Sand Phone 2604 Mrs. Oren Pollard and grand daughter, Marilyn Pollard re turned home early Thursday morning from Ogden, Utah, where they spent 12 days with Dr. and Mrs. Claytcfi Bruce. They accompanied Dr. and Mrs. Bruce to Ogden and on the way made stops at Loveland and Estes Park, Colo., the Rocky Mountain National Park and went through Rabbit Ear Pass to Steam Boat Springs. They made several trips to Salt Lake City. Marilyn enjoyed swim ming in Salt Lake. Mrs. Pol lard's brother, Mr. Roy White of New Plymouth, Idaho, his son-in-law. and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Snyder of Boise, Idaho, spent several days at the Bruce home with the Pol lards. Robert Pollard, St. Paul, Nebr., was a weekend guest of his parents. Mrs. Fred Beatty was hostess to the United Brethren Aid at her home Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. A. B. Rutled'e presied. Members decided to discontinue their meetings until September. Mrs. M. E. McDonald was a guest. The hostess served re freshments. Mrs. Paul Poppe and Mary Sue of Kansas City, Kan., are spending two weeks with Mrs. Poppes mother, Mrs. Gertrude Carper. Mrs. Poppe's daughter, Mrs- Robert Peterson of Omaha, was a weekend guest at the Car per home. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Years ley and daughters of Dunbar were dinner guests Sunday at the E. E. Fitch home. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Murdoch, Lincoln, were Sunday afternoon ! and lunch guests of her mother, ' Mrs. Addie Dodson. Holy Trinity Guild A bridal shower honored Mrs. Richard Lutz, Tuesday, when the Holy Trinity Guild met at the home of Mrs. Merle Meyer. Mrs. Lutz is a new member of the Guild. Duane of Union accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Frank Linder to Beatrice Sunday to attend a family reunion at the Fred Brockman home, brother of Mrs. Linder. Another brother, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Brock- Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hansen ! man and family of Azusa, Cali- Omaha, were weekend guests at the John Hansen home. Guests Saturday evening to honor John Hansen on his birthday includ ed Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hansen and Eddie, Falls City; Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hansen and family. Sunday John and Ivan Hansen fornia were also guests at the reunion. Barbara Mayfield was six on July 2. Her party guests that day were her school mates of Factoryville school. Judy Bal four of Union was her over night guest. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Romans assisted the Howard Hansen and family were guests for the family move from Lincoln to Falls City, where he is assistant county agent. NVhawka Scout to Fremont The Boy Scouts had a water melon stand at the Fourth of July celebration and were well pleased with the proceeds. July 24, nine scouts and their lead ers, John Barkhurst and Harold Dodson will camp at Cedars, near Fremont, for a week. Carneal,; son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Carneal of Union, and grandson of - Mr. and Mrs. Wm; S. Wetenkamp, Sr., of Plattsmouth has sent word he is now Corporal in the Medical Corps. Cpl- Carneal is stationed in 10th Field Hospital in Wurz burg, Germany. He writes of many experiences he has in the hospital work. Sunday, July 10, her husband, Pfc. Rollie M. Dudik, arrived to spend a week. They will also visit at Ravenna with his par ents. Mr. Dudik is stationed at Fort Hood Texas. They will re turn there July 16 with Mrs. Dudiks cousin, Cpl. John Ran ney of Weeping Water, who has been home for two weeks. - Union Birthday Honors At home of Mr. and Mrs. Car neal Saturday evening, July 9, Mrs. Carneal was honored on her birthday. A weiner roast and picnic supper were held. Mrs. Carneal received many useful gifts. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Baker, Peggy, Judy and Timmy; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hoback and Dickie; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Aufen kamp of Nebraska City; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hull of Platts mouth; Mrs. Rollie M. Dudik of Killeen, Texas; Sammy and Johnny Corneal and the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Carneal. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Carneal of Union had a 4th of July supper. Guests were Mrs. Carneal's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. S. Wetenkamp; Mrs. Rollie M. Dudik of Killeen, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Aufenkamp of Nebraska City. In the evening they drove over to Nehawka for the 4th of July celebration. The Carneal's two sons, Sam my and Johnny were on the pro gram.
