Mrs. Dale Philpot Hostess To Colonists Club Martin Ruth Chapter, daugh ter cf the American Colonists, met Sunday for a 1:30 dinner at thevhome of Mrs. Dale Philpot. Eleven members were present and two guests, Mrs. Albert Snell and, Mrs. Pearl Reilly. Plans were made for the next year and nevx of ficers appointed. Mr? James D. Borland and Mrs. Es telle; Thorpe Smith told of their travels the past summer. Pack Meeting Well Attended Slides Shewn At P. X A. Meeting First. Ward Parent Teachers Association luld . a meeting Tuesday evening, with Ray Evers 'presiding and sixteen members present. Picture slides of life in China - and- India were shown by Dr. W. V. Ryan. Refresnments served by the luncheon committee. The Cub Scout Pack meeting was held in the Central build ing, Friday night, with Al Han sen, presiding. There was a 1 large attendance of the boys and parents. After the meeting, the boys participated in games, competi tion carried out by Dens. Mrs. Fred Davenport, den mother, ac cepted the prize for Den No: 6. It was a lovely wood burning - set. Everyone enjoyed refresh ments before departing. She is the first student to receive such a scholarship from the Plattsmouth unit. held with Legion members at Mrs. Fred Hopp Honored At Birthday Party A surprise birthday party was held Thursday night, October 28 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schroeder at Mynard in honor of Mrs. Fred Hopp of Louisville. Those attending were Fred Hopp, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hopp. all of Louisville; Mr. and Mrs. William Schroeder and Ed die of Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Al bert Taylor and Monte, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Henry, Miss Jo Anne Henry, Joe "Red" Smith son, Rolland and Doris Schroe der. Those unable to attend were Irvin Schroeder, and Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Schroeder. The evening was concluded with the opening of presents, games were played and refresh ments were served. Charlotte Marler, president, conducted the business meeting with a good attendance present.. At a very impressive formal ceremony, Barbara Lanum, Eve lyn Kelsey and Ha Jane Goche nour were initiated into the club. ' Plans were completed for a hobo party to be held at the hall on Wednesday.
