Clyde Ahl returned to the hos pital in Omaha this week and underwent surgery there on Tuesday. At last report he was said to be getting along as wrell as could be expected. It was served by the American Legion Auxiliary unit and was reported that 190 people were served and had all the oyster stew they wanted. Louiville Homer Duggan of lola, Kas., arrived Tuesday morning to do some work at the Ash Groe nlant. tt was a mipst. at the Word from Friend, Nebr., says the Rev. He was a coach in the high school in Louisille a few years ago. Margaret Ellen Thomas, 3-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Thomas of Lanyon. Iowa, was taken to the Lutheran hosoital at Fort Dodge, la., last week with what was diagnosed as polio. Miss Mary Lundleigen, a stu dent at Bradford Junior College at Bradford, Mass., is expected home on Friday to spend the Christmas holidays with her mnrpnts and sister. Mayor Scott McGrew received word recently from Camp Car enn rvin nf thp arrival nf Ro-t. Larry Brown, of Louisville, from oversease service and from which place he will receive his release from the army. Also an other letter says Cpl. Ralph Brown is now at Ft. Riley, Kan., and will shortly receive his re lease from active duty. Both boys served in Korea. Pvt. Richard Reveillac who is stationed at Ft. Riley, is spending a 14 day furlough with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. John Reveillac and friends in Louis ville. Jack Fleck gets to spend his Christmas at home altho he will have to be back in camp by the 28th. Tony is still in Korea. Louisville Many Homes Are Well Decorated Louisville does not have all of its homes lighted for Christ mas but a great many of them do. And some of them are really beautiful. Geo. Delano, Frank Koterzinas, P. L. Wright and several others are well worth traveling over the town to see. Also the Marion Biggs home. - Louisville ' The Oak Grove school, west of town, held its Christmas pro gram on Friday evening of this week. Mrs. Josephine Reichart, the teacher, said they had the usual plate supper following the program by the children. Ev eryone was invited and a good crowd attended. The Dutch Academy School, southwest of town, had its Christmas program on Thurs day evening. Miss Mary Ellen Davis is the teacher. The Glendale school, east of town also had its Christmas pro gram and a plate supper fol lowing the program Friday eve ning. - Mrs. Mabel Ingram is the teacher at this school. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Dale vis ited Sunday with Mrs. Dale's father, Harrison Crawford, at Missouri Valley, Iowd, and with Mr. Dale's mother, Mrs. Harvey Dale at Logan, Iowa A Boy Scout program which all parents were invited to at tend was held in the Legion building ; Dec. 9. Bob Lairson presented the Scout awards fol lowed by a discussion concern ing the parents interest in Scouting, the Scout budget and performing Scout activities with other communities. Worthan Home Is Yule Party Setting The Mixit Extension club met for their Christmas party Wed nesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Gomer Worthan near Murray. Mrs Stuart Schlichtemeier and Mrs. Arthur Johnson presented the lesson on "Glo Candles." The Riverview club of Otoe county was invited to get the lesson. Mrs. Hal Hansen, dressed as Santa, presented the gifts to those present. Guests were Mrs. Harold John son, Mrs Harry Guthals, Mrs. Raymond Jensen, Mrs. Forest Jones, all of Union, and Mrs. Richard Johnson. There was a very good attendance with their fam ilies as guests. The program consisted of recitations by Linda and Sher rill Jose, and songs by Neil and Beverly Balfour and Barbara Chandler. The devotions were a pageant, "Message of Christ mas Voices." Eagle Basket Supper Held at School The Community club members and families enjoyed a basket supper at the school house lunch room. Wednesday evening. Fol lowing the supper a social hour was en joyec? by all with a few games and community singing of the Christmas carols. . Eagle Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Westlake attended the funeral services of the latter's cousin, Florence Knobe, at Nebraska City, Nebr., last Saturday. , Mrs-. Laura West is enjoying a visit in Des Moines, Iowa, at the Samuel Gay home during the Christmas holidays. Mrs. Gay is the former Florence West.
