" Variety in Greeting Cards Reaches New Peak This Season Gifts are not enough, says the modern spirit of the Yuletide. Greetings too, should be in the form of a card with" the gift or through the mails. Never since greeting cards have been in vogue has the variety been so great, or the op portunity to do something clever in the way of Christmas Cards, been so broad. Stationery stores present a gala appearance with their card displays for this year. Printers offer wonderful patterns from which to design your, own indi vidual card. Photography stores can help you create wonderfully personal cards adorned witv. photographs of yourself, members of your family, or your own favorite photograph. Don't wait until the last min ute to choose your Christmas and New Year's cards I r this season, especially 'if they are to be personalized. Brighten Yule Scene in Home With Flowers What would Christmas be with out flowers flowers at the win dow, the mantlepiece, the door, the dining table, the hostess' shoulder? The season calls for traditional greens and reds, but why not use these old favorites in festive new ways? The flowers of the season, chrysanthemums, carnations, red and white roses, pompons and a host of evergreen settings for decorations, bouquets and cor sages. The "accessories" range from stvrofoam snowballs,, antique glass chimneys and cedar cones for room decorations to minia ture pine cones, bells and tiny tree ornaments for corsages. For the Christmas table, a charming centemiece can be easily arranged with a dozen red roses contrasted with silver dusted thistles and sprays of evergreen. Set these on a green mat or flat bowl, plunge two red candies in the center and sur round with pine cones. "Oh, he (cr she) has a watch" is no longer any reason at ail for eliminating watches from consideration as Yuletide gifts. Maybe the present watch is out moded style wise. Or perhaps it is working overtime- (doubling at work ana play and a "change of pace" watch is indicated. With so many new and at tractive styles and types of timepieces on the market, ex pressly designed for every place find purpose, it is easy to choose a model that will appropriately round out the "wjilch wardrobe" cf almost any man or woman on, your gift list.
