Propo sal forms for this work will be issued to contractors who are qualified to submit proposals for bituminous surfacing. The attention of bidders is di rected to the Special Provisions covering subletting or assigning the contract. The attention of bidders is in vited to the fact that the De partment of Roads and Irriga tion has been advised by the Wage and Hour Division, U. S. Department of Labor, that con tractors engaged in highway construction work are required to meet the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (52 Stat. 1060). The minimum wage paid to all skilled labor employed on this contract shall be one dollar and five cents ($1.05) per hour, ex cept that a minimum wage of one dollar and twenty-five cent's ($1.25) per hour shall be paid to: Asphalt Plant Engineers Crane Operators Dragline Operators Paver (5-bag rated capacity or over) Operators Potter Shovel Operators The minimi. n wage paid to all intermediate labor employeu on this contract shall be ninety -five (95) cents per hour. The minimum wage paid to all unskilled labor employed on this contract shall be seventy -five (75) cents per hour. Mr. John Meyers is getting along as well as can be expected. He suffered a broken collar bone a crushed shoulder and five broken ribs in a car accident Thursday, the 11th. Many of the children are ab sent from school the last couple weeks having chicken pox. Jack Reghard left Sunday aft ernoon at 2 p.m. by plane for Camp Polk, La., and arrived in Shreveport, La., at 8 p.m. which is about a hundred miles from camp. Mr. A. L. Todd was a dinner guest Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Meisinger. THOMAS WALLING CO.
