Mrs. Peterson reports that her hus band continues to improve at Bryan Memorial hospital. South Ashland Mr. and Mrs. Clarence West lake visited at the Harold Kel logg home Tuesday evening. Mrs. Harold Strode and Caro lyn and Mrs. Elmer Hall called on Mrs. Harold Strode in Lin coln Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mansfield spent Tuesday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Bockelman and Sherry and Wednesday evening with Mrs. Willa Weldcn. ' Mr. and Mrs. Aksel Andersen of Winnatoon were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Art Box and Mil ton from Wednesday until Sat urday. The Andersens were neighbors of the Box family be fore the latter moved into this vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Haynes of Omaha spent Wednesday eve-1 ning with Mr. and Mrs. Dave arrott. Leroy Timm was a Saturday overnight guest of LaVern Klipp. Mr. and Mrs. John Laughlin went to Garden City, Mo., Thursday where they visited with cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Clary. They returned home the first of the week. South Ashland Richard Moore Has 12th Birthday Richard Moore was 12 years old Sunday and guests had been invited for the day but because of the inclement weather and bad roads they were unable to come. Mr. Zabel is here to vis it his father, Frank Zabel of Tchnson. Nebr,, who is hospital ized at St. Mary's at Nebraska City. Nehawka Award Winner In 4-H Seven Years Gerald Switzer, winner of th? Sheldon Store award, a trip to 4-H club week, has had 7 years cf 4-H club work. His projects were dairy, tractor, yard beauti fication and home improvement. Last year he won first in yard beautification in the county and also first in boy's record. He has completed 13 projects in the seven years of club work. Gerald is a junior at Nehawka high school. McDonald attended the American Legion Auxiliary county convent.'on at Weeping Water Friday evening Rosses Attend IOOF Conclave Mr. and Mrs. Martin Ross left Saturday by chartered bus from Omaha for Des Moines to at tend the four state conclave of the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs. The states included were Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas. There was presentation of the flags of all countries which have the order of the IOOF, and also all Grand officers were present ed. A . grand march of 56 drill teams included 1250 members. There were ten drill teams on the floor at a time. Mrand Mrs. Ross are members of "the Ezra Miliard team of Omaha P.M. and L.A.P.M. Mrs. George Dickman drove to Omaha Friday and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harden accompanied her to the conclave. The presi dent, Mrs. Helen Schailer of Des Moines and all elective officers of the international Rebekah as sociation of the World were hon ored.
