Lloyd Schmeider of Cedar Creek, returned to the hospital again Saturday for further treatment. He is feeling better now. He was re ported as getting along very well r f", lT?f ronnrrc nt. Harry Whitebread was in Omaha Friday and visited Mrs. Whitebread, who has been in the M. E. Hospital since in April. He reports she is improving stead ily since she got over pneumonia which she had following her heart attack. She is expected home sometime next week. Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Huffman were in Weeping Water on busi ness Saturday noon. , Louisville" Ex-Louisvilic Resident- Dies Mrs. Clara Novak, 67, died at the Lutheran hospital in Oma ha Saturday night. Funeral services were held Wednesday a.m. at the Brewer Korisko fu neral home in Omaha. Mrs. No vak lived in Louisville for sev eral years. Her husband died while they lived here. She leaves her son, Joe of Omaha ;2 sisters, 2 brothers and 2 grandchildren, Jerry and Donald Novak. Louisville - L. J. Mayfield andScott Mc Grew were in Omaha Friday; where they visited Mrs. Mayfield at the Cox hospital. Fred -Masters, who has been ill was able . to be downtown last Wednesday for the first time since being ill. Mf. and Mrs. Howard Phelps of Ralston were in Louisvine Saturday p.m. for a short time mating a, few friends. Dr. and Mrs. Geo. T. Erickscn and family of Broken Bow, Nebr., visited Mrs. Erickson's mother nad grandmother, Mrs. E. H. Worthman and Mrs. Ella htevenson Sunday. They came to Omaha for a convention on Monday and Tuesday. I V Drug Store Is Threatened by Fire About 12:20 p.m. Saturday the fire dept. was called to the back of the Louisville Pharmanv. where a waste paper fire get out of control and ignited the back of the building, it was nut out promptly with only a little dam age to the stairway and the window and door frames. - Louisville Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Braack kere at Keijnard Saturday night where they attended the high school alumni banquet and dance. Cloyd Koop returned to his work in Colorado Springs, Tues day of last week after spending the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harlod A. Koop. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Huffman and twin sons, came ovt from Lincoln Sunday noon and spent the p.m. with the D. C. Huff mans. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Salberg, Misses Karen and Melva Gess and Geo. Kobles attended the ball game in Omaha between Creighton and Omaha universi ties Friday night. The game went 16 innings and was called off at midnight with a score of 2 to 2.Clvris Salberg pitched for Omaha University. Louisville Mrs. Mary Mclntyre j Buried Wednesday Mrs. Mary .Mclntyre passed away Sunday evening. She wa 82 years old. She was brought to Louisville for the fufneral and burial from the Christian church Wednesdav p.m. She used to live in Louisville and is a sister of Mrs. Bertha Eager. Louisville Mr. and Mrs. La Rue Williams spent Saturday p.m. and evening in Lincoln, where they were the guests of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brockley and little son, Bobby. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Salberg, Mrs. Anna Heil, Mrs. Ralph Brown and Mrs. J. H. Gauer at tended the funeral of Mrs. Ver na Armbrust in Omaha Thurs day. Mrs. Armbrust was a rela tive. Mr. and" Mrs. Randall Kocp and baby son of Lincoln visited at the Harold 'A. Koop home Sunday. Mrs. E. E. Heilig and baby of Omaha were week-end guests at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Mr Livingston took over the duties here last week when Dallas Wendt was transferred to the job at Wakefield. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Mason spent the week-end at Colony, Kansas, stooping for a while in Lawrence, Kansas Saturday eve ning:. They attended church I Sunday a.m. at the church! where Mr. Mason attended as a boy. Annie H. Graham arrived home Monday nieht after hav ing spent the past six months visiting her uncle and aunt in Califcrnia. She also visited her brother, Kenneth Graham and family at Newcastle, Wyo., and with some, friends in South Da-' Kota. Union Mrs. Lizzie Taylor, nas snent the winter months in Washington with her daughter, arrived in Union last Monday morning. Mrs. Taylor says she is very happy to be home again. Mrs. Glen Carneal and two small sons, Johnny and Sam my, attended services at thej Methodist church last Sunday. The Carnea lfamily have just1 recently moved to the state i farm, which had been cared for ; by Mr. and Mrs. Manes, whoi have moved away. Union : Music Week Is Observed by Woman's Club Music week wras observed th Woman's Club of TTnion the Methodist church last Mon day evening. Mrs. L, B. Mougey, music chairman of the club, pre sented the Shrine Chanters of the Sesostris Temple at Lincoln, whose conductor was E. C. Boeh mer. This group of five men really gave the audience a won derful program of songs. It was an evening of the finest enter tainment that Union has heard for a long time. Refreshments were served la ter in the evening by the ladies of hte church. Before the Chant ers left, they rendered a medley of songs especially for the "Kit chen Committee." Union Shower Honors Miss Grunvald On last Wednesday afternoon there was an "Indoor Shower" held1 at the Methodist church, honoring Miss Phyllis Grumvald, i whose marriage will be June 5th. ! There were fifty-four guests 1 present. Prizes were won in j eames that were rjlaved bv ths ' guests as follows: Berniece Mc- i Neice won the prize in first , game, Mrs. Melvin Todd won the j nrize - in the second game and , Mrs. Loren Todd won the prize in the third game. After .Miss : Grunwald had opened the I "Shower cf Gifts," she thanked . all of the guests in her charm- j ing manner and invited, them! all to visit her later in her new home. They served very attrac tive refreshments in pink and whits with a dainty little' cor sage for each guest. Union Clifford Rogers is in an Oma ha hospital, having had surgery performed on one of his knees on last Monday. He will be in a cast fcr a number of weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Elwood De Freeee and Kenneth Egbert of Wyoming and Mr. and Mrs. George Long of Kimball, Neb raska were week-end guests cf Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harrah Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harrah, Jr. Scottsbluff were dinner guests Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Heil, Jr. Joyce Ann Barnes, who had her tonsils removed last Wed nesday, was taken to the hospi tal Sunday a.m., as bleeding had started again.
