Nehawka Capacity Audience - The auditorium was filled to capacity with relatives and friends of the grade school pu pils, who presented their Christ mas program Wednesday even ing. The kindergarten, first and second grades with the assist ance of the fifth and sixh grades gave the Christmas story with the primary room singing the Christmas carols under the direction of Miss Marilyn Mever and Miss Vivienne Ward. The third and fourth grades, Mrs. Arthur Mehrens, teacher, pre sented an original Christmas play. Mr. Schiessler's seventh and eighth grades presented several plays. Santa Claus made his appearance and gave each child a treat donated by the Ne hawka Community club. The pu pils of district 15 northeast of Nehawka presented several song and dance numbers under the direction of their teacher, Mrs. Arley Schomaker. Thursday the high school and each' grade room had a Christmas party. School was dismissed Thursday after noon and will resume January 3. Mrs. George Sheldon is in Clarkson hospital in Omaha. She fell Thursday, when she missed a step and received bruises and cuts and suffered from shock. Her condition Sunday was im proved. Robert Sand, Manhatten, Kans.; Peg?y Sand, Lincoln; and Dorothy Sand, North Platte spent the holidays with their parents. Christmas day, they, with Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Sand, Marcia and Gregg Andersen were dinner guests at the Ar thur Zech home at Douglas. Marlene Meyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Meyer, was four December 23. Dick Steffens fell at his home Sunday and was taken to St. Mary's hospital at Nebraska City, the extent of his injuries was unknown Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Power spent the holiday week end at Council Grove, Kan., with their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Power and sons. Claude O'Connor's children were all heme for the first time in four years on Christmas day. Poulos, Sr. 1955 License Plates Vill Be Available January 3rd In registering motor vehicles for 1955 the following procedure is necessary: 1955 motor vehicle tax on vehicle being registered must be paid. All copies of the tax notice are required when making payment of the tax, and if a notice is not received, one should be obtained from the County Assessor. 1954 registration certificate must be presented in applying for re newal of license. 1955 registration fee is the same as that for 1954. $8.00 for passen ger cars weighing 3000 lbs. or more, and $6.00 if the car weighs less than 3000 lbs.
