Martin, East coast plane manufacturer and war time operator of the Martin Bomber Plant north of Platts mouth, accompanied by Wm L Ruttig, both of Baltimore, visited Wednesday evening at the C. C. Wescott home with Mr. Wescott and Miss Ruth Patton. Mr. Martin, well known to many local residents, was re cently named to the "Hall of Fame" by the Chrysler Corpora tion and was presented with a new Imperial which he and Mr. Ruttig were driving through to the west coast. His first visit to Plattsmouth in nearly 10 years, Mr. Martin was amazed at the transforma tion in the city during that pe riod. They also visited Offutt Field p.nd the Allied Chemical and Dye plant north of the city. Meeting Is July 11 Annual meeting of the Cass County chapter of the American Red Cross will be held July 11 at Louisville, S. L. Clements, Elmwood, county Red Cross chapter chairman has announc ed. The dinner meeting of various chairman will be at the Louis ville American Legion hall. Mrs. But ler is a sister of Mr. Philpot and Mrs. Snell. Walter Yenney has returned home from a three weeks visit with relatives at Norfolk, Nebr. Mrs. Wm. Heinrich returned Friday from St. Joseph hospit al and is convalescing at home. Students will register Tuesday and begin regular courses in speech, music or art the follow ing day. The three-week session will end July 2 with a final outdoor concert on the Stadium steps. Two hundred and seventeen students will take music courses 60, speech, and 18, art. David B. Foltz, University professor of voice, is -director of the session, and Ivan Cald well, former vocal music in structor in the Holdredge Pub lic Schools, is general super visor; John Moran, former vocal music instructor in the Central City Public. Schools, is assistant supervisor, and Margaret Shel ley is administrative secretary. Students enrolled from Cass county are: Marilyn Koop, Louisville; Ann Marquardt, and Robert Marquardt, Avoca; Kay Marie Swarts, Eagle; Janice Wiles, Plattsmouth; Brenda Ofe Plattsmouth. Enrolled from Ashland were Bill Cunningham and Elaine Ziegenbein. Corporal Kenneth Tschirren with the armed forces at Fort Bennlng, Georgia, arrived Sat urday for a 20-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tschirren, other relatives and friends. Weekend guest of Pat Brown, at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Brown was Bart Brown, of Atwood, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ballineer and children of Platte Center, Nebr. were weekend guests of relatives here. Weekend guests at the Glen bawin home were Mr. and Mrs E. A. Hoffman of Tucson, Arizo na. Sgt. Vernon Bocock, of an Air f orce base in Texas visited here with friends last week, and also with Mr. and Mrs. Don Bocock at Lincoln, Nebr. Mr. and Mrs. George Kerns of Omaha, and Joyce. Kerns, were in St. Joseph, Mo., last week where they attended ceremonies of the launching of a boat. Wilbur "Doc" Eaton of Hast ings Nebraska, was a weekend guest at the Fred Bourck and Lindy Wolever homes and vis-. ited with other friends. "Doc" has been teaching school in Colorado the past year. Mrs. Chester Ruth and Mrs. Robert Lynn and children were in Corning, Iowa, Tuesday and visited with Frank Hunter, who is . ill in a hospital with pneu monia. Mr. Hunter is the father of Mrs. Ruth. Auxiliary Elects Officers Election of officers marked the meeting of the Eagle Amer ican Legion Auxiliary meeting, neio Monday evening at the Le gion Hall in Eagle, Neb. Meeting called to order with twelve members present. The group voted to change their meeting night to the first Tuesday of each month.
