Myers, by virtue of its two wins, moved into a second place tie with the Painters, who last week shared the top spot with Ofe's oilmen. : Bob Weyer and Ken Daniel led the Oilmen in their three game sweep over Woster, Shoe ytore. B. Bintner .and Carol Krejci paced the losers. Jerry Fulton and Don Eaton mastered the Myers victory over the Painters with top series games, while Clayton Pierce and Lee Applegate were trying to protect their first place tie. Four teams are tied for the J number four spot in league play. They are Catalytic, Marge & El- ' triers, Tim's Bar and Ernie's Bar. . Tim's maintained pace by sweeping three games from the Legion as Carl Hula, Gene Nolt ing and Bob Gall led the assault. Don Warga and Cecil Karr led the Legion. Ernie's duplicated the effort against another Vet team, stop ping the V. F. W. three straight. P. Lache was the big gun for Ernie's while Carl Sell led the losers. Catalytic won two from Stander Implement to stay in the race. D. Wood gunned the construction crew while L. For rest led Stander. Reserves will open the night's entertainment at 7 o'clock with the varsity game to follow. The Plattsmouth win Fri day night over Westside gave the Devils a quick start in loop activity. Probably drawing starting assignments tonight will be the same five that started against Westside. Jim Graves, Stuart Niel sen, Lyle Wood and Larry Pierce also scored as Platts mouth forged an early lead and was never threatened. v Jacques and Finnefrock led the parlv Plattsmouth attack as the Devils moved out front 17-6. Jacques hit 9 of his 16 points in that first period, while Finne frock was contributing five. Jon Scheutz. Wood and Ptak carried the load in the second period as, Plattsmouth went off the floor leadidng 27-20 at half time. . Jacques and Finnefrock re turned, to the fore in the third canto before Jacoues drew his fourth foul. He sat out most of the second half as Stewart sub stituted freely, while Finnefrock and Stuart Nielsen manned the center post. After racine to a 36-25 third period margin." Plattsmouth took off in the final neriod with Denny Ptak, Nielsen and Larry Pierce leading the attack. Ptak had three field goals in the final period as he took second place in scoring honors for Plattsmouth with 11.. It was Flhnefrock's under the basket work, along with Ptak's left-handed layups that spark ed Plattsmouth's final quarter bid, while Stuart Nielsen show ed scoring ability in the closing mimnutes. Fifteen Plattsmouth cagers saw action as Stewart substitu ted freely in the final period. Forward Bob Price led the in vaders with 12 points while Cen ter Gars Rosenbaum connected for 11. They were the only con- sistant scorers lor westside. The balanced scoring was the nleasing result of the Platts mouth win. All five starters and three reserves tallied during the game, while most saw only limit ; ed dudty.
