Buckingham, a star performer for two seasons with the Green wood quintet was stricken with a mild attack of polio during the 1953 epidemic. Other letter winners who will bolster Greenwood hopes for the current campaign are John Thomasen, Jerry Leadabrdnd, Bob Tweton and Lyle Comstock. Coach Dick lists promising ma terial as Philip Hergenrader, Larry Warren, Bob Buckingham and Richard Diekmann. Contenders for the Cass Coun ty Basketball Conference crown a year ago. Greenwood will op en its 1954 quest for the loop championship on December 1 at Murdock. The West County kids opened with a tune-up at Wal ton ten days ago. Coach Dick explains that Greenwood is short of player talent this year and therefore will play only first team games. The squad is not numerically THOMAS WALLING CO. Spidell, son of Mrs. Katherine Ann Spi dell, Plattsmouth is now serving with the 25th Infantry Division in Korea. Rushed to Korea during the early days of the conflict, the 25th Infantry took part in some of the most bitter fighting on the peninsular: It is now under going intensive post-truce train ing. An artilleryman with his unit, Private Spidell entered the army last May and completed basic training at Camp Chaffee, Ark. Casket bear ers were Charles Wondra, Jarnes Wondra, John Wondra. Kenneth Wondra, Roy Caverider and Frank Koubek. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery. Mrs. Wondra, born in Czech oslovakia on September 3, 1380, had resided at Plattsmouth j throughout most of her lifetime. I She came to the United States !
