Already there were people in the area there was a rather considerable civilian settlement at Kearney City, bet ter known as Doby Town, just west of the fort and Nebras kans lost little time in making up the fine, flat valley- land of the former military reservation. One of the leading early sett lers of Kearney County was Moses H.
