H i i i, i , Fairview Women Have Lesson On Friends Unite To Help Mrs. Wu'rl Note Birthday To celebrate the birthday of Mrs. Ella Wurl. a group of neigh- ! bride bors and friends got together on Monday niiht and surprised her with a birthday party at the home of Mr$. Henry Engelke meier. Three tables of pinochle play ers provided the diversion of the evening with prizes going to Mrs. Blanche Meisinger, Mrs. Elizabeth Stoehr and Mrs. Anna Fittman. A large angel food cake, bak ed by Miss Sophia Kraeger, was .served with ice cream and cof fee. The honoree received manv nice gifts. Present to. enjoy the occasion were Mrs. Sophia Short. Miss Norris One Of State's Winners Nebraska Winers in 4-H com petition at the National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago in cludes Miss Joan Norris, 16, of Weeping Water state winner in the national 4-H dress revue program. The lesson on painting Christmas cards, with each member painting a, card was demonstrated by Mrs. Wanger and Mrs. Ahrens. Club members voted to send $15 to Children's Memorial Hos pital for Christmas and prepara tions were made for the club to attend "book review" at the Christ Lutheran Church with lour neighDoring clubs. Mrs. Glenn Wetenkamp and Mrs. Ben Speck attended a meet ing, of the Lewiston church to get lessons on metal modeling. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Jessie Ad- on December 10 with Mrs. A. Lentz, assistant. Delicious refresnments were served by the hostesses.
