DISASTER RELIEF The Federal Government has provided $66,633,033 for flood, drought and other disaster relief to the states since Congress au thorized the disaster relief pro gram in 1951. A little more than half of this amount $35,694,704 was allocated to the Housing and Home Finance Agency for disaster relief prior to 1953, and $30,988,329 to the Civil Defense administration for distribution, under the present system of cop ing with disasters.
