Greenwood Two Injured In Car Accident Mr. John Meyers is in St. Eli zabeth hospital in Lincoln after an accident of two cars Thurs day morning. The accident hap pened four miles west of Ash land on his way to work at the Mead Ordinance plant. He was to go to surgery Monday morn ing. The extent of his injuries are not known at the writing Mrs. Fern Buckingham also suf fered cuts of the head, which took 5 stitches and a chest in jury. The payment will go to those with permanent plan policies. About 24,000 World War 1 veterans, who have term insurance, will not share in the payment. Elmwood Raymond Krafochival M At Seoul, Korea Raymond Kratochvil, class of 1949 of Elmwood High, is now in Seoul, Korea, where he is an air force machinist. His sister. Irene Kxatoclivil, who graduated in the same class ; is a typist in tne Koaas ana it- j risation department at the State Capitol. She is having vcation this week. Elmwood - I Albert Kunz met Emil Holke ; ;on -Highway 34 on Monday morning and acocmpanied him to Plattsmouth where Mr. Holke is serving cn the jury. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hill drove to Cheney on Sunday afternoon and visited the Albert Kirchoff family. Mrs. Grover Hill was taken to the hospital on Saturday eve ning, but she is much better at this time. "Rev. J. L. Arnold of Callo way, a former pastor of the E. U. B. church, is now in the Methodist hospital at Omaha. Mrs. Robert Eilers, who is teaching English at Nebraska City high school, has received word that her husband has been promoted to Lt. J. G. He is sta tioned aboard the USS Prince- A ton and will be home for a 20 day furlough the first of April. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Eve land and Mrs. Gustin arrived home from California on Sun day afternoon. They are wrell and glad to be at home again after their fine vacation. Community Kensington will be held with Mrs. Chas. Fleisch man on March 25. Friends have received invita tions from Mr. and Mrs. Harvey O. Maddox of Kansas City to at -tend the celebration of th,eir sixtieth wedding anniversary, on March 25th. The leaders meeting for th Bluebird Extension Club was at the home of Mrs. Paul Borne meier on Tuesday with Miss Pearl Schultz of Weeping Water as instructor. They had covered dish luncheon at noon. Supt. Johnston and Coach Mickelson and sbme of the stu dents attended the basketball tournament at Lincoln at differ ent times. Car Stolen at Lincoln Recovered When "Bud Clements came out of the Coliseum after the game on Thursday his car was not in evidence. Later he and his brother, Sanford went to Omaha where it had been picked up by police. It wras foandto be in good shape. Evidently some persons wanted a ride to the metropolis. Elmwood Mr. and Mrs. Strope are now living on the Smith property in the west part of town. He is em ployed by Paul Eveland. Mrs. Irene, Robare motored from Kearney on Monday and visited three days with Mrs. Ad die Fleischman. While she was here they drove to South Bend and had a visit with the Frank Ohm family. Mrs. Laura Allen and son, Harry of Nebraska City, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Coon on Sunday. Harry is em ployed at the canning factory. His sister, Mary, now Mrs. Kline, is living on a farm near Douglas. Wallace Laughlin has as his hobby collecting guns. At his produce station he has thirty- cne guns on display.
