Mr. Fay Jose has been up to Rochester with his brother, For est. He returned home last Sat urday. His brother, Forest, was operated on Friday and will re main there for a week or so. A' card party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mei singer last Saturday night. The high prizes went to Mrs. Leon ard Lutz and Lester Gansemer. The lows went to Mrs. Miller Christensen and George Elwon ger. Mr. Otto Lushinsky was visit ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gomer Worthan last week. Mr. and Mrs. Worthan and fam ily drove to Omaha last Sun day afternoon and took him to the home of his son, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lushinsky to stay for a week, then he will return to the Vorthan home to make his home with them. Murray Surprise Party Last Friday was Mrs. Henry Hobscheidt's birthday. She was surprised with a party in the evening. Those attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Martin and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fitzpatrick and family and Mr. and Mrs. Jess Jorgensen and family. Murray Mr. and Mrs. Billy Worthan and family were supper guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gomer Worthan and family last Thursday night. Mrs. Gomer Worthan gave a personal shower honoring Miss Peggy Frans on Tuesday eve ning, Feb. 22nd. Mr. Ernst Ahrns has come to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wal ter Englekemier to make his home for the next month. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jenkins drove to Weeping Water last Sunday afternoon to help Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Larson cele brate their golden wedding an niversary. The reception was in the auditorium. The Jenkins' and Larsons' have been friends for many years. Mrs. Jenkins made the wedding dress for Mrs. Larson's wedding 50 years ago. Their afternoon guests were Harry Wiles and daughter Fre da. Evening callers were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tilson and family and W. L. Seybolt. The evening was spent playing dom inoes. Sandwiches, coffee and cake was served by Mrs. Robert Tilson. Murray Mr. Earl Lancaster has been feeling badly for several days with the flu, but is some better at the present time. Mrs. Margaret Brendel and W. L. Seybolt were Sunday guests at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Brendel of Plattsmouth. Dr. Tyson happened on the scene in time to put her arm back in socket. In the after noon her daughters, Ina and Rene came down from Omaha. When they were unable to per suade her to return home with them, they made arrangements with Mrs. Neva Read to help out in the home until she is once more able to resume her usual activities. Murray Puppy for Birthday Mr. and Mrs. Gomer Worth an, Betty Jo and Dianne and Mr. Otto Lushinsky were Friday evening supper guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rice and family. The supper was given honoring Betty Jo's birthday. The birthday was made happier by a little puppy given her by her parents. Murriy -1 Mr. and Mrs. James Kitchen of Lincoln were week end guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs Walter Engelkemier. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Berner and fam ilv of Louisville were Sunday dinner guests, in the afternoon and eveniner Mrs. Bud Chriswiser of Plattsmouth; Mrs. Garold Whitcock, son and daughter of Lincoln, were all there to visit together. Murray .. Shower Is Given A miscellaneous shower was held in the fellowship room of the Christian church last Fri day nieht honoring Pege-y Frans and Clifford Rogers. All mem bers of the church and Sunday school were invited. The eve ning was" spent with a panto mine and games. At the proper time the gifts were unwrapped and lunch was served by the hostesses. mm Mrs. Lewis Baker Phone 182 On their return from Portland, Oregon to Stockton, California Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Baker and children and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Urwin and Kenneth stopped in Sacramento, California for a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Blair, Penny and Cyn thia, former residents of Weep ing Water. Mrs. Ben Olive, Mrs. Henry Knaup, Mrs. E. A. Norman, Mrs. Arthur Jones, Mrs. J. M. Ranny and Margaret Ranney drove to Nebraska City Wednesday where they visited with Mrs. Adam Cook at St. Mary's hospital. They also visited with Miss Imo Heeb ner at her apartment there where she had gone that same day after leaving the hospital. Miss Heebner fell last Sunday in front of her home and was taken to St. Mary's. Her sister, Mrs, I. L. Markland has been staying in Nebraska City with her this past week. Sunday afternoon and even ing guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Baker and family were Mrs. Ves ta Baker, Mr. and Mrs. Don Ur win of Louisville, and Mrs. Mary Linder, Jerry and Susan of Om aha. We celebrated the birth days of Mr. and Mrs. Urwin whose birthdays are this week- Harold and Dave Myers spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Hobson. MSgt. and Mrs. Vern Amick and son, Gary, of Lincoln were in Plattsmouth last Wednesday. On their way home they stopped to see their grandmother, Mrs. Nettie Amick at Mrs. Ed Ruby's home. Last Sunday, Norman Urwin and Lula Jeanine Cooper drove to Stella, Neb., where they vis ited w7ith Norman's mother, Mrs. Sylvia Kohnke. Mr. and Mrs. Klaus Jorgensen of Detroit, Mich, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Christensen of Laur el, Neb., are visiting a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Rassmus Lauritzen, Sr. this week. Thursday evening Mr. Rich Hobson attended the Odd Fel lows meeting in Avoca, while Mrs. Hobson visited with Mrs. Henry Smith, Jr. Mrs. Mabel Mickle of Lincoln spent a few days last week with Mrs. Ed Ruby. Other callers dur ing that week were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Laurence and Wayne Mickle of Lincoln; Mrs. Bernard Elrod of Crete; and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Cooper. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Ruby left last Saturday morning by plane from Omaha for New York City, where they will take a ship to Bermuda, they will spend ten days there. Floyd won this trip thru the company. Friday night, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Lorensen and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Van Horn and their families wrere pinochle guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Patton. Mrs. Loren sen and Ed Van Horn won the prizes. The hostess served yum yums potato chips and home made ice cream. Happy Housekeepers The Happy Housekeepers 4 H club met Saturday, March 5 at their leader's home. Golda Wannemaker, president was in charge of the business meeting. Following the roil call and the reading of the minutes, the group discussed the dance they will do at the Share the Fun Pestival. . Geraldine Michelsen and Golda Wannemaker were chosen to serve at the next meeting. The lesson "Sleeping Comfort ably," was read and discussed by the members. A well made bed is more comfortable than one carelessly made. The meet ing closed by the saying of the 4-H pledge and the pledge to the American Flag. Following the meeting a sur prise birthday party was held for Maria Gardner who cele brated her 12th birthday on Sun day, March 6. A card table cov ered with a green and white cloth, was centered with a love ly cake baked by Bonita Noble and Cathy Callahan. Balloons showered above the table from a light. , Maria opened the many lovely gifts received from her friends. Games were played and Bonita, Cathy, and Kay Clark served ice cream and cake. Our next meeting will be April 2 and the lesson will be on "Div ided Drawers." Wesping Water Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Albert and family attended a family dinner at the Ray Parcell home honor ing Mr. Parcell's birthday Sun day, ther guests were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Striker of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Group; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Salberg called at the Harold Ahl home Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Razoss wrere Tesday evening callers. Ray Albert was a flu victim Monday and couldn't attend school. Mr. and Mrs. Graham were Sunday evening visitors at the Dayton Hennings home. Mrs. Uhley and Mrs. Fred Huff visited at Mrs. Kate Reichart's in Weeping Water Saturday af ternoon. Dr. and Mrs. Donald Jackson and family of Omaha were sup per guests at the Floyd Gaur heme Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Johnson visited the Harry Bricker home made ice cream. Last Wednesday evening Mr. and Mrs. Frank Freeman and Jimmy of Kansas City, Kans, s were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. 'Charles Freeman. After supper they went to the Ray Freeman home where Mr. and Mrs. Earl Freeman and Derald of Avoca; Mrs. Ed Freeman and Mrs. Ed Van Horn and family, joined them.
