Members are to bring a finished buttrnhole or pocket to the next meeting to be held at the home of Mrs. Wanda Conradt on Mav 19. A delicious luncheon was served by the hostess. On Tuesday, April 27, mem bers of the club were guests of Mixit Club on a tour of Nebras ka City. They visited the Press Printing Company, school for the blind, dress and shirt fac tory and bottling company. An enjoyable day was held. Couple United at Omaha, April 26th Mrs. Mary Campbell of Platts mouth and Ed Cotner, also of Plattsmouth, were married on Monday, April 26, 1954, at Oma ha. Mr. Cotner has been a resi dent here for 40 years and Mrs. Cotner came to Plattsmouth 9 years ago. Both are employed at Plattsmouth Hotel. Two Feted Sunday At Birthday Dinner A group of relatives and friends gathered at the Orval Kammerer home Sunday in hon oring the birthday anniversaries of Edward Lee Favors and Eldon Lee Kammerer. Three cakes and ice cream were served fol lowing the dinner. The honorees received many nice gifts. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parker and children of Creston, la.; Mr. and.Mrs. Clarence Fa vors, Patricia, June and Betty Dietl, J. Couple United At Springfield Mrs. Neva Marie Alkire, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Buskirk of Louisville, was mar ried to Eldon Pingree at the Methodist parsonage in Spring field on Saturday, April 24 i Mrs. Pingree was born and reared at Louisville ar.d gradu ated from Louisville hih school. Mr. Pingree is the son of Al don Pingree of Aftcn, la. He has been employed at Louisville the last feur years. The couple will reside at Louisville. UG Dial 4114 May Fellowship Day Set May 7th; Program Outlined Four Ladies Attend Catholic Daughters Biennial Meeting Attending the 16th biennial convention of the Catholic Daughters of America at the Regis Hotel in Omaha Sunday were four representatives of the Plattsmouth unit. They were Mrs. F. I. Rea, state treasurer Mrs. Helen Woolcott, local regent; Mrs. Fred Feld housen and Mrs. Hermie Svo boda. Among the more than 200 at tending the convention repre senting 19 courts, were many state officers and delegates. A special mass and corporate communion was held Sunday morning at St. Mary Magdaline church, followed by breakfast at the Athletic Club. Activities closed Sunday eve ning with a banquet for 160. An evening banquet completed the all-day-affair. - . ... .-, Edward Porter; v Returns to States From Far East Arriving from " the Far East aboard the Destroyer USS Wed-' derburn on Saturday, May 1, was Edward S. Porter, seaman USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Forest C. Porter of Plattsmouth. Porter returned with Destroy er Squadron 15, which included four ether destroyers. The squadron has made three tours of duty in the Far East patrol ling the waters of Korea, Japan &nd Formosa. Daughter Mr, and Mrs. Darrell Greenlee of Murdock are the parents of a. daughter born Friday, April 30, at Bryan Memorial hospital at Lincoln. Mrs Greenlee was formerly Kosina Baer. Daughter Mr. and Mrs. John Lisle cf Manley are the parents of a daughter born April 29. Grand parents are Mr. and Mrs. "Witch -ma Gretna and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Lisle of Louisville. The session opened with group sing ing of "America" with Mary Marlene Nolting, accompanist. Lester Meisinger presided at the meeting at which a business session followed roll call and reading of the minutes. Featured at a program were magical tricks by Rev. G. E. Sey bold.i of Plattsmouth.
