His mother, Mrs. Emi ly Gonzales was a dinner. guest of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Gonzales and they loOked on there. At the home of his aunt, Mrs. Ruth Monning. It was enjoyed by her dinner guests Mr. and Mrs. Lew is Hollenbeck, Mrs. Gerbelin and Mrs. Plybon. Panel theme was "Face the Nation."' i ' .Elm wood Mrs. Eunice Kuchn Stock of Murdock was the soloist at the Methodist Church on Sunday. The flowers on the chancel were a gift from Mrs. Hazel Deering of Phoenix, Arizona in memory of her husband Dr. Deering who passed away at this date a year ago. It was a bouquet of assort ed flowers. Rev. N. F. Horn presented an interesting missionary program at the Christian Church on Sun day evening. A few years ago there was no church or Sunday School in a large territory of South eastern Oklahoma. The Rev. McReynolds a successful evangelist moved in, and now there is a thriving gospel com munity. The first church was in an ardor. The scenery shown was beautiful although the soil- was not productive. Rev. Horn help ed some in meetings there, and last year he with Leonard Parish drove there and attended a con vention with five hundred peo ple there. Elmwooa . On Friday evening, Jan. .21, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Borne meier entertained with a bounti iul supper in honor of the birth days of his father Edward Bor nemeier, and his cousin Norman Bornemeier. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Borne meier and family of Lincoln, Mrs. Esther Bornemeier and Nettie. The evening was spent in visiting and in television. A write up" of the Edward Bornemeier wedding of April 9, 1908, was read and enjoyed. ' Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knaup of Weeping Water visited her mo ther and sister Mrs. Bertha Fitch and Arlene Sunday evening and fro mthere went to the film pro gram at the Christian Church. Mrs. Mabelle Winn of Alvo was an Elmwood visitor on Satur day. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bornemeier were Sunday guests of Miss Lena Rieke. .The M.Y.F. of the Methodist Church held a cabinet meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Cook on Sunday evening. Plans were made for the last six months of the church year. - Misses Judy and Sharon Cook were home from the Wesleyan for the week end. With them was a friend Miss Iodono Voden- bal. They with other yftung peo ple nad a sleigii ride on Satur day night and on their return Mrs. Cook served thm a chili supper. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Veeder from Humphrey, Mo. were week end guests at the Alva Reid home. Mrs. Veeder is the former Rena Newkirk and a cousin of Mrs. Reid. She L now employed at Lincoln. Mrs. Thomas Tennanr Phone 4251 Louisville Elaine Tlustos spent the week end at the Harold Hlavac home while her Darents. Mr. and Mrs Roy Tlustos moved their effects from Denver to Plattsmouth where Mr. Tlustos boueht a bar ber shop. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Albert and family were dinner guests at the Roy Parcell home in Elm wood celebrating Ervin's birth day. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Striker of Omaha. Mr: and Mrs. Al'cert spent the evening at the J. A. Albert home. Connie Halterman, Bill Ten nant, Carl Lang and Dick, all of Omaha, called at the Lestor Tennant home Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Schroeder and Lois called at the A. C. Hen nings home Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Stoehr and Dorothy visited at the Geo. and Elmer Stoehr home Sunday. A Good Fellowship supper was held at the Christian church Sunday evening. A lovely sup per was served, followed by sing ing and colored pictures of "A Church Is Born" and some slides of the new church dedicated a few weeks ago. . Mrs. Richard Livingston, Joan and Susan called at the Dayton Hennings home Sunday, paying their respects to the new baby. Evening visitors at the Hennings home Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Eclar and son.. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Parks and Linda of Omaha called at the Lestor Tennant home Friday. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Wilson and family of Omaha, Mr. and Airs. Orville Cordes and family vis ited the Fred Cordes home Sun day. John Cordes, also of Oma . ha, visited his parents Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Weisneth called at the Maurice Group home Friday, evening.
