Ganz entertained the Woman's Reading club Thursday at a one o'clock covr ered dish luncheon. Twenty members were present and one visitor, Mrs. Dale Halvorsen and baby. Program was on "I've Got a Secret," in charge of Mrs. Don Elliott. Co-hostesses were Mrs. Haley and Mrs. Davis. Mrs. Alpha Bennett was host ess to the mother and daugh ter council club Friday after noon, with 22 members present. Co-hostesses were Mrs. Lemming and Mrs. Bell. Mattie Skinner had the lesson on March. Mrs. Max Reed of Lincoln was a guest. A lunch was served. The regular meeting of the Royal Neighbor lodge was held at the home of Mrs. Bernice Lejnming Wednesday afternoon, with eight members present. Mrs. Leming served a delicious lunch. One guest was Mrs. McCoy from Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Steinkamp from Weeping Water were Saturday afternoon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Brunkow. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Brunkow of Murdock were Friday night guests. Z Mr. Sam Hardnock suffered another heart attack this Mon day and was taken to the hos pital. Mrs. Irene Weichel came home Friday night from the hospital where she was for several days after being in a car accident. She is feeling pretty good. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Johnson and daughter, Darlene, and Mrs. Ella Kitzel were callers on Mr. and Mrs. V. C. Hinebaugh last Sunday at Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Rosco Bird and Mrs. Ella Kitzel called on Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Friend Tuesday evening at Ashland. . Mr. and Mrs. Rosco Bird, Mrs. A. J. Friend and Mrs. Ella Kitzel drove to Mankato, Kans., Sat urday to help their sister, Mrs. Elder, celebrate her birthday. She was surprisea. There was a large crowd there. The Alvo people returned home Sunday. Visitors at the Charles Ayers home the past week were t,wo of their daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Jensen and two children from Denver; Mrs. B. T. Elliott and two children; and Mr. Ay ers' brother, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ayers from Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Hard nock. and children from Lincoln and Mrs. Hardnock's sister were Friday night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hardnock. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dinges visited Mrs. Dinges' father, Mr. Geo. Bray at Syracuse Sunday. Mrs. Mabelle Winn and Ralph visited Mr. Bert Cheever Satur day night at the home of Bert'3 parents,- Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Cheever. Mrs. Cheever just came home from the hospital Satur day noon. The baby is in an in cubator and they don't know how long it will have to be there. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Ructer at tended a birthday dinner at the home of their son, Walter, at Lincoln Surlday in honor of their grandson, David, who was six years eld. His other grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ballance and Aunt Sally of Eagle were also there to help him celebrate his birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Skinner and children of Conway, Iowa, were Saturday afternoon guests of Clyde's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Skinner and supper guests of his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Jipp, Stephen and Jackie. Mrs. Alfa Quellhorst left last week to attend the 50th wed ding anniversary of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. George Bobbitt, at El Monte, Calif., which was the 20th of March. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stewart were Thursday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry, Wessel and son and Mr. Emmett Wessel at Pal myra. Fifth and sixth grade teachers remain to be hired. Clarence Souchek, superinten dent at Talmage for the past two years, and formerly superin tendent at Bradshaw for nine years, has been hired as Elm wood superintendent for 1955 56. Mrs. Ruth God bey, Mrs. Wil- liam Mickelson and Miss JoAnn Hagemeister were all-rehired and complete the high school staff. ' - Mrs. Sara Whittemore, Mrs. Doris Parriott, and Mrs. Virgin ia Piening were re-hired as ele mentary teachers. Mrs. Bessie Souchek will teach the third and fourth grade. - Mr. and Mrs. Souchek have one son, a freshman at the Un iversity, and will move to Elm wood this summer when hous ing is available.
