The ball slipped from her grip in the alleys of Lewis Aeronautical College in Lockport, 111., where several nuns took their turns on the alleys. Mrs, Ivan Armstrong Mr. and Mrs. Robert Weston and Roger of Des Moines, la., were Saturday overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Weston and Eugene. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra ,' Neben were Sunday evening vis itors there. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Fosnot, Jimmy and Jennifer of Lincoln spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Richards. Mrs. Fos not and Jennifer remained for a longer visit. Miss Joan Rich ards of New York City also spent the week end with the foiKs at home. They took her to Oma ha Sunday evening to meet her piane to return to New York. Mr. and Mrs. Joe FeidhaKe and family of Sigel, 111., Mr. and Mrs. Don SeabecK and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Don Keetle were Thursday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Keetle, celebrat ing Alan's sixth birthaay. Krecklow home. bouth Ashland Family Picnic Fetes Kimballitcs Mr. and Mrs. Leo Stander and family of Kimball were Satur day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Stander and family. Sunday a family picnic was held at the Sheflef cemetery park in honor of the Leo Stander family. Those attending were the honored ones, Air. and Mrs. Peter Stan der and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Slander and Marcella, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stander and family, Jerome Stander, Mrs. Mary Stander, Bill and Lena and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Barry and family who came from Agnew. bouth Ashland The Misses Sharol and Jean ette Corneilus of Phillips spent a part of last week with Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Bailey and Martha Dean. They are staying at the Bailey and Ralph and Vernon Dean homes while their parents are harvesting in the northwest ern states. Mrs. Bailey and daughter and .their house guests accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Vern on Dean and daughters to South Bend Sunday evening where they enjoyed fishing and swim ming. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Simpson were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Hendricks in Lincoln. Mr. ana Mrs. Clarence Peter son visited at the Simpson home Sunday evening. Glenn Boiler returned to his home in Greenwood after hav ing spent the summer at the Ashley Boiler home. The Oliver Boiler family left Saturday morning for Mobile, Ala., where they will attend the wedding of their son and brother, Russell Boiler, to Miss Marion Lucille Wilber at Mobile on Tuesday, the 17th. Russell has just re cently been discharged from the navy and he and his bride are expected home soon. Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Johnson were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Hoffman and Lucille. Afternoon visitors were Mrs. Anna Bloom and Alwin. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wagner spent Friday evening at the Mar tin Stenberg home. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Rodenberg of Drummond, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. August Klemme were Tuesday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Orie Sowards and Mar vin. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Wiles and Terry, Mrs. Gene Grimm, Melody and Marlece, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Linfield, Mr." and Mrs. Frank Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Whitacre, Mrs. Rose Wag ner and Claude Wilson were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eli Gaudreault at their cabin. Mr. and Mrs. James Carson and family spent Thursday eve ning at the Archie Finney home near Waverly. They, spent Fri day evening at the Louie Timm home. ' Mr. and Mrs. Sam Long and family called on Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Jones Sunday afternoon. The Long family and Mr. and Mrs. Jones later went to Louis ville for swimming and fishing. South Ashland Over 100 Attend Family Reunion Mrs. Lloyd DeFreece, Linden, Lotys and Lyanne of Cairo spent a part of last week with Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Armstrong, returning home Friday evening. Mr. Arm strong accompanied them home and went on to Ogallala Satur day where he attended an Arm strong family reunion Sunday. Over 100 relatives had a picnic dinner together. Mr. Armstrong returned home Monday. Linden DeFreece remained at the Arm strong h-me fora longer visit. South Ashiana Mr. and Mrs. George Bornman , accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Rob-' ert Corneilus of Phillips to North Dakota, Wednesday, where Mr. Corneilus will operate a com mercial combine in the wheat fields. Mr. Bornman will assist him with the work. They expect to be gone about six weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Helms and family were house guests last week at the James Carson home. They left Monday for their home in Linn, Kansas. South Ashland Man Is Honored on 84th Birthday Mr. and Mrs. George Gade and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Erickson went to Leshara Sunday, August 8, where they attended a picnic at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Har old Fiest, honoring Mrs. Fiest's father, Chas. Ueberrhein of Wa hoo, on his 84th birthday. Oth ers having birthdays were Mrs. Marion Ueberrhein, Clarence Mays and Mrs. Carl Erickson. There were thirty people pres ent, most of them of the Ueberr hein families. Later in the aft ernon the honored one treated everyone with ice cream to be served with the many birthday cakes he received. Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Wells and family and Mrs. Pearl Wells, all of Omaha, joined the group in the evening. South Ashland Mr. and Mrs. irvln Hauschild and family and Mr. and Mrs, naruia uueii and Raymond, went to Omaha Thursday eve nme, where they visited Mrs. Clara Hauschild and Mr. George ierts at the university hospital. ir1TveI,Felkner took his father, H.
