Lincoln, from the hospital, but his criti cal condition is not improved. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Wall visit ed him lately and he had un dergone several blood transfu sions. , Mr. Harold Siekman of Hast ings visited his mother, Mrs. A. H. Eidenmil ler, and daughter, Maxine at Lincoln last Wednesday. They called at the hospital during the evening and visited Anna Nickel of Elmwood, who has been there several weeks, slowly recovering after suffering a heart illness. Eagle AcCeptS Position Mrs. Fred Wilson of Imperial, the former' Jean Marie Stewart, daughter of Mrs. Hallie Stewart, has accepted a position as Home Economics instructor in the Verango school, a 45 minute drive northwest from her ranch home near Imperial. Eagle Mr. and Mrs. Nick Peterson, and Mrs. McMeen of Lincoln and Mr. and Mis. Chas. Trum ble, were visitors at the home of Mmes Peterson, McMeen and Trumble's sister, Mrs. Nora Hursh on last Sunday. In the evening Mrs. Frieda Trunken bolz called at the Hursh home. Mrs. Lloyd Carlson and three children of Yueling .visited over the weekend with her' sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Norval Utemark and son. Eagle Toes Are Broken Mrs. Harold Manning broke a couple of his toes when one of the lifts fell on it while at his employment at the mill Mon day. He is the son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Phillips. Eagle Mr. and Mrs- Chas. Root of California who have been visit ing at the Ralph Beach home several weeks are now living in Lincln. They are Mrs. Beach's parents and former Eagle resi dents.. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Stall of Lin coln visited Mrs. Stall's sister iand husband, Mr. and Mrs. El tmer Frohlich, and Betty Jo, last 'Sunday afternoon. Also callers at the latter's home were Mr. be.rs received gifts from their secret pals. Mrs. Irene Jacobson guessed what was in the guess ing box. , Next meeting will be Oct. 26 with Miss Carey Schaffer at Weeping Water. Weeping Water Cub Scouts Get Two New Members The Weeping Water Cub Scouts, Pack 220, held their re gular monthly meeting Wed nes day evening with 75 in at tendance. Two new members were taken into pack. They are Micheal Fitzpatrick and Rodney Mather. The following cubs received awards: John Meeske received his bear badge and seven ar rows; Randell Rehmeier receiv ed his Wolf badge and six ar rows. Dens 2, 3 and 4 each pre sented in costumes skits from Robin Hood stories. Mrs. Virgil Rhodes and Mrs. Vincent Rehmeier were in charge of the refreshments. and Mrs. Vernon Wiseman of Lincoln, former Eagle residents. Miss Vesta Stall, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Stall, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Eley and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Krumm and families of Lincoln were af ternoon callers at the home of their mother and sister, Mrs. Irvin Stall and Mona, last Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Stodgell of Burlington, Iowa, visited Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ransford for a short time Thursday morning. They were returning home from visiting their daughter in South Dakota.
