"" " Mother-Daughter Council Meets The Mothers and Daughters Council Club met with Mrs. An na Hard nock Friday afternoon for their regular meeting with twenty-two members, Mrs. Gil mour and Mrs. Howe, in charge of the entertainment. A club food sale. Mrs. Imo Kinney and Mrs. Wm. Timblin were co-hos-, tesses. A delicious lunch was served. Alvo Mr. Charles Rosenow, who has spent several weeks visiting his son, Mr. and Mrs. Verle Rose now and son in California, came heme Sunday morning and was a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hardnock. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Hollen beck and family from Lincoln, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stewart, parents of Mrs. Hcllenbeck. Donna Jo Huffman from Ash land spent the week-end with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stewart. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Cheever from Colorado Springs, Colo, were Wednesday dinner guests of Mrs. Mabelle Winn and Ralph. They left Thursday morning for their home. Alvo Attend Shower for Couple at Lincoln Mr. Elmer Klyver and Mrs. Mabelle Winn and Ralph at tended a shower honoring Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Cheevers at Lincoln Tuesday night, who were married at Colorado Springs, re cently. They received beautiful and useful gifts. Mrs. Arthur Klyver baked them a beautiful cake decorated like a bride. Alvo Mrs. Harold Nickel attended a shower honoring Miss Janice Ev ers at the Eastern Star Hall Saturday night at Hickman. Jchnson attended the an nual meeting of the Nebraska conference of the Woman's So ciety of the Christian Service Thursday and Friday at Grand Island. Mrs. Emil Reike is sick with the mumps. Mrs. Reike is a teacher in the Murdock school. James Hart Plans to Seek Congress Seat James A. Hart,- Omaha attor ney, announced that he will file for the Democratic nomination for Congress in the Second Neb raska District.' Hart won. the Democratic nomination for this office in the 1952. primary, but . lost in the November election. However, he received 44 percent of the votes cast in the face of the Eisenhower landslide. During World War II Hart served in the United States Navy. He is a member of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce, Tribe of Yessir, the Nebraska and Omaha Bar Associations and the American Economics Association. He received his edu cation at Fordham -.'University and George town University.. He is 39 years of age. Nehawka " 1-adies Attend Stare Convention At Grand Island Mrs. Emma Nutzman, Mrs Ona Kunkel and Mrs. John Chandler attended the state W.S.C.S. con ference at Grand island Thurs day. Mrs. Sigvald Jensen and Mrs. Gecrge Smith of Weeping Water accompanied them. The meetings were held at the Trinity Methodist church and the high school auditorium. Th2 morning speaker was the state president, Mrs. A. R. Marquidt of Lincoln. The main afternoon speaker was Miss Margaret Seeck, a returned missionary from Maylaya.
