Stenberg was expected to arrive home Wed nesday after serving in the arm ed service the past two years, with 18 months of that time in Germany. He telephoned his parents Mr. and Mrs. Martin Stenberg when he arrived in the States. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Hauschild and family and Mrs. Margaret Kclb were Sunday afternoon and luncheon guests of Mrs. Kolb's and Mrs. Hauschilds aunts, Mrs. Elizabeth Clifton, Mrs. Gus Un der and Mrs. Lindee in Omaha. Mrs. Carl Parks entered St. Elizabeth hospital in Lincoln Saturday for observation. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nel son visited with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Liggit, Sr., in Omaha Thursday evening. We are glad to report Mrs. Roy Keller is improving nicely from her recent accident. Mr. and Mrs. John Laughiin sent word heme that they arrived at their sons Sedrick Laughiin in Jessup, Maryland and enjoyed the plane ride. Sedrick will have a 15 day leave to visit with his parents. Mr. and Mrs Charles Roelofsz of Alva, Nebraska announce the marriage of their daughter Ver nie to Mr. Jim McBee of San Diego. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James McBee of Dervar, Oklahoma. The couple was un ited in marriage at the Metho dist church of El Cajon, Calif., Jan. 8th at 8 p.m. A reception was held at the home of the bride's brother. Mr. and Mrs. James Rcslofsz. Mrs. McBee was employed at Bankers Life In suranse Co. before she. left Lin coln. She is now on the office staff of a large furniture store in El Cajon. Mr. McBee is in the Navy stationed at San Diego. The couple will make their home in El Cajcn until his discharge in May. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stewart were Sunday afternoon and sup per guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ollie, Campbell. In the evening they attended the dedication of the new organ at the Community church at Bennett. Mrs. Lee Stewart spent Sat, afternoon with Mrs. Hattis Stewart in Ei3 le. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Miller en tertained Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hardwick at dinner Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Nickel of Lincoln were Saturday evening supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nickel, Ralph's parents. Mr. Dick Clark is working at the school house while Mr. Mackenhaunt is ill and in the hospital his condition is just about the same. Mr. Dale Halvorson from Ft. They visited Mrs. Marolf's brother and family in Denver and attended the opening eve ning performance of the Western Stock Show Friday, Jan. 14. On their return they visited Mrs. Marolf's cousins, Mr. Robert r.rtrnth and family ,north of Sidney. Trade trends were steady to lower. Fat cat tle sold steady to weak: cows sold steady to strong,- $8-$12,1 rew under $3.50. Bologna bulls sold to $14.50; veal calves to $21. Stocker and feeder trade was mostly steady, some late sales weak. Butcher hogs were 25-50c low er, sows steady to 25c off; fat lambs sold weak to 50c lower; slaughter ewes held at $5-$8. Among recent' sales at Omaha fcr shippers from this area: Vin cent Rehmeier, 34 hogs, wt. 201, $17.50. Among commissioned vessels in the U.S. Navy, destroyer-type ships out number all others.
